Stopped in on a Friday and sat at the upstairs bar. The lobby and bar area were very clean with a relaxing and classic atmosphere. The bathrooms are just around the corner and were also maintained well. The bar had the game playing as well as fun music. Despite there being a large party at the bar, I was quite impressed by the fast service! Both bartenders were extremely friendly & attentive. Payton provided me with awesome drink recommendations and Kevin offered great conversation. Next time I will have to check out the restaurant! In 9 May 2026, I treated myself to lunch at the Alexandria Restaurant at Turf Valley Restaurant for Mother's Day. The food was good but the service was sorely lacking--so much so that it has marred my impression of the resort. The location with a view of the golf course is always inviting and relaxing to say the lease, but when the customer service is sub-par it detracts from the ambience. I had a reservation, but it appeared the restaurant was understaffed for lunch service. After waiting at the hostess stand for a few minutes I was informed the hostess would be with me shortly; eventually one of the customer service personnel sat me at a table by the window and stated she would be back to take my order. Well, she did not come back, but unbeknownst to me she had assigned me to the other customer service representative who had stopped by my table inquiring if I had been helped, to which I told him my waiter said she would be back. He later came back to the table to let me know he would be my waiter for the day. I ordered a delicious sandwich with fries and a salad. The food was on point!!! Three bites into my meal my waiter brings me a to-go box. I asked if they were putting me out. He said the other waiter said I requested a to-go box. I informed hi that I did not. While continuing to eat my meal my waiter started stocking the sugar packets on the tables to include mine-Really!!! When I finally finished my meal and requested my check I informed my waiter that I would use a gift certificate to pay a portion of the bill. He informed me that would be fine, but wrote on the receipt "Expired Gift Card" showing the gift card amount reduced from the bill. Hmmm, that didn't leave me with feelings of being welcomed or appreciated. As a handicap person, I found it interesting that they would put the accessible room at the end of a 50 yard hallway. The very last room. I'd be curious if all the accessible rooms have a beautiful view of the parking lot. In addition, the accessible ramp outfront has a 20 foot, 1 foot high brick wall that required handicap persons to walk around in order to access it. It's just a poor design. My girl friend and I came for a long weekend over the memorial holiday to get away an unwind. We had a great time here and overall I would return. We were pleasantly surprised at how affordable and nice the hotel was. Here are some overviews: The room was small but acceptable we used it to sleep and had a nice view of the pool with a small balcony. The bathroom and showers were new with great pressure and clean! The restaurant on the first floor was nice but service was so slow. Had to ask several times for drink refills and our breakfast took almost an hour to be received. The bar on the second floor was nice and there's live music on the weekends. We really enjoyed both bartenders Kevin and Peyton. Very friendly and fun to chat with at the bar while we ate and drank. The WiFi in the place is TERRIBLE! We could hardly get any signal with or without wifi. It was a disappointment. There is an outdoor pool with a bar that was nice and service was good. We didn't use the indoor or outdoor pools but they were clean and maintained daily. They also have a life guard and cute kids area with a playground and tennis courts as well as golf. Attended a conference here over the summer so this review is only based on the conference facilities. Had a great time here and the only thing that prevented it from getting a better score was the parking situation. Since there is a hotel and active golf course the parking was very limited. They don't have a garage so you may have to park at one of the further lots. As far as the conference facilities they were great. Ample space for vendors in the hallway and a lot of seating in the main room for all attendees. They had three different sets of restrooms easily accessible to the conference room. All the the audio visual equipment worked properly. All of the Turf Valley Staff were super friendly and helpful. They also careered the lunch each day. It was located in the main conference room and the staff did a tremendous job setting it up for the meal. They also constantly refilled the dishes so the lines went smoothly and there was more than enough to go around. read more

Turf Valley Resort positions itself as a reputable, well-established resort, but my most recent stay exposed a serious failure in how guests are treated when something goes wrong. During my stay, my vehicle was broken into on the property, resulting in a shattered window and over $500 in damage. Incidents can happen anywhere; what matters is the response. Turf Valley's response was dismissive and disengaged, offering no meaningful concern and no effort to resolve the situation in a reasonable way. I requested reimbursement for the night a measured and appropriate request given the circumstances. It was declined without consideration. I have stayed here many times and have been a loyal, repeat guest, yet that history carried no weight. What stood out most was the tone. Cold, transactional, and entirely unconcerned. The message was clear: once your stay is paid for, the responsibility ends there. Guest safety, loyalty, and basic goodwill appear to be afterthoughts. This experience permanently changed my view of this property. I will not return, and I would strongly advise others to manage their expectations accordingly. Luxury is not how a place looks when everything goes right it is how it responds when something goes wrong. Turf Valley failed that test. read more

DO NOT BOOK COUPLES GETAWAY PACKAGE My boyfriend and I booked the Couple's Golf & Spa Getaway to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We booked about 2 months in advance so we were really excited and counted down the days for this trip. For $820, the package included; An Overnight Stay in an Executive King or Golf View Room, A Round of Golf and Cart Rental, Unlimited Use of the Driving Range, Pro-shop Merchandise Gift Certificate, Choice of One Spa Treatment for Two, and Dinner for Two at Alexandra's American Fusion. To start with the good, the golf course was amazing. We golfed Saturday afternoon, it was a bit windy and in the 40s, but the course was beautiful and the staff was great. They had men's and women's golf clubs to rent. (I rented ladies clubs for $45) Afterwards, we checked into the hotel. The check in experience was subpar. It felt like we weren't given many details on what we booked in our package. We were told we should hurry up and book a reservation at the restaurant (where free dinner is included) because they would be really busy tonight. We booked 2 months prior, over the phone, and no one mentioned we would need to do this. I called the restaurant as soon as I got in the room and we were told they were fully booked. I explained that we had the couples package and weren't told we needed to make reservations and magically they had a 7:30pm and 8pm reservation available. Since we were hungry and had to wait for a later than expected dinner time, we ordered pizza room service. The pizza comes and we were given no plates to eat off of. Just pizza in a box. We received a call from room service asking how our order went and I told them we didn't get plates. They said 'sorry' but didn't ask if we still needed plates...didn't offer to bring any up. We get to dinner, the service and food was fine. But more notably, it didn't look booked and busy like we were told it would be. We go to the room (which were nice and spacious) and take showers, the water pressure was absolutely non existent. Another note on the room, we are supposed to have a "golf course view" but were on the 4th floor so really its just the parking lot. The next morning, we have our couples massage booked for 10:30am, we decide to order breakfast room service. We had to ask for the pot of coffee at delivery, that we ordered, because we were only given 2 empty mugs. We also asked where the 2 glasses of ice (we ordered) were and the room service guy asked "oh do you want me to go get them?" ...like yes we ordered it and its not here. The breakfast food was meh, my omelette was burnt, just very subpar for the prices. We go down to the spa to get in the pool and hot tub before our massages and to our surprise there is a literal swimming lesson for small children being run at the SPA pool, where the hot tub is attached. It was truly unbelievable to see at 9:30am in a spa. Those are the only amenities offered at the spa,outside of the saunas in each of the locker rooms. That was the last straw for us so we decided to check out early without getting our massages. My boyfriend went to the front desk to let them know why we were leaving early and they did seem concerned. They said their director would be in contact with us the next day to talk through things further. Next day comes, no call from the director. My boyfriend tried calling them 2 days later to request the call that we were promised and the response was that the director was busy and would get back to us. This is NOT a luxury experience by any means and just very much seemed a little falsely advertised. The room service is a nightmare and the front desk/booking staff does not do due diligence making sure their guests can fully take advantage of everything booked and paid for in our packages. I booked a room for 2 nights on business trip. The website CLEARLY says in room internet is provided. I spend 40 minutes trying to get connected for an important meeting with no luck. I called the front desk who said they would send someone up but no one ever came. I went to the front desk and asked for a manager to file a complaint. I was told no one was available. It is beyond ridiculous to charge this amount per night and not be able to connect in the room. This place is a business nightmare! No connectivity, no support, no manager, and no customer service. AVOID this place if you have any connectivity needs. BTW, Verizon only had 1 bar so that wasn't an option either. Files a BBB complaint for a refund. I doubt they will respond. read more

So I have been coming here for my full body massage every three months now for about a year. I am way overdue for this review. I usually get a one hour massage with aromatherapy. Can I say every moment is enjoyable. I would recommend booking in advance at least two months if you have specific dates. They tend to stay busy. Everyone is so nice and take advantage of the full experience. That is with the locker room and serenity area. They offer different types of refreshments. And very light snacks. I would have given it five stars for the massage alone but I wasn't impressed with my lunch selection that I chose on one visit. The salmon burger was not what I expected. It was overly dry and I was highly disappointed. They only have a minimum selection for the lunch spa menu. Wish they would offer more. Then I may give lunch another try. If you love to be pampered see for yourself. Don't forget to take full advantage of all the other amenities. They advertise this resort as pet friendly (and orally confirmed that), so I planned to bring my two small dogs. I called a week prior to the stay and they said there would be a $100 fee per dog for a one night stay. I said that's not exactly what I call "pet friendly". She acted like that's about the fifth time today someone brought that up. I've been to two private events at the Turf Valley Resort and have been so impressed by the service, ambiance and food! It is such a lovely event space to host a party! The service is incredible. Our meal options were salmon or steak. I ordered the steak and it was fantastic! The drinks were great. The dessert was okay. The presentation was beautiful but the taste wasn't as good as it looked. Absolutely amazing night. Attended AFCEA 16th Annual Valentine Gala here and enjoyed every minute of it. The location was great, easy to find. Parking was was very good as well and the venue was absolutely perfect for the event. The flow and use of the space was efficient, once explained. The food was good considering they cater for the masses. Usually the food for these events is bland but the selection was good and flavorful. The dinning area was very nice and the space for the band and dance floor exceeded my expectations. The only downfall was the draft at our table, which was near the service area and the coffee, which was extremely weak. In summary, loved the venue and enjoyed the majority of the food. This place is a dump that is in need of a major renovation. The rooms appear to be straight out of 1975 untouched. The furniture in the rooms are all aged pieces of junk, the TV is not HD and there is an odor throughout the hotel. The paint on every door is chipped on the hallway with horrible carpet. Turf Valley uses actual manure on their golf course and they expect their patrons to walk through manure, play out of the manure, it's not staked off to prevent people from walking through it, and we are not talking about a little bit, this is full on gagging reflex stench spread out on the golf course, plus they don't tell you in advance before booking or playing, you get it on your shoes, it's on your ball and clothes. I have been coming to the Turf Valley Spa for 7 years. I absolutely love the Hot Oil treatment with the Vichy Shower. It is paradise here on Earth. I am afraid to let you know who my message therapist is because I don't want her over booked and then I can't schedule lol. However, all of the technicians are great. However it doesn't state that clearly on the website. Nonetheless, the food was delicious,. We did have an issue with our food, but the management did give our entire party a free dessert. Checkin was flawless. I was greeted and helped by an incredibly friendly member of the front desk team. Staff here mostly was well trained, helpful, and friendly. The interior and rooms are dated and seemed 'dusty'. They could definitely use an upgrade. The golf grounds are pristine. Nice to view and walk on a nice day. The food here wasn't bad, but it was pricey. The room rate I got appeared to be fair. The king bedroom suite was roomy and had nice views of the grounds. WiFi was included without much fuss or extra login hassle. Complimentary Kering coffee and tea. The vending machines were out of water and only took dollar bills. Regarding the Restaurant: When we first arrived, many of our family members were sitting in the dinning area where they recently ordered food, and asked us to come over. We pulled up chairs and immediately Jovani was not happy. We just sat to say hi, my son and I left, leaving my mom with her siblings. We have not seen our family in over six years. There was no wait for the restaurant and the fact that Jovani made it seem like such an inconvenience for us to be there was making us all uncomfortable. My uncle pulled him aside and told him to not worry about tips, we are all good tippers and will make sure they are well taken care of. The next morning I came down alone as my aunts and cousins called me to join them. Again, no one was waiting so I walked over to my cousins and asked Jovani and Kendall for an extra chair, they said no. My one cousin said she had to go, so I took her seat. It took 15 minutes for anyone to see if I needed anything. My aunts and uncles were at the table near us. When they finished eating and left, Jovani went to clean up the table and pull the tables apart. He started cursing under his breath, very upset and annoyed (shaking his head, cursing, etc.). He pulled out a chair and was complaining to one of the staff about milk that spilled, not necessarily from my family, probably from him pulling tables apart, but he blamed us. He cleaned the tables, cursing and noticeably upset. I asked the server near us what his name was and said he does not seem very happy. That server was Jordan, who walked up to Jovani and said exactly what I told her. My point was to bring that maybe he should not be on the floor and go in back to cool off as he was visibly heated by our family. I was disappointed in Jordan and said that it was inappropriate for her to go up to him in front of us to say this when he was noticeably upset as it was. Later that day we tried to go down to sit again and Jovani ran up to the hostess station and told the hostesses (while we were standing over him) that we are not to be seated with our family. So I said, don't worry Jovani, we will not be eating at the restaurant today. And he said it was ok, my mom and I both stated we heard him tell them to not seat us and we will go elsewhere. I proceeded to go to the front desk asking for a manager. Spoke with Chris, explained everything, he mentioned Jovani was the serving manager, which caught me off guard. We told your manger we still had two days left with your resort and will not be eating there moving forward. He apologized and stated he would talk with Jovani, which we never heard anything about. I will say Jovani makes people feel uncomfortable. Many of our family complained about him from day one. Sadly, he worked almost every time we were in the restaurant. My mom and I went to the bar upstairs to order food, and had an amazing experience with Peyton. He was extremely friendly, caring, and attentive. Really couldn't have asked for better. Jovani could take a lesson! After this, we did not eat at the hotel. We went out to get food and this seemed to be acceptable to both Jovani and Chris. I have never felt so unwanted as a guest. I can not believe this is the service you are accepting for your guests. No one should be made to feel they are not welcome, when they are paying customers! Overall, the service was extremely slow, refills on drinks were almost nil, and the friendliness was lacking! Other family members wrote reviews and the response was that they are not used to working with large parties. I find this funny as they are a resort and host conferences. I do not do well with excuses. Make adjustments, train your staff, and accept when they do a poor job! I wrote directly to the resort, it's been over a week with no response. They truly do not care. Regarding our Room Itself: We had three people in our room. Two adults and a 13 year old (that is bigger than the adults). I left notes for additional mugs, glasses, wash clothes, hand towels, etc. daily, which was not provided. I had to ask front desk every day. The toilet paper we had access to was the one roll on the holder, which was never full. Needless to say, we had to request this daily as well. The pull-out sofa bed was broken and unacceptable. The angle of the bed, where you place your head was at a significant decline from the rest of the bed. The first night, my 5'10 son slept sideways to avoid sinking and following into the couch. My son had to prop up pillows (this was after the second night when pillows were actually provided) to offset the decline. The floors / room was never truly clean. For example, the mirrors were dirty and remained so our entire stay (Friday - Monday). The floors needed to be cleaned (bathroom especially). The toilet was not cleaned the entire stay. No one informed us that the room would not be cleaned or there is limited cleaning during our stay, so this was a disappointment as we were cleaning on our vacation. When I saw hot read more

My husband and I stayed at The Turf Valley Resort this past Friday night. The room itself was very nice, we had a large King sized bed. We have stayed at the resort before, but at this visit, we paid top dollar for the room. We arrived late to our room and prepared to go to sleep. All night the toilet would run off and on. The bathroom being right next to the bed, we heard the noise all night and did not get any sleep. When we complained the next morning at check out, we were told we needed to speak with the manager who would not be in until Monday. We spoke to her today and her answer to us was that she would put in a maintenance request. We were not asking for a free room, some compensation after spending a lot of money on a room where we could not sleep. After being treated so poorly, we will not be staying there again. read more

I was excited to spend a night at this "resort" since I had heard it was on a beautiful golf course in a pretty area in Maryland. I arrived early for a convention and when I inquired about my reserved room possibly being ready (but more likely, not) I was told, "It ain't ready yet." Oph, not starting out so well. I then asked where the Grand Ballroom was located and was told, "You can't go back there yet." My mind was thinking that was not my question - simply asking for directions - but I said thank you and again asked where it was located for when I could actually "go back there." The ballroom was set up perfectly for the convention. The room was huge and the seating was layed out spaciously and well organized. There was one coffee table in the back corner that would get me through the next two days. After the first day I was able to check into my room. The young man at the front desk was very friendly and respectful, unlike the young woman earlier. The room was a standard double bed hotel room. Nothing resort like or impressive. The view was nice of the golf course though. The hotel services staff all seemed very kind and eager to help out or answer any questions. The meals? Again, unimpressed. For lunch I had a $35 Chopped Salad. It was side salad size with a few chickpeas thrown on top. Still hungry, I ate half of my friend's chicken wrap. And loaded up on blonde brownies that were served to the entire table. Now, those were impressive! For dinner I had an extremely expensive small portion of salmon with crab on top. This dish came with a few potatoes and some asparagus. It was good, but I've had better for 1/4 the cost. All in all, the venue is nice and spacious if you're planning an event, but the meals are way overpriced for the quality and quantity you get. It was nice to finally get to experience Turf Valley Resort though so now I can say I've been there, done that, and will choose another venue if I am in the market for an event location. Caveat: Everyone at this convention struggled with no cell service. I had to walk around the resort until I found a very small area outside a men's room in the lobby to finally get cell reception. We were here for the New Year's Eve party. It was spread out over a number of rooms. The band, dancing, seating and two bars were in the main room. The food including dessert were in different rooms and required a short trip to and from the main room. The food included a lot of fried items. They put out one plate of chocolate covered strawberries and never added more. A balloon drop and champagne toast were advertised by the resort. There was no balloon drop. The champagne toast was Cava, which I like, but should have been advertised as such. We included rooms with our reservation. The rooms are dated but were clean and comfortable. I was looking forward to staying here for a conference I am attending. The grounds and lobby give an impression of an upscale nice resort. What a HUGE disappointment once I got to my room. It is horribly outdated and in desperate need of renovation. There are no USB ports (which every major hotel offers now), only basic cable, no streaming services available, really uncomfortable beds, no drawers for clothes, only 2 "bins"...as if all of this wasn't bad enough, the walls are paper thin. It's 1am and my neighbors are so loud, I can hear their entire conversation and every movement and their TV is so loud it's literally impossible to sleep. I travel regularly for business and stay in Marriotts, Hilton or Fairmonts. This "resort" doesn't even cone close to even the most basic of Amy of those hotels. If you value nice accommodations and a good night's sleep this is NOT the place to go! read more

Wayyy to expensive for an outdated property! Where do I start? The room was so out dated spread was something from my grand mother's era. The bed was so horrible I tossed and turned all night. And tell you that was not a king bed. My husband is 6ft tal and his feet hung off the bed. Pillows to soft, my neck is killing me. Cobwebs in the bathroom light fixtures. Sofa was so low and sunken in could not sit on it. The wallpaper was super old, looks like it should be in my grand mother's house. The received 3 stars because the room was clean. The indoor swimming pool had rust everywhere, floors, doors and the jacuzzi had this merky look to it, not sure about that. Pool was freezing cold. Nice, renovated, but not spiffy weekend/event resort between DC and Baltimore. Went there with my honey for a won't-tell-ya-which high school reunion and had a really fun time despite the very small room outfitted with one double bed. (I don't think they could have fit a queen in it). Amazing how some people looked pretty darn good and some people...not so much. (I was prolly in the "not so much" group but who cares. These are the folks I spent just about my whole childhood with and every one of them was nice and kind as could be...even the former greaser kid I was afraid would beat me up; turns out he became a cop for 30 years and was pecan pie sweet:). The food was 3 star good, as was the service. Asked to change rooms but they claimed to be fully booked up. And that kept it away from a 4 star value rating. I hate to even write this review because turf valley was a place thay I adored. I had my birthday gathering here 2 years ago. Ive literally brought my mother well over $1000 in gift cards to stay,eat or have a relaxing spa day here. I wanted to plan something special for my boyfriend. I looked up their packages and saw they were offering an overnight stay (deluxe package) in a suite with a jacuzzi tub. The stay included a 3 course meal for 2 , champagne toast, bath robes, delivered chocolate strawberries, and room service breakfast the following morning. I wish I took a screen shot to back up the facts that I am saying however I will include the new information on the site. I called this morning to book the room under the pricing I saw yesterday and this morning and the lady I spoke with who said she was the reservations manager said that she will have to call me back. I called a little after 10am. I didnt hear back for some hours so I have her a call around 2pm. She called me back and said she is ready to answer my questions. She proceeds to tell me that she was unaware of this package that was being offered on their website and had to check in with the marketing team. Well guess what.....she quoted me a hundred dollars more than what was initially on the site. I go and check and low and behold...they changed the pricing on me. I told her exactly what I saw but there was no type of accommodation offered except to downgrade. No. I would have liked to get what was offered for the pricing that I saw and remembered. I write all of this to say....I wish the did better with handling customers dissapointmets and errors on their end. Please see the current rates and use this going forward just in case they try to change up pricing again on you....the same day. Disappointed.....and now that my boyfriend will read this and know his surprise even makes me more upset as he is an yelper as well. read more

Afternoon to all who reads this. I recently had the worst experience with this establishment. I called to book the Romance in the Valley package at the price that was shown on their website. Anastasia said she'll call me back for booking. She calls back 5hrs later and gave me a completely different price than what I saw. "She literally called her team and had them change the price online". She told me it was a human error and I shouldn't have seen that price and in the same breath said she will not honor the price I saw. read more

Around 2016, I actually enjoyed this place. I was comfortable and the atmosphere was nice. Then 2 years later, I went to Turf Valley again and from what I experienced back then was crummy. The staff treated my group members with a lack of respect and gave us a hard time for nothing. I don't recommend this place. read more

It was a little strange to pull up and not have easy access to get our luggage to the lobby, but certainly not difficult. It was cold and rainy when we arrived and many cars in line, so we had to walk to the overhang. Upon entrance, there were no luggage carts in sight and a line at the elevator. We arrived on in a Saturday, many events taking place, only 2 people working the desk. There was a 3rd, but she disappeared while I was in line. Odd. However, check in was quick. I asked for directions to the stairs since i only had to go up one flight, but the concierge had immediate difficulty in explaining where they were located. First he questioned why i wanted the stairs, so I merely looked toward the line at the elevator. He escorted me to a stairwell, all the while questioning why I wanted stairs. Again, odd. The room was nice. The bathroom was spacious and well-lit. We were the for an event and the bathroom was one of the best I have been in. I slept very well and the pillows were comfortable. The closet was disturbingly small. I could not and did not hang my dress in there. The door also had a uncomfortable space between the door and frame. Unfortunately, I didn't notice it until the middle of the night. At first I thought the door was open, but it was closed and latched. Our receipt wad under the door by morning, so check out was seamless. We didn't get to enjoy any of the amenities besides the ballroom, but had a view of the pool. Recently held a rehearsal dinner at tv. The planning was easy and everyone sales office was always responsive and pleasant. Our room was perfectly appointed. Manager offered assistance for special request... food was beyond expectations... mini crab app is well worth the price. Everyone raved about them... service was excellent. Attended a 50th Anniversary this past weekend. Everything was perfect. Checking in the young lady was very efficient & understanding. Our room was very clean. Walk in shower with grab bar. Had breakfast & lunch in restaurant, food was good & waitress attentive. The Anniversary party was in the "Maria" room. Our waitress worked very hard to take care of everyone. She was amazing. My sister had her wedding here this Saturday. The property is beautiful. The hotel rooms differ in size. My sister had a king size bed and her room was huge. I had a queen size bed and my room was a lot smaller. They have double rooms with a very small balcony basically for you to stand. The staff at reception were very pleasant and allowed me and other family members to check in early. The wedding came out beautiful. No complaints on the food or the room we used for the wedding. I do feel soMe of the staff there could of been more friendly. The bartender appeared as if she hated her job and my family felt she was mean. I feel the other staff were friendly and tried to be helpful. They have a restaurant on the 1st floor. I came down with the kids to eat breakfast we were standing there for a while no one came to sit us so I sat us down lol. Then the waitress with an attitude tells us why did we sit didn't we see the hostess. Apparently there were 2 hostess that saw us but didn't say a word. It was the overall attitude given to me and the kids that rubbed me the wrong way. Overall I had a great time and I would recommend. I would possibly eat somewhere else and also if you plan on speaking loud after 10 security will come to your door so be mindful. Spa was booked for the weekend so book early. read more
