Ordered the chicken teriyaki and they knew the order was for the kids so they asked if they wanted kids size which was appreciated. The kids inhaled the chicken before I could even sneak a bite so I'll assume it was delicious since they can be picky eaters. My wife and I ordered four different roll and they were each more delicious than the last. Thank you Turi's Sushi! We will definitely make this a regular stop anytime we are in the area! Service was horrible, server (Isabella) was rude and got our drinks and sushi orders wrong, then had an attitude like it was our fault when she was the one to write the order in her notepad. Also took FOREVER to get our rolls and the place was half empty, actually nobody else on our side of the joint. Rolls fell apart on nearly every bite, very little fish inside and out, overwhelming amount of cucumber inside to fill space. To end it all we were charged gratuity when she ran our card. This small sushi spot in downtown Vista is a great find. It's nice to have more sushi spots in Vista! The fish is fresh and the rolls are flavorful. The space is very cozy, which adds to the charm, but the parking can definitely be limited. For this reason, we order take out. Also, only half of the restaurant is open since they are still remodeling. I'll wait until the remodel is complete to return and dine in. We've enjoyed several different rolls and sashimi. I've been meaning to stop by and try Turi's Sushi out for a while now and finally made it. The service was great. The waitresses were very attentive and the sushi chefs were very friendly as well. My husband and I shared a sashimi sampler which was absolutely phenomenal. We also shared mixed tempura appetizer and although the shrimp was really good, the vegetables were a bit undercooked. I also ordered a hamachi roll which I really enjoyed. My husband had beef yakisoba which he said was really good as well. Absolutely enjoyed our meal here. Why knock a star off? The undercooked vegetables in the mixed tempura, the beef yakisoba dish took a significant amount of time to come out. We had to ask a couple of times about about the status. Then we ordered the 12 piece sashimi. It was albacore, yellowtail, salmon and bluefin. The fish was so good. We also ate that so fast I didn't get a picture. We decided to get the lemon roll. I love seating at the bar enjoying some snack paired with sake or a cold beer. They also have Japanese beers on tap. The Chefs also work hard on dressing/presentation of each dish. I highly recommend the "Carpaccio": perfect seasoning via a combination herbs and oils... The chefs will also pretty much accommodate and customize each roll with anything you want. This review is during their soft opening. We came for dinner and were really excited about this new place, but it let us down on so many levels. Food. Agedashi tofu. It's very watery! Seared salmon. So much garlic oil on this, I couldn't taste the salmon.. Yellowtail Carpaccio. It's doused in oil and there was a pinbone in one of the cuts... Hamachi Kama. Generous portion size, but it was really dry. The green tea was great though! It's not from a generic tea bag and was steeped so it was refreshing to have over ice. Last but not least, TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR BILL! The prices on ours didn't line up with the prices on the menu. They mentioned they had a new POS system, but that doesn't make it OK to charge the customer more.. Some people pay without thinking twice, so take a good look first. My agedashi tofu was $7.35 ($7 on the menu) and our chicken katsu was $23.10 (which is $22 on the menu). Overall, I think this place needs to work out a few kinks - but the hot food like the udon and katsu were pretty decent, and the rice to sushi ratio is pretty nice (not too much rice). We popped in here 20 minutes before closing and they were so kind in serving us quickly and telling us to take our time while they worked on closing down the kitchen. The chef was very friendly and chatting with us--giving suggestions, making sure we enjoyed everything. The space feels a little cramped; I can imagine it would get tight squeezing around the tables when there's more people in. Everything was clean and orderly. The menu had lots of great options , we decided to split some things to get to try more options. We started with mixed tempura with shrimp and wee not disappointed ! We like Asian ginger and our ladies continued to bring more to the table as we devoured it. We also had a shared chicken ramen bowl. Had our experience been stellar, this would have been a 4/5 review. The food is good, one of the best sushi in town no doubt. But, I'm so glad I read the reviews before coming because when we got our bill, every item was marked up 40 cents to 95 cents. I wouldn't even have bothered checking had it not been for a previous reviewer. None of the pricing reflected the menu. When I inquired, the server said "oh we got a new pos system and those are our old prices. It's okay I'll give you a discount." You just opened. Literally still in soft opening mode. How are those old prices? Discount? That's not a discount. That's simply making it right because operationally, it's a slip up. Which is totally okay- but own that. Don't make it seem like you're doing us any favors. That put a SOUR taste in my mouth and is super upsetting. They're ripping off every customer unless they say something. That's just foul business. Either let customers know when they're coming in the menu prices aren't accurate, or simply honor menu pricing until you get new menus. Left disappointed in the interactions. The food was good but the experience was less than mediocre. They took over an old sports bar. And there's minimal renovations done and it showed. Wasn't the worst but definitely nothing to rave home about as it pertains to the ambiance. read more

The food was good- unfortunately a terrible experience with the staff. My weed pen fell out of my pocket while I was signing the bill - forgot to pick it up. Came back 30 minutes later to get it and they insisted it wasn't there even though I was 100% certain it was. My boyfriend went it after they shooed me off and insisted it was there and to as the back of house staff if they had it. After he waited 5-10 minutes they came out with it and apologized.
