We're visiting from out of town and decided to stop by before heading out. We enjoyed this card room--great games and a fun atmosphere, even though we ended up losing it all. The experience was still enjoyable. However, Some servers weren't the best. After we refused to tip, the server didn't come back to serve us and made excuses and attitude each time. That said, I want to give credit to the petite Asian girl Molly who did serve us with great attitude. We weren't easy on her, but she continued to smile and provide good service throughout our time there. She didn't care about tips, but to make sure customers were having a great time and that's what made the rating to 4 stars. read more

Tonight we left concerned about our safety and potential covid exposure,due to a customers negligent behavior. This is all based upon my opinion. So heres how it all went down, we were playing cards at table when customer who had sat next to my brother for a while and then was sitting in between both my husband and I. He answers a video chat and the person on the chat says " we must pray that we don't have it and they all tested positive, we have to pray that we don't get it". My instant thought was to put another mask on now wearing two. I looked up and realize my husband on the other side of him was now wearing his n95 mask for added protection. Customer leaves and I look up and ask my husband if he heard that. He said yes. To which dealer chimes in and says oh your in the wrong place if your worried about covid. He commented something about touching cards and chips. I told him its just my father died a few months ago of covid related causes and my husband almost died in January as a result of covid issues,so I feel concerned. He went onto comment about kids at his daughters school had covid being passed around and basically if im that concerned this was the wrong place for me. Something to this effect. Then allows the guy who potentially exposed us to just go to another table once again sitting next to my brother. It took everything in me not to ask the customer if he felt a concern why was he even there, and if the dealer suspected any exposure at his childs school why was he at work, and why did he allow customer to remain playing and not ask him to leave???? In the name of public health and safety and flattening the curve why is this ever allowed and how is this safe for my family or the community? We go there from time to time and I feel sad because I even told dealer about the most painful thing in my life and he just went on and allowed the guy to continue and voiced his personal defense as to why I shouldn't be there if I felt the way I do. Im disappointed. I hope the guy was not sick Im just sad that we have to worry about this while coming there and not sure if we will go back as we all felt super angry. Even spoke to other customers in parking lot about it. People started walking out after that not just us. Totally not cool! read more

Small poker room tucked in a middle of a strip mall; about as odd a location as I have ever come across. The staff is friendly, at times walking by the tables and offering to make a Taco Bell run (I kid you not!) Unfortunately they seriously lack space and action. I have come in here twice and both times had to wait for a seat at a NL game. Both times they only had one table open. First time was about a 45 min wait and the second about 1/2 hour. You get your typical goofy players and yes your big pocket pair will get called by a 10-6 offsuit on a preflop raise and yes you will lose. Overall not a bad place to spend some time and there is ample parking in the lot read more

I am an avid poker player and found that this poker room has a nice variety, given its mid-size space. I've had to wait a bit for tables to open up, but, for the most part, am able to pass time with friendly staff who are very helpful. The tournaments are inexpensive and you can make a little chunk of change while chatting with overall friendly players. I've run across fewer "jerk" players here than many other places. My only "peeve" would be that the number of house players are more than I prefer. When I'm about to give up on waiting for a table, it's not unusual for floor staff to then immediately go to a table and pull a house player from it to make room for me. Don't like that. Otherwise, I enjoy a good game there when passing up or down the 99 freeway. Very easy to get to. read more

My husband & I always have a really good time when we go to Turlock Poker Room. We have been to dozens of poker rooms across the country & they have by far the best staff & service of any of them. The entire staff, from Mario (who runs the poker room) to the dealers & the food servers, always go above & beyond to make sure their customers are taken care of. Unethical Casino! By far the worst place to play at. When the dealer made the mistake to hit on 21 thus making his hand over he threw away the last card he hit and said he made a mistake but wouldn't pay out, instead collected all the money on the table. Been here several times. I've been to casinos and card rooms in several states so this isn't my first rodeo. Always had the same crappy attitude from the card dealers and there's also a lady who goes around offering drinks at absurd prices. They don't serve alcohol here, but it's connected to the pizza place next door through a hallway that does. I have not been here for awhile so I thought I would play here on a Monday. I called at 1 pm to have my name placed on the $1-2 cash game wait list. I was told a new game would start soon. Arrived at 1:20 pm and it is now 3:12 pm and the floor mgr has yet to acknowledge my presence. The chip runner updated my status as "present" when I arrived but no other contact. It is not as if they are busy. There is only 1 cash game running. Better to continue to drive to Sacramento's Capitol Casino. I attended an event here over the weekend and was so impressed with the amount of service and attention to detail that I received from Mario. The company had a Hang out area, Room for Storage of two 6 feet tables, area for decoration, security of those items on table, 45 min tutorial for beginner poker players, Mario hosted the poker tournament with 2-3 poker tables dedicated to our company, he did round the clock emceeing. Mario made the event fun for everyone to call out the best plays. He kept track of the bountys, best hand, and bad beat, as well as all the people who made it to the final table and their ranking. Clean Up and Staff were also included. We didnt have to get up for drinks. Everything was taken care of. I really appreciate the hospitality that was sown by Mario and his staff. read more

Lo and behold there is 29 cents on my card.. I was told to speak to Roger( who is an incompetent, rude jackass) he says i can't do anything for you.... Recently, I went back to the Turlock Poker Room for about my sixth or seventh time. I love this place. I usually only play in tournaments, so my money goes a long way. They have a DAILY 9am one for $15!!! No rebuys, no addons. Doesn't get any better than that. Usually have had around 40 to 50 people show up, making a good sized prize pot available. Evening tournament starts at 6pm usually $25, one or two days I think it might be $75 or $85. Usually have around 50 to 75 players for this one. They have great blind structures to give you more playing time at lower blinds levels. The staff is very friendly, Roger takes his time to make me feel like I am a regular, even though I am not. Very friendly like the rest of the staff, always has a smile for you. Bought my wife and daughter recently to show them why I love it here, and he went out of his way to kid with her and to make her feel more comfortable. My daughter even told me, WOW, I am surprised, this is really a nice place!! I have a 2 and a half hour drive each way from where I live, so I always stay at the Sunrise Inn in Turlock, another surprise find. I try to stay a couple of days and play in both daily tournaments. A lot of poker rooms don't have twice daily tournaments, as most of you know. With a 14 screen movie theatre and a pizza parlor next door, you don't have to go far. I would not recommend you to play here blackjacks only pay 6 to 5 on the shoe game which is unheard of I play all over within 100 mile radius nobody pays 65 on a shoe game don't get cheated out of your money they will not open up a high limit table to accommodate youif you'd like to play higher than five dollars A hand and not have a bunch of rejects that play with $20 as there whole bankroll. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!! Unethical? unfriendly? poorly manage? even hostile? perhaps the best phrase to describe MY PERSONAL situation: "SHADY!" I won a tournament for the 2006 $1500 WSOP tournament run by management at the TURLOCK POKER ROOM at their old location. It was understood and I was informed by management that I could either take cash equivalent or take seat. Long story short, I didn't collect (even though I told management to mail me a check) and I do bare some responsibility for not following through. Oh why, didn't I follow through? I have been given the cold shoulder ever since. Talk about a cooler! The only explanation given was that I needed to take the seat I won(and this is CLEARLY the case, I WON!) for that year...tough luck. I asked? why would a small( and I really do mean small-small minded, small outlook), local poker room want to betray a core principle: a friendly place for locals and regulars to to interact and enjoy a nice break around the poker table? Worst, betray one of those regular who help support the business consistently for years-through countless drops and tips(generous tip to dealers). Ownership and management really has lost sight of their identity. Congratulations on your new bigger and better locations.
