I came across Turn It On Electric from a simple Google search, needing a residential electrician to install a 50 AMP outlet to charge an electric vehicle in my garage. After i requested more information, I was contacted the next day to set up an appointment to estimate the cost of my requests. Upon arrival for my appointment, the employee worked well with giving me multiple quotes, giving me different pricing options fitting my budget and needs. After picking my desired location and estimate for the install, I emphasized I wanted minimal drywall cutting. I was reassured only one cut would be needed for the job. The following week, it was time for install and the technician cut in the wrong spot for the outlet, I assume "tapping" the wall is not the best way to find stud placement. There was also trouble routing the wire, leading to multiple drywall cuts to figure out the issue. Overall, there were 5 total drywall cuts to include the ceiling. On top of everything, the technician had to wait for his coworker to arrive due to not having the outlet on hand. I would not recommend due to my experiences. read more

I have called on this electric company for several years and have never been disappointed. Today was no exception! I had finally had enough with my cheap vanity light in my bathroom. It looked ok but it was not bright enough. I went out and bought a really nice light that took regular light bulbs and up too 100 Watts! With my dimmer switch already installed .. I was ready to go bright and dial down if needed. I was thrilled when Bob and Bryan showed up right on time (called on the way too) and got right to work. They had their work cut out as they had center the new fixture over the mirror and anchor it as it was heavy. They worked very efficiently and did a beautiful job. They even cleaned everything up. Technician that came by was abrupt, and borderline rude. In the end, they were trying to charge me $4200+ for a project that has been bid several times over for under $1900! Thanks for wasting my time as you try to hit a grand slam on a few smart toilets and lights. Unfortunately, I don't really want to wait 4-6 weeks, but with quotes like this, it would explain why these guys are able to do the work within 24-48 hours, whereas the other licensed contractors I received quotes from were several weeks out. Not to mention that they wanted to cut practically every wall, even though it's a single-story home with easy attic access, almost tall enough for me to stand in. Again, with the several other quotes I had received, I already had a good sense for which walls needed to be cut, versus which installs would be relatively easy with the attic space that I have. Save yourself the trouble, there's plenty of honest licensed contractors out there that will do their job in your attic, and not butcher your home, &/or ones that don't waste your time throwing outlandish and insulting figures at you to see if they stick! read more

Over the weekend, I sent out a request for a quote on a very simple job - installing an outlet. Every company had some person respond within a couple days (which is totally fine - I don't expect companies to work weekends), either providing a quote or asking for some additional information. Turn It On Electric sent me an auto-response indicating they were closed, offering numbers for emergencies, etc... So far so good. Then Monday came and went, no response. Then Tuesday came and finally I got one of those template responses from a generic "Customer C." account, which basically pushed me to give them all of my information including best times and days for an appointment, and absolutely no info that had anything to do with pricing of installing an outlet. If we're already communicating via Yelp messaging, you don't need 3 more ways to contact me in order to send me a quote. Nobody else did. I responded saying I was just gathering quotes at the time.... and no response from them until the next day when I get another non-human template response having the gall to start with: "Hello! We have reached out several times in response to your electrical needs." Um, no. You have not reached out "several times" and you never bothered to respond to me like a human being, and it is clear that still nobody human has actually bothered to read the messages because you still haven't actually given me a quote, and given that I'm only going to end up choosing one company, I don't want my personal contact information in the databases of companies that I haven't chosen. Now, I was just going to let this go, but then this morning they send yet another automated response, so now they're actually wasting my time, because it doesn't matter anymore. First impressions count and they showed me exactly how I would be treated if I would become a customer. The tech showed up on time and did a good job communicating arrival. I needed an outlet installed in my Garage booked about 3 days out. So the Bad!!! The price was extremely high he spent about 30 minutes measuring to give me a quote that was almost 3 times the other electrician's quotes. That wasn't the biggest problem the biggest problem was that he recommended Services that I did not need either he did not know what he was talking about or was trying to convince me to purchasing something not needed. I just put in for an estimate request on my problem, and I received a call to schedule for next week. After I made the appointment, I realized that I forgot to ask about any fees so I called back. I got a different person and after explaining the situation that I explained in my initial contact request, I was then told it would be $185/hr per tech, and then $125/hr per tech after the first hour. I was then asked if I wanted to keep my appointment and I said a bit hesitantly that I will keep the appointment for now. This is where the lady told me that in order to keep my appointment, I would have to pay $185 upfront to cover the first hour. Why was this not mentioned first? I don't understand why I should pay upfront for a service that I haven't even used yet, just to make an appointment. read more

Backstory: We originally hired a gentleman off Yelp who supposedly had 5 stars. He went and bought all the supplies and then never came to the actual job for 3 days with no response until I let him know we were terminating our contract. In the meantime, I had booked and initial estimate with TIO and Robert Sabala came and did the estimate with his apprentice. Rob is SUPER educated in his field and knowledgeable. I'll be honest, TIO was not the cheapest quote but they install everything to code and give you exact details of what you're paying For. I hired them on the spot! He was personable and explained things clearly without condescendion.
