I used Turnkey's services before purchasing a house a few years ago in Yucca Valley and have had numerous serious and dangerous problems come up since. Somehow they failed to note the complete lack of plumbing vents on the roof, which required thousands of dollars to fix. The other, more serious problem they missed was the complete lack of electrical ground from the water meter. This was discovered during an incident with the power company where my tenant could feel electricity through the water. I am beyond grateful that it wasn't a more serious incident where someone could have been killed or injured. When I brought these issues up to Marion she was extremely rude and talked over me. I only asked for a refund of their original fee (not the thousands of dollars I had to pay to remedy the issues they missed) and she hung up on me and ignored all my subsequent calls and emails. If you value your money and your life I'd strongly suggest going with another inspector. One star feels like too many here. read more

I was looking for a good property inspector in the Twentynine Palms area, and was shocked to find very little. A few of the ones that I did find had very little information online, or bad reviews. I stumbled across the website for Turn Key, and after a small conversation with Marion, I went with them. They met me at the time and date agreed upon, and started their work right away. Mark and Marion are very thorough, knowledgeable, and at the top of their game. This was the second home that I have purchased, and the first home inspector was not this thorough, and not this interactive. Mark and Marion basically picked the house apart foot by foot, noting every single problem. Some of the problems were minimal, but worth noting for repair and others were pretty major problems that any average person may have missed - things I missed upon my personal inspection. Mark pretty much explained every small thing to me, made sure that I understood, and even told me details on how to fix the problem(s). Mark is also super knowledgeable about SB County code, and pointed out numerous SB County code problems with the home. The inspection took about 2.5 hours, and the charge (with the extended travel time) $275.00. Not at all bad of a price, and pretty average. Mark and Marion are as professional and knowledgeable as it gets. I would not EVER use any other inspectors on any house I bought. That one star review sounds like an angrry seller because they were just doing their job lol. I've bought 4 houses and always use Mark and Marion. They use a lot of tools to do the job right. They will check the insulation in the walls and ceiling to see if its doing the job and the correct rating was used by using an infared fluke tester. They actually use an infared fluke tester on the AC and heat as well to make sure its blowing at the correct temperatures. They are amazing, use them and you will not regret it. read more
