I was googling home inspectors in Big Bear and I came across Bob Cherry on yelp. He had really good reviews so I messaged him over the weekend about getting a second opinion on plumbing and inspecting our property in general. He called me back Monday morning and was an absolute pleasure to speak with. Let me explain: Right away I could tell Bob was an expert in the area. He mentioned that he has been doing inspections in Big Bear for 37 years and he brought up terms and situations (weather specific) that were very insightful. He spoke with me about 20 minutes about the home inspection report from the other company. He did not have to do this but his genuine concern for my home buying situation was sincere. What was really cool about my conversation is I asked Bob if he'd be willing to inspect my property and give me his opinion on the total condition. He said that he would be happy to but he then offered to meet me at the property and just give tips without any fees (for free)! I was so shocked by this that I felt completely happy to leave this review and also I will be recommending him to everyone I know that needs an inspection in Big Bear. If you are considering hiring a home inspector, I would highly recommend interviewing Bob to see if he is the right fit for you.

Less than a week after closing, we pulled up the carpet in the main bedroom and found water damage. And after the storm last night, there is fresh water in the home. The wood framing the door is obviously water damaged and it was not mentioned in the report. Water was found under the kitchen sink. The wood beneath was warped, but dry. Rat droppings in a baking pan that was in the oven and droppings on the carpet in the living room.

The upstairs bathtub was not filled and tested. After the first shower, water was leaking into the downstairs ceiling. 2. The washer and upstairs bathroom drains were not inspected and water was leaking out of the sewer pipe under the house. John sent a robot under the house but didn't run the water while it was there and he didn't physically go under the house so the leak was missed. 3. The dryer vent was never tested. It was completely clogged and blocked which is one one the leading causes of household fires. My agent contacted the owner who was completely unhelpful and unsympathetic to our complaints.

I had a rat infestation in my house for about a month. I tried catching them myself but only got a couple and decided to hire the professionals. Seth took care to make sure all entrances to my house were sealed and answered various questions I had regarding the rats. As of today all of the rats are gone and I am very happy. My only complaint is the front desk not booking me properly. I had to call multiple times to confirm and book appointments. A couple appointments I told them to book me for a couple hours because I still heard rat activity midway through the process, but the front desk waved me off and booked me for a 30 minute "trap check" appointment. However, when Seth came for those appointments he took his time and spent multiple hours at my house on several occasions sealing more entrances and setting more traps. Very happy with the workers but I think the process could have been sped up if the front desk had booked the workers properly and in a more timely fashion.

Other roofing companies came in slightly lower on the bid but it was obvious they would not be fixing it right and it would be a waste of money. James came in right around what I thought it would cost. He did a lot more than I expected. He not only addressed the poor design he also replaced all the roof vents and a solar tube light. James did not try to add any last minute charges and what he quoted is what I paid. I inspected the work as he did it and I did not have any complaints. I couldn't be any happier with the work they did. These guys are very good at what they do and when it comes to redoing my entire house they will be getting my business. It is very hard to find a good contractor in Big Bear. If you need any roofing repair or replacement I fully recommend them. Take a look at the photos others have posted and you will see the quality of their work. They don't take any short cuts. They do it right the first time.

First I got a quote from Eddie and one other roofer and Eddie's price was the fairest and most professional of the two, so it was an easy decision to hire him. Eddie was booked for the next month or two, but he gave me an approximate start date, kept in touch with updates along the way and indeed they started my job pretty close to when he predicted, despite several weather delays he must have encountered on his other jobs. Eddie also pulled all necessary permits with the county. Eddie's crew is really top notch. Very friendly and hard working. They showed up on time each day. They first tore off my old roof and did a good job controlling and clearing the mess with a lot of tarps on the ground around my house. Then they replaced a few pieces of plywood on my roof that had warped over the years. One of the great things Eddie's crew also does is they replace or fix everything on your roof that needs it, including any vent pipes, flashing, drip edges and ridge vents, all of which were budgeted in his original estimate. They also seal all pipes, protrusions, and paint everything to match the roof. The final shingle installation was executed perfectly as well. Eddie Hobbs Roofing is licensed and bonded. He also includes a 5-year warranty on all workmanship. It's been 18 months since Eddie Hobbs Roofing has installed my roof and it's holding up really well without a single leak. Can't recommend Eddie Hobbs Roofing enough.

Eddie left our property so beautiful... NO nails! He and his team go thru the property with a magnetic device and pick them up... SO impressive. Additionally, our home wasn't flooded with old cigarettes etc after they spent a few weeks there (sad that this needs to be called out, but it does). I have…read moreinsurance through the California fair plan and received a letter from them stating that I needed to do some work on my roof. They had done some aerial photos and didn't like the way it looked. Anyone who's ever worked with the state knows they are not very efficient. I received a letter dated June 25. The date I opened the letter when it was received in my mailbox was July 10. It said I had 30 days to rectify the situation and if it wasn't rectified by July 25, 15 days later that I would be receiving a substantial penalty and fee increase. After asking for recommendations, David's name came up time and time again. I gave his office a call and his assistant who answered was extremely polite and very helpful. I explained the letter she said she's familiar with them and she would get David out to the house within the next day or two. She was true to her word. The next day David showed up did a roof inspection. Told me what I needed to get done and told me that he wouldn't be able to get to it for a few days because he had other jobs. Completely understandable he wrote me out an estimate and laid that out completely in the estimate so that I could send it to fair. I've heard so many things about people who work on the mountain in big bear. They work off of something called mountain time. They may show up within a couple of days of the day they told you and within a couple of hours of the time they told you. David is not that way. He's a man of his word. His company is outstanding and I would highly recommend him if you need a reliable trustworthy person to do your roof roofing. Can't give him enough stars.

I needed a home inspection on very short notice (mid May of 2019) and contacted Don based on a recommendation from my Real Estate Agent. I couldn't have been happier with the results. Don was able to meet my extremely tight schedule and did a very thorough job.
