Quick Response and Outstanding Work My wife and I are incredibly pleased by the repair work that Turn Key Remodel did. We had recently upgraded the electrical panel to our house, and the contractors who did the work left us with gaping holes in our outside stucco and damage to the drywall inside. Seeking contractors that could repair drywall and stucco, our realtor, Lynn Campbell, informed us of Turn Key Remodel, which is her go-to contractor for all things relating to home repairs, and she gave us the contact information for Mark Apicella. After providing us with an initial estimate on what it would cost to do the repairs, Mark and his crew were able to work within my wife's and my schedules and complete all the work within a week's time. Along with the quickness of their work, Mark's crew were very professional and did exceptional work. In addition, they cleaned up their work areas when they were done working, which we appreciated. With all said and done, we cannot be happier with results provided by Turn Key Remodel and would definitely be contracting with them again for remodeling work in the future. read more

I used Turn Key Remodel to remodel my kitchen and home. I have known Mark for a long time now. Mark and his team were very professional and helpful. They took care of all my needs. Turn Key Remodel is a top quality outfit. We recommend Mark Apicella and his team at Turn Key Remodel if you want the following: * Communications - The entire team goes out of their way to answer questions and keep you informed. We never had any issues getting information from them as well as keeping us apprised if there were any delays. When there was a possible issue with getting our countertops in a timely matter, Mark called himself to explain what the delay was and how they were going to deal with it. * Work quality - If it's a Turn Key employee or one of their subcontractors, the workers did a top notch job in all aspects of the job. I can't think of one aspect of the work (electrical, plumbing, drywall, flooring, cabinets, stucco (exterior)) where the workers didn't do top quality work. My wife is a detailed oriented person, and she noticed every single nick, scratch and ding. These are things that happen during installation and they took care of everything we asked, all in a timely manner. * Project management - Turn Key does what I consider an unusual but effective method to manage your project. They have a project manager that is there everyday on site keeping the work moving forward. They also have a person back in the office that communicates schedules and lets you know via text message and/or website when a subcontractor/worker is going to arrive on site. It's like having two PM's. One that does on site (operational) support and one that does the scheduling and communications. Very effective and great if you want to keep informed about what is happening with your project. Two examples of what kind of organization they are: 1) Illness - About 2 weeks into our remodel, both of us got Covid. They shut down work immediately (at our request) and resumed without delay the day after we called them back. They went out of their way to make sure they didn't delay on the project. By the end of the work, we were only about 2 weeks behind. This was mostly due to delays in getting materials, not worker availability. 2) After project support - A couple of days after the entire project was completed, we had a huge water leak in our ceiling. It damaged a big section of wall that had been re-textured and painted. We called Turn Key and they sent out their guys to come fix our wall and make it match the rest of the work. DId we pay extra for this? Yes we did. However, they coordinated a job that wasn't part of the original contract and made sure we got the same guy out to do the work (shoutout to Luis the drywall guy). Customer support for the win! read more

Mark Apicella, owner of Turn Key Remodel, went well beyond expectations with his workmanship and followup. Turn Key Remodel did a great job of remodeling our master bath and Kitchen five years ago. We had a recent problem with our shower door - I called Mark and asked for his help. He sent a worker over the SAME DAY to fix our door - even through the remodel was 5 years old. That's exceptional service and followup. Thanks Mark and TKR! I highly recommend your company. read more

We had a huge project with Turn Key! We remodeled both our indoor kitchen and our outdoor kitchen. We absolutely love the way they turned out! The best thing about Turn Key is their responsiveness. Whenever we had a question or concern either the owner, Mark, or his right hand assistant, Dianely, got right back to us. Also, the decorator they use, Kim Ahlvins, was a godsend. She reduced the amount of time I had to spend picking out all the kitchen countertops, wall, and cabinet colors, faucets, sinks, cabinet knobs, etc. I would not hesitate to tell you to use Turn Key! read more

It took many contractors before we were lucky enough to meet Mark Apicella at TurnKey Remodel. There is nothing like the satisfaction of working with a group that knows what they're doing. I love my new kitchen! I dreamed of it for years and sometimes I can't believe I have it. And the wonderful team at Turn Key brought it to life. From the first meeting with the owner, Mark, and the architect, Sam, we were impressed. Mark's staff and subcontractors were skilled, polite, hardworking, and responsive. We saw none of the bad behaviors that we'd heard about with other contractors. And the job was finished almost to the day they projected. We didn't just gut the kitchen - we torn down a wall and raised the ceiling. They also built out our attic, complete with a drop-down ladder, lighting, and more. Turn Key does quality work. Turn Key Remodel has been absolutely wonderful. They've done an amazing job. We're so appreciative to everyone involved from their contractors to their office staff. Everyone was kind, helpful and professional. They were very communicative, clean and prompt. We've never done anything like this before and they were very patient with us. They listened to any concerns we had and were quick to fix a couple of very small hiccups. Everything looks sensational and they finished right on schedule!! They're design team was the thing that really made Turn Key special. They have a wonderful eye and we would've been lost without them! Turn Key was recommended to us by a friend and we are so glad we chose them. An added bonus was being able to give back to the community and hire a contractor from our home town. read more

I recently was looking for a General Contractor to remodel some of our bathrooms in our house. I was given this information of Turn Key Remodel by someone who used to work with them. This person told me that they did good work. I set up an appointment with Turn Key Remodel and the office staff told me that I would be meeting with Mark. On the day of the walk thru, I actually met with Sam the estimator. I gave Sam the specs (layout on the wall dimension & floors) on what we wanted, but Sam made no notes on it which concerned me. We finished up our walkthru and Sam told me the I did not need to get a building permit unless I wanted to. This really concerned me. I told Sam under no circumstances was I not going to do that, but I actually had the building permit already. Sam started to backtrack and I couldn't wait to get him out of the house. When the bid actually came in, I was surprised but there were items that had TBA on them. I gave Turn Key Remodel the specs of the bathroom, how could you not figure that out, but you put TBA. We would have chose Turn Key Remodel, however, another company put their bid together better and with the comment of not needing a building permit concerned me with the kind of work that they may do. Maybe the situation would have been different if Mark was out here, but then again I won't know. read more

We've had a horrendously bad experience with this company. Extremely poor organization of our project and many empty promises. This company is constantly looking to shift the blame. Owner Mark Apicella blames others and says his subs are making him look bad. Umm, you hired them. We did not see Mark unless we insisted he come out. We had problems with nearly every aspect of our project and yet Mark, with whom we shook hands and had a contract with, would only come out to see what was going on if we insisted. We just had a major flood from a reverse osmosis faucet that his sub installed. Luckily, my husband was there and we were able to turn off the water and stop major damage from happening to our brand new cabinets and floor. We shared photos and video with Mark. His installer had blocked a drainage hole with putty and that's what caused the flood. His initial response was Turnkey is not responsible. When my husband pointed out they installed it, he backtracked and said Turnkey was. They offered to send someone else out to fix it. No, thanks. At this point, we are hiring outside people to fix their work because we don't trust them to come back. I am giving them two stars only because just getting new stuff (appliances, flooring, cabinetry) has been a huge facelift for our house. Just don't look too closely! Their markups are outrageous too. We expected some markup because we thought Turnkey would be managing things and making our life easy. What a joke! First, we did all the managing and second, their mark up was nearly 50% on things like painting. We had them start painting in our house but the painter did such a poor job, we had him stop. He showed up with the wrong paint (color and sheen), no ladder (borrowed mine), no trash bags, did not remove outlet and switch covers even after we asked him to, and even painted over our paint sample sticker. Turnkey quoted 20k to paint the house and a professional painting company that we ended up hiring (Kevin's Painting) only charged us 11k and did a gorgeous, professional job. In summary, avoid this company like a plague. When you are talking with Mark, it sounds like you will get a top notch experience instead you get a lousy one. We failed inspection the first time and have had to hire outside companies to redo their electrical, painting, plumbing, and flooring work. Look at the dates on their reviews. The good ones are years old. In going through this nightmare, we met two other families having the same experience or far worse. A guarantee means nothing if you cannot trust the company to do good work. read more

The most important qualities of a home remodel contractor are: quality of work, knowledge and professionalism, trust and reliability, fair pricing, and scheduling. Turnkey meets all of these! Everyone involved from the owner Mark, to the lead contractor Tom, to the architect Sam, were all great guys. They were friendly, patient, fair, honest, and professional. They all took the time to explain things and be very flexible with what we wanted and what they could do to make that happen. The quality of work was very good and the pricing was very competitive. Our project finished ahead of schedule and the whole process went very smoothly. I highly recommend Turnkey if you're looking for good quality work from good quality guys. READ THE ENTIRE REVIEW TO GET THE WHOLE PICTURE. I really want to be fair in my review and I hate to give a bad review. However I feel obligated to give a truthful account so that other people can make an educated choice. This 2 star review is actually NOT for poor final results at all. The finished product of our job looks good. Our projects did have several common problems (nothing unusual to construction though) all jobs have things that need to be fixed and resolved. Mark is a friendly and affable guy as were most of the Subcontractors who did the actual work at our house. However, Mark as the General Contractor (responsible party) did not supervise and inspect the job site hardly at all, unfortunately that led to many miscommunications between myself, the subs and Mark. He did underbid 3 out of 4 sections of the job, requesting extra money, which is a huge pet peeve with me. With all my Contractors I expect quotes to be extremely close to the reality unless the job takes an unexpected turn, which ours did not at all have any suprises. In my opinion, he arrived quickly for a payment but slowly to resolve a problem. I was uncomfortable enough with the lack of supervision that instead of working, I stayed home to watch over things and answer questions because of the poor communication between TurnKey and Subcontractors. This rating is SOLELY about how poor the response time was to calls and problems. I always had to call or text Mark multiple times before he responded, usually he waited until I was angry. He tended to act like he was not responsible for fixing the issues, and maybe that was just how he came off. I don't get the impression at all he is a dishonest contractor....maybe he just has a few things to learn. Our rock posts were finished in mid September (and we paid in full) I complained they were falling apart by Oct 8th (sent him pics)......it did take 2 or 3 visits for the sub to hopefully figure out the problem...the final repairs did get done yesterday April 19th. In my opinion, this was far too long for anything to drag on. Unfortunately Mark and I disagree on how to professionally resolve issues. Not how I do business at all. Now the job is finished, and in all fairness it does look good. I sincerely wish this had been a better working relationship, especially since this is my way of auditioning new Contractors for my larger current and upcoming client projects. read more

Just wanted to thank you so much for the kitchen remodel. It really looks awesome, Mark. We were especially impressed with how quickly you got the job done. When we needed to speak with you regarding questions or advice you were always quick to respond - that meant a lot to us. Your crew was always pleasant and courteous - hard workers. They did a great job and that hard work really paid off. We received one offer already, after one day on the market, and are expecting more. I'm sure this wouldn't be the case if we hadn't hired you on to do this work. Thanks to you, your staff and to your crew. It was a pleasure meeting all of you. Rebecca & Joe read more

Turn Key Remodel was truly a pleasure to work with. I had a 285 square foot upstairs room addition which is not a simple feat, but the owner Mark and his team did an amazing job. In addition to their quality workmanship and competitive pricing, for me Turn Key Remodel's greatest asset is that Mark and his team were very responsive to any questions or issues I had throughout that construction process. I would usually get a response back the same day, or if I had an inquiry late in the day, someone would get back to me the next morning. If it was a small issue, then one of Mark's team would get back to me in a timely manner, but if it was a larger questions or issue, Mark would call me himself. Mark and his entire team (from his designer Sam, to his office staff of Dianeli and Shelby) are hardworking, honest people who I would gladly hire again. read more

Mark Apicella and crew with Turnkey Remodel are awesome. They were easy to work with, stayed on schedule and price and gave us our amazing master remodel. Additionally they did some work for us adding a new front door and window. Mark made sure to walk us through the most cost effective way of doing our remodel but not lacking in quality. I can't say enough good things about Mark and his team at Turn Key Remodel. They came highly recommended to me from a neighbor and now I'm recommending them. Our kitchen remodel turned out beautiful and we couldn't be happier. Mark is very professional and reliable. I enlisted Turn Key Remodel to certify room additions which the previous owner did not obtain the proper permits. The process was painfully long from start to finish. It took over 10 months from the start of the required drawings to final sign-off by the building inspector. Part of that time (3 months) were spent waiting for plan/drawing approval. Once the plans had been approved, Turn Key made steady progress even with some unexpected requests from the building inspectors which delayed the process for about several weeks and increased the costs. In the end, the price was fair even though the unexpected cost arose. The construction work was good. The crew was professional and properly covered everything to minimize any construction disruptions. Overall, I am satisfied with the results; and Turn Key Remodel gets a positive rating. read more

My wife and I recently contracted with Turn Key Remodel to have our kitchen upgraded with granite counters, travertine tile backsplash, and under cabinet lighting. We must say to anyone reading this review that the quality and workmanship far exceeded our expectations. We could not be happier with the transformation of our kitchen. The granite has outstanding motion, the travertine added the perfect contrast, and the under cabinet lighting brought it all together. Working with Mark Apicella was effortless. He helped us with the design, material selection, and color combinations. This was very helpful, as we have never tackled a kitchen remodel before. Mark directed us to outstanding wholesalers for granite and tile along with specific contacts. The process for selecting the granite and tile was straightforward and painless. The entire installation took only six days, which minimized our kitchen downtime. Mark's granite and tile installers were awesome. They demonstrated craftsmanship and always took the time to answer my questions, which I had many. Mark's electrician installed a separate switch for the under cabinet lighting and consulted with us on options and location. We would definitely recommend Turn Key Remodel and we will have them do our next remodel. read more

The consultation that Mark and Sam did for us is exceptional to anyone that we've talked to thus far. The communication is clear. The process is thorough. All sorts of scenarios are offered. They spent alot of time at the house (1.5 hours) AND a sketch was drawn up which especially helped me visualize the dream kitchen I've always wanted. Call them out for a consultation! I had removed a hanging cabinet in my kitchen over my peninislua and once the cabinet was removed we noticed there was areas of the ceiling that needed to be retextured to match with the current ceiling. After Turn Key Remodel came in, you'd never even know there was a cabinet that used to be there because the ceiling texture was done flawlessly. Thank you to Mark and his Crew. After three contractors (yes THREE) completely ripped me off by either vanishing and never finishing work or doing such shoddy work that everything they did needed to be torn out and re-done. A little over 3 years ago we had Mark and his folks remodel our entire house, inside and out, except the master bedroom and master bathroom. Earlier this year we decided to complete the project and once again went with Turn Key Remodel as our choice. Mark and his crews started the project on time, kept the area as clean as possible and completed projects on time, or kept us informed if something was going to take a little longer than expected. Although not the cheapest bid, Mark was very competitive, honest and fair in his pricing. As we made several changes and additions to the project, Mark and the office staff were always prompt with change orders and continually kept us up to date with a current schedule of payments. Although we spent a bit more than we should have (our choice) on a bed/bath remodel it was worth it to us to use higher end materials, and Turn Key's team of craftsmen made our dream come to life. We plan to stay in our house for many years to come and Mark and Turn Key Remodel have helped transform it into the house of our dreams read more
