Went to Turner baking Company, today for the first time. I've heard nothing but good things. We ordered raspberry tart, sausage turnover and 3 cookies for around $17! Grab some specialty coffee from Storm coffee in town got in our car and headed down the road for a long road trip. Popped open the goods and immediately was met with disappointment . The raspberry tart was ice cold and hard maybe partially frozen? Likewise, the sausage turnover was very cold inside. Not sure if that's how they sell them. In my opinion they should offer to at least heat them up or warn the customer that they're not ready to eat. On the good side, the chocolate chip cookies were delicious. Unfortunately, we were too far down the road and did not have time to return. This is not a condemnation on Turner bakery because I've heard nothing but fabulous things but this was just our first experience unfortunately but we will be back but we will ask more questions obviously . Not sure if these are refrigerated from the previous day or night or they got that cold from opening till 11 AM when we picked them up? Stopped by early on a Sunday morning, about 20 minutes after opening, and there was already a short line to order. The interior was bright and kind of barn/farmhouse chic. Service was quick and friendly. I went with a cinnamon roll, two plain bagels, and two cookies: one ultimate chocolate chip and one peanut butter. I also got cream cheese for the bagel. The cinnamon roll was huge, pillowy, and very delicious. It was a little light on the cinnamon for my tastes, but I would definitely get it again. The bagels were pretty good. Nothing amazing, but a solid bagel chewy texture with good flavor. The cream cheese seemed to be whipped, which was a thoughtful touch. The cookies were huge, and both had a nice soft texture and rich flavor. The ultimate chocolate chip seemed to have maybe a caramel swirl along with chocolate chips. Very decadent! And the peanut butter was rich and chewy, with good peanut butter flavor. This place is a bit of a drive from me, but I will definitely be back some Sunday in the future to try some more of their extensive and tasty offerings. read more

We stopped here after breakfast at the outstanding turnaround cafe. My wife and I had the feta and spinach hand pie and it was amazing! The flavor was wonderful, the atmosphere is classic bakery and the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. They had an assortment of breads, cookies and other baked goods. We also bought a dog treat that our pug loved! If you are in the area you must stop here! read more

We love coming here every time we're in Turner. They have a wide selection of pastries and breads, so it's always really hard to choose. A couple of our favorites are the iced pumpkin cookies and the cinnamon rolls. Yum! We'll be back. read more

How did I not know this fantastic little bakery existed? My daughter and I went on a Saturday morning & tried all kinds of treats. Loved them all especially their pastries & sourdough loaf! This was a quick stop this morning to grab a to go bite. I haven't visited Turner to eat in quite a while and was surprised and delighted to see this little bakery as I did not have time for a sit down. The building is tucked back a bit but easy to get in and out off. Inside both looked and smelled great. There were quite a few selections including sweet and savory offerings as well as fresh bread. I opted for their ham and cheese turnover and chocolate dipped Belgian waffle. My daughter got the spinach and feta turnover as well as the spinach quiche. I also grabbed a focaccia with olives and garlic. The turnover was great. I am not sure if they offer a heat up option but it was easy enough to pop in the microwave. The waffle was good as well but again, cold so more of a on the go snack. I like that the chocolate was dark, it toned down the sweetness. My daughter loved both of their spinach offerings and said she would have loved a bit of tomato in the turnover just to punch the flavor but liked the addition of the artichoke just as much. The star was the focaccia though. The tangy olives with the garlic and that crispy but soft texture was spot on. I will definitely be back to try the tarts and cookies when I have the chance. read more

Read about this new (SEP 2019?) bakery in the Statesman Journal and just had to try it. I drove over to Turner and found it next door to the cafe and was very glad that I made the trip. The bakery was very pleasant and cozy. Amy helped me with my order and made me a Cappuccino and heated up a couple of pastries to enjoy there in the bakery with my coffee. I took home a slew of cookies (chocolate marshmallow, oatmeal/raisin/cranberry, ultimate/everything, and key lime). Amy gave me a free sample of the salted caramel brownie, a loaf of the raisin bread baked that morning, and even a freshly baked loaf of sourdough that I'm looking forward to eating. The day we ate at the Turner Cafe (just next door to the cafe), we ran over to the bakery first, before they closed at noon and purchased a myriad of yummy cookies and a salted caramel brownie. We also purchased a few bagels which I may just leave in my car, they smell so good! Two thumbs up for this great bakery. read more

Turner Baking Co. Is the best around and deserves 5 stars. Great customer service and a free chocolate cupcake. Bought them out of their bagels. Sorry folks but they are too yummy to miss. The only make them fresh Sunday morning. I got there at 10 am and they were nearly sold out of a lot. Their goods are simply sublime. Cute little bakery that sits back off the main road a bit (parking area in back). Went earlier on a Sunday as that's the only day they make bagels. Hubby got a cinnamon roll and I got a toasted everything bagel with cc. Both did not disappoint. Everything they had in their showcase looked wonderful and tasty. We enjoyed a little table inside to stay warm. Be aware that they are only open Thursday-Sunday and close at Noon those days. We will definitely be back. read more
