Hidden gem!!!!!!!!! I've been wanting to try Julieta taco shop for years. I recently learned this place is next door, and they even have a little window that they will pass your taco order through. So, we gave it a try. What a pleasant surprise. This area of the Stutz building is so nice! It has a delightful little courtyard. Turner's has such a great vibe. Sort of a dive bar feel, but very clean, comfortable, and with great craft cocktails. Staff were fun and friendly! The music was good. Decor and chairs were awesome! Part of me thinks it would be cool if more businesses came to this little area, but I don't want it to lose its quaint special feel. The location makes it more difficult to visit again since it isn't near a lot, but I will definitely try and make it back in!! read more

We stopped by Turner's while attending an event at The Stutz. After debating venturing out into winter weather and playing the downtown parking hunger games, we decided staying in the building was the move. Convenience: 10/10. Turner's itself is a good sized establishment with a pool table and a few different seating areas, which makes it feel like a solid spot to hang out whether you're there for drinks, food, or killing time before an event. They also have a cut out window where you can order Julieta Tacos, which is a really cool option if you want to mix things up food wise without leaving the space. We grabbed seats at the bar where a bartender (didn't catch her name) greeted us and handed over menus. I mentioned we were there for the Devour menu and was told it was over... which was interesting since Turner's website was still advertising it earlier that same morning. After a quick check with a manager, they honored it, which we definitely appreciated because nothing says "Devour disappointment" like ghosted food promos. The Devour deal included a hot dog, chips, and a cocktail. I ordered the Miami Vice and honestly, no notes. Solid drink. We also got to pick snack sized chip bags hanging behind the bar, which felt a little like choosing snacks at a gas station, but hey, variety is variety. Now for the plot twist... We were told our hot dogs were ready and to grab them from the warmer. Exciting, right? Except when we opened the warmer, the foil wrapped hot dogs were... cold. Cold. Like they, too, were braving the Indiana winter. When we let staff know, there was a bit of a team huddle on how to handle it, which felt slightly awkward and unorganized. It also felt like we accidentally became "those customers," simply for wanting our hot dogs to be warm. Thankfully, another bartender, Andre, stepped in like the calm in the storm. He got fresh hot dogs warmed up and brought them out and he continued checking on us for the rest of our visit, which honestly saved the experience. Overall: Cocktails were good, the location is super convenient if you're already at The Stutz, and shoutout to Andre for turning things around! That said, I can probably check Turner's off my list and doubt I'll make a trip back unless I'm already at The Stutz & if I do return, it would likely be for drinks only! read more

Tacos AND a yummy cocktail... best of both worlds. Turners is a cute lil "hole in the wall" with a chill vibe. Pool tables and lots of people playing cards. I feel like Turner's Bar needs a little bit of an explanation. Turner's is a bar that is located next door to Julieta Taco Shop. This bar shares a window with the taco shop. You can order your food at Julieta, walk next door to Turner's and take a seat at the bar or one of the multiple tables and booths. When your food is ready, a person at Julieta will yell your name from the window, and you can pick up your food at the window and go sit back down and enjoy your meal. Now, it's not explicitly stated, but Turner's is counting on you ordering a drink (alcohol or soft drink, they have both). They don't really want you to just eat your food and take up their tables. I learned this as I was just eating my food and taking up a table. I knew that Turner's was a bar, but I was under the impression that the space was also shared with Julieta. It is not. I believe they're just working together for the benefit of each other. The rub is: There seemed to be more people who were just eating food and taking up tables, and not too many people who stopped at the bar to get a drink. (I visited during lunchtime.) The bartender was very kind, but when he asked me if I wanted anything to drink and I just said water, he looked a little exasperated. So I tipped him for serving me a glass of water, and he looked relieved. So, I guess for those who, like me, didn't know what's up with the extra seating next door to Julieta: it's not extra seating, it's an actual separate establishment, and you should only sit there and eat your Julieta food if you're going to also buy a drink there. I absolutely adore Turner's and it's one of the places I frequent most in Indy. I don't know if it's considered a dive bar, but it's the perfect size with plenty of seating without being huge. They don't serve anything incredibly fancy, but that's not to say they don't serve a great cocktail. They have monthly cocktail specials that are fun and a play on things going on in pop culture/seasonal/events in Indy. A huge perk is the $1 hot dogs and the window to Julieta's tacos. You can't go wrong with a cocktail, hot dogs and taco combo. The staff is always great and friendly. They oftentimes have special events which are always a fun time. Turner's is a bar located in the old Stutz manufacturing facility downtown Indy and each time I have been there the bartender and staff have been so friendly. This time we ordered tacos from Julieta's Taco Shop next door and told them we were going to Turner's next door and they said go ahead on over and there is a pass through to the bar to give us our food and we could eat in the bar. That was pretty awesome. Sometimes in decent weather the big overhead garage door is open near the pool table for a nice view and breeze. Small cocktail menu but I have liked the drinks I have had here. I will definitely be coming back here on my next trip to the Stutz building which by the way is stunning. I recently discovered a new-to-me artist, IG: keith_beatty , he reposted that he'd be playing at Turner's... I got a few friends together for the event and we discovered Turner's in the process. This is a great venue! The ambience is laidback, industrial, with eclectic vintage vibes. For those of you who like comparisons, it gives Hotel Tango meets Hard Truth with a twist. There's a sunken, pool table area, cozy couch nook, bar seating, locker room style picnic table bench seating(this is were the artist/entertainment is set up) and high-tops in the bar area... lots of seating options to accommodate all comfort levels. I tend to ver away from bars because of the drink selections. Typical bars offer hard liquor, beer, no cocktail menu but offer to make you anything as long as you can tell them how(insert eye roll :D )... Turner's has an extensive cocktail menu and they're GOOD! They also have an onsite kitchen. My friends and I did not eat here but were told by others that the tacos were REALLY good. *edit: correction* The tacos were made by the business next door, Julieta Taco Shop, they take orders via a window on their shared wall with Turner's. This is REALLY cool! Love the innovative collaboration between these businesses! Turners is also only a block from my downtown office, making it perfect for a HaPpY Hour meet up, I will definitely be back! One important design aspect to note is that the restrooms are not in Turner's, you exist Turner's to the outdoor foyer type area and they are along the right side. I circled the restroom signage in one of my photos. It was well lit, I didn't get sketchy vibes the Friday evening I was there, but definitely something to make a mental note of. read more

Fantastic place and such a great addition to the north downtown area! When you walk in it feels very warm and welcoming. Music is playing not overly loud so you can actually hear the person talking that you are with. They have tons of seating, couches, bar, booths and tables. Take your pick. The cool thing is they also have a person cooking hot dogs and hamburgers on site by the garage door so you can smell it as soon as you walk in. It makes you want one. Those are the inky zero things on their menu but you can order chips at the bar if you want something else. The person cooking came up to me and my friend and asked if we wanted something, and it made it right there and brought it to us. They have a condiment station for you to dress up your burger or hotdogs if you want. The y have a good amount of liquor choices that isn't over priced. My drink was just $8! They also provided free nuts which is an excellent touch. Several different people came to check on us throughout our visit making sure we were good which was nice. They have a garage door that is open so you can see the outside while drinking and eating. Such a great place and this will be my regular spot moving forward! read more

This is such a neat bar in the old Stutz building (it might be the only bar because I don't know if Bearcatz is still open). This is where you go for some serious stuff drinks out cocktails with no froo-froo food to go with them. You can get a hot dog here and that's it. Seriously. It's offered in a tongue-in-cheek manner, but didn't stop me from offering one. Another Sahm gem. Turner's gives you all the Friends vibes, where everyone knows your name. It's a great spot for an affordable drink. They don't have local spirits which is a bummer but they do have local beer and cider. They have $1 hotdogs for my carnivore friends and cheap chips that aren't healthy for you at all but will cure your evening munchies. The cocktails are superior though and if only they had some local whiskey for them they'd make my top 5 old-fashioned list. But they do have good ice cubes and good bourbon cherries. Plus if you get here before 8 you can order from Julietta's taco shop next door. They often have live music or trivia, there's pool and other card games to play. It is a bit chilly in here during the winter with little soft surfaces so bring a cozy sweater. Summer is wonderful as the garage doors open wide. read more

My first time visiting Turner's was this past weekend. It gave me small neighborhood bar vibes, with fancy drinks! It wasn't busy and was very easy to get a drink. The bartender was super nice and attentive. They were playing R&B/Hip Hop during my visit, which I liked, and the music wasn't loud at all so you could talk quietly among your friends. I've been here twice now. Both times, the bartenders were really fun and helped me choose the perfect cocktail. They are also connected to a little taco restaurant, so you can grab tacos to pair with your drink. Funny enough, Turner's sells hot dogs, too. Their drinks are super affordable and I love the fact that the bar patrons are largely in their mid-twenties/early thirties. Park is cheap and easy (right off Senate) and the area is safe at night.
