Sharon is excellent! She is thorough, explains things well, and asks questions to clarify or "connect the dots". At each session, she goes over how you're feeling - mentally, physically, emotionally, and overall - to "check in". She also asks how you felt after the prior session, whether there's anything "new" going on (even if it's a sniffle). Then she brings out the needles (which, be assured, do not hurt...and I say that as someone who refuses to look at needles at the doctor's office because they make me uncomfortable), puts them in, and leaves you on the table with the needles in to do their work. I always feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and "reset" after a session...and that's on top of my "original" symptoms getting better. One thing to note: acupuncture is unlikely to "fix" whatever is going on with you in one session, so lying on the table thinking "is this making me better" isn't constructive. Go in with the attitude of giving it a try, trusting that it can help, and figuring that - at the very least - you'll have a relaxing, comfortable time to think about nothing...and you'll come out feeling good. If you've never had acupuncture and want to give it a try for something that you have going on, seize the opportunity and do it. Sharon is an excellent practitioner and she will explain everything that she suggests in order to get you comfortable with her recommended course of treatment. I was in need of sleep, reducing stress, muscle tension and finding an alternative method of managing menopausal symptoms. Acupuncture has proven to be a miracle! Sharon's warm presence made is easier to talk about my 'uncomfortable condition'. She's a good listener and is thoughtful about planning each treatment. I love this place! I am not usually the type of person that writes reviews but this is worth it because i feel it can help others. I have been going to Turning Leaf Acupuncture for about 3 years and it has helped me incredibly on 4 main points digestion, stress, period regulation (no birth control or chemicals needed) and tendinitis. Sharon Bacigalupi and Christopher Tadeu are very professional and have their own strengths. They practice different type of acupuncture with great results. Period regulation took about 2 to 3 months of twice a month cramps pain went always almost completely and it got regulated to every 30 days. Stress and digestion was kind of connected. They recommended me ginger tea plus acupuncture. Tendinitis on my right hand, it was a mix of bad circulation and tons of traveling with heavy carry on. Chris gave me few extra advice of benefits of goji berry, exercise and diet combined with weekly acupuncture. I believe that for tendinitis i had to change many things to cure it without surgery. Chris suggested to go more often and it helped a great deal. Turning Leaf also have connection with other people so they share information about herbs that may help as well and topic medicine that helps with the pain. I have been coming to see Sharon and Chi for over 18 months now. They were instrumental in helping me throughout my IVF treatment and pregnancy and now I see them as I prepare my body for another cycle of IVF. I turned to acupuncture as a last resort to address shoulder issues that had been ongoing for about 10 years. When I had my first treatment with Chris Tadeu he said that it could take up to 12 sessions to address orthopedic issues. But, miraculously, I experienced amazing improvement after the first session. After years of pain doing simple tasks such as putting on clothing, reaching for something on a high shelf, and buckling a car seat belt, I suddenly found that I could do these things with no pain. My highly restricted range of motion increased dramatically, and I felt years younger. My trainer at the gym remarked at the improvement and was pleased that I found a type of body work to help me. I've had shoulder pain for quite a while, and after going to my primary doctor and then a physical therapist without any luck, I decided to try acupuncture for the first time. I was skeptic at first, but after Sharon explained that acupuncture had been around for thousands of years...I began to think that maybe there was something to it. After 1 treatment, my range of motion increased, and after 3, my pain was gone! Amazing!
