I just my first visit with Chiropractic and it was AMAZING. The chiropractor was very through in the initial examination; we talked about all the issues I was experiencing with my body. He then immediately proceeded to adjust me. It felt amazing! He then hooked me up to some sort of electric impulse machine and left me in the room. I felt it work, my muscles were contracting but it was so relaxing at the same point. Later in the day I discovered that my neck was not hurting any more. been to many chiropractors in the island, had been given all options to be treated and had a chiropractor advised me do a plan which cost thousands of dollars to keep yoor loyalty to them from going. This just make me think that they are just for bisiness and not helping their patients. I suffer from extreme TMJ (which I guess explains why my food reviews are down, haha) and my physician had let me know that maybe I should see a chiropractor for my jaw since I can barely open it. Thankfully, I was able to find Turning Point Chiropractic which is close to home and takes insurance (if you have HMAA, I highly recommend calling them if your specific plan covers chiropractic care). If you have a hard time finding their office, they are located above the UPS store in the Laniakea Plaza next to Costco Waipio. The elevator and stairs are to the left of the UPS store. My first visit, I was a little apprehensive because I've never heard of chiropractic care for TMJ, but the staff at Turning Point Chiropractic were very detail oriented. Since I was a first time patient, I came in early to fill out the paperwork. Once that is completed, they take you to the back room so you can watch an informative video on chiropractic care. The video was very detailed and even answered the most frequently asked questions regarding chiropractic care. When the video is over, you will be greeted by the doctor that is going to help you. Luckily for me, it was Dr. Tanner who was very knowledgeable and patient. In the exam room, Dr. Tanner was very thorough and asked questions regarding my condition. He examined me thorough and explained each step of what he was doing and even recommended a care plan for me for the next few months and how to manage my condition currently. Today was my first time coming to Turning Point Chiropractic and I absolutely loved it! The environment is so welcoming from the moment you walk in to the end! The people at the desk are extremely helpful and informative, my mother comes here regularly and had a change in insurance before our appointment today and they called us in advance to discuss it. They played me a welcome video that really helped to calm my nerves being that it was my first time. It answered almost all the questions I had about how things would go and what to expect. Been going here for almost a year now and I'm glad I got referred here by my doctor. The staff here are great and very friendly. As soon as you walk in you're greeted by Marissa who checks in the patients/clients. I was first seeing Dr. Norm but now I see Dr. Moss. They both listened to the things that were bothering me from Migraines, Back, Shoulder and Neck pain. Big help with the adjustments. There are times where I would need to get adjusted last minute and they usually have no problem accommodating me to fit in their schedule. Just make sure to call ahead. I've also had conflicting schedules last minute or stuck in traffic and Marissa has always helped out to get me rescheduled in a timely manner. Ever since I started my desk job, I have been getting terrible tension headaches/neck aches. Ever since I came here to Turning Point Chiropractic, I have a substantial lessening in pain from tension headaches/neck aches. The receptionist, Marissa, is so nice, very accommodating, and very friendly! Scheduling and making appointments is easy and quick, plus I get reminder texts, the day before, letting me know I have an appointment. Dr. Moss is the amazing!! I would explain to him where my pain is in my neck and head, he would carefully examine where the pain is and does treatments that factor into alleviating the pain and pinpointing where my pain is coming from. He also lets me know things I can do at home that we help stretch the areas in my neck and shoulders that cause these tension issues. This is the first chiropractor I been too and turning point did a great job of explaining the process of getting to a healthier state. I came because I had pain due to a shoulder injury/ upper back. I just had my first visit today and Dr. Norm is hands down the best! I had an ongoing issue with my lower back since my cheerleading days in addition to having kids. I was on vacation on Oahu at Ko Olina and tweaked my back somehow (scuba, snorkeling, swimming). It made me limp at first, but quickly degraded into a bad limp and a numb right leg with a shooting pain that was unbearable, even sitting. I Yelped for the best rated chiropractor in the area and Turning Point popped up. I made an appointment and met with Dr Dean Shivvers. I described my symptoms and activities leading up to the near inability to walk. He did an assessment, described what he thought it was with some diagrams and 3-D models. Once he was sure what it was, he told me what he was about to do, which was a vertebrae realignment of the upper and lower spine. As soon as the last "crack" sounded I had immediate relief and and was able to get up and walk around without any pain. If you haven't been to a chiropractor the term "crack" sounds bad. Anyone who has been to a chiropractor knows that's the sound of relief! Dr. Shivvers is an easy-going, personable man who knows his trade. He listens to you, diagnoses your condition, answers all your questions, and provides you with post-treatment home care . Calling around fraticly trying to find someone who could take me that morning since I was in severe pain from sleeping wrong. I had somehow popped my neck out of place and I had limited mobility in my neck/ shoulders. Dr. Dean usually doesn't do same day (from what i was told) adjustments but after talking with me, seeing how much pain and immobile I was, he adjusted me and put a plan together to get me back to feeling great again.
