We are visiting family and staying at the hotel across the way. I grew up in this area, though, and am familiar with Turning Point. We came to this location twice during our stay and everything is excellent here. The first visit we had a little hiccup with our order but all was handled very professionally. The food is great. My favorite is the GOAT omelette. So tasty. But everything seems to be good here, according to all of my family members who ordered various things. We love the outdoor patio. I'm not local anymore but hopefully they get heat lamps so customers can continue to enjoy the fresh air outdoors while they eat. One of the reasons I left NJ was to spend more time outdoors in a different climate- so it's good to see the newer restaurants catering to the outdoors crowd and having outdoor spaces to eat! read more

First time eating at one of their locations. This is a very clean cozy comfortable restaurant. Service was prompt and very friendly. Menu has many viable options. I'm guarded on pricier upscale breakfast places but this place delivers on quality and taste and service ! Sorry to say Turning Point has lost it's direction - used to be so good, food prepared well and good quality - but no longer. The last 2 times we were there the quality and food prep was terrible. The panini was dry and practically no filling. The breakfast potatoes are made from frozen potatoes and are not fresh tasting at all - tasteless and hard. The last time we were there (last week) the waitress brought me an eggs benedict dish which I did not order (I ordered a different eggs benedict dish) - it had mushy corn bread and the overall dish was a failure. I guess they are trying to keep their prices competitive, which is commendable, but not at the sacrifice of food quality and taste. There are many other very good breakfast places at the shore to have a great breakfast at! read more

I'm a big fan of this Turning Point location. Always love the food and coffee drinks and it's a nice atmosphere, too. They're typically packed, so don't come in a rush. The service is always friendly, although sometimes slow (likely because they're so busy). I was very excited to try this place! Very disappointed. Not sure what the hype is or was about. Fellow diner and I wanted to try much praised pancakes so we shared a stack as appetizer. Not at all impressed. Basic nothing special. The syrup wasnt anything special either the bottle it was in was sticky and gross! Also ordered cold brew which was good came with a carafe to refill as well as a coffee ice cube which was interesting. I ordered chick salad sandwich and fellow diner ordered avocado toast. Neither of us finished. Chicken salad has large chunks of chicken craisins and walnuts maybe??? Zero flavor a bit too much mayo for me. Best part of sandwich was the wheat bread! Avocado toast looked good fellow diner reports lemon zest was a little overwhelming as it was on the tomatoes. Not sure I would dine here again. Service was fine atmosphere also fine. I have been to the turning point in Hoboken and was always a fan but it was always so far! My mom and I went in on a Sunday and I expected it to be packed. For bigger parties there was a bit of a wait but for a table of two we sat right down! Everything is clean and the decor is very cute. I am a big fan of French pressed coffee and was very excited this was an option. I also ordered one of the Benedict's. The eggs were perfectly poached. My mom ordered the frittata and loved it. I am very excited that there is a breakfast place so close to home. I will be back. read more

I've been to this restaurant many times but will not be returning. It was a miserable lunch experience today. It started with a grumpy and decidedly hostile hostess who allowed us to change from the table she wanted to seat us at to a table near the fireplace on this cold day. The place wasn't crowded but she certainly seemed annoyed that we asked to be seated elsewhere before we even sat down! She flung the menus on the table and stomped away without acknowledging my "Thank You"! Then, my meal of eggs with a side salad was served but the salad was wilted and riddled with slimy lettuce. I asked for the lettuce to be removed from my plate but my whole plate was taken away and to be remade with a side of potatoes (or I could have had Romaine lettuce - I guess all of the spring mix was decaying?). My lunch mate had finished his entire meal before my food was returned this time, WITHOUT a replacement fork and knife. The server was MIA and didn't return so after a few minutes, I had to go steal a place setting from a vacant table. Finally, my request for additional milk for my coffee was never filled. All together ~ it was a most unpleasant dining outing. None of it should have happened. read more

My first time, actually had never heard of it. It was super busy on a Sunday late morning but our table of 8 was seated quick. Everything was great from the service to the food. Seated fast, drinks came out after about 8 minutes of waiting. we thought nothing of it, but little did we know our service wouldn't be the top tier we expected. We ordered 2 pancakes and 1 French toast and 1 waffle. we asked for Wheat toast, and they came out with rye. the bacon on the side was hard, burnt, and way too crunchy. the restaurant felt homey and warm and welcoming, but also all the waiters seemed frantic. but the restaurant was halfway empty. none of the breakfasts came with butter. after we asked 3 times for the butter. which I thought came on it anyway. the pancakes were dry, and the waffle that I asked with strawberries came with 4 strawberry slices. The staff looked very unkept as if they rolled out of bed and hair not tired back .. they were scratching their hair ears and not washing their hands . Turning point was my favorite place, reliable good food good atmosphere. Unfortunately January 1st 2025 start the new year off with Turning point was a big disappointment. Understaffed, seems like kitchen staff didn't show up, no bus boys, food was burnt, eggshells in my omelet, no utensils till you ask. Severs cutting potatoes but they were still raw. I felt horrible for the severs and staff that showed up trying to perform their task under the circumstances. Hopefully the owner and manager see the loyalty in those that showed up to work.
