Yesterday my car died…read more Straight up DIED-- On the highway on my way to work, smoke was coming out from under the hood, and the car started slowing down by itself. I pulled over, shut the car off, calmed myself down, tried to turn it back on... and it wouldn't start back up. After I got a ride to work (which is another story in itself), had my car towed from off the highway, and had it looked at... I was told the motor was blown. That's definitely not worth the money to fix. My car was now a piece of scrap metal, ready for the junk yard. In comes T-Rex Recycling. They made this distressing and inconvenient situation go away as quickly and as smoothly as possible. They picked my car up directly from the auto shop, helped me get my stuff out of my car, took the plates off for me, and gave me $100 cash for the junk car. All I had to do was sign the paperwork. We submitted a tow request ticket on the AAA app, and Rapid Recovery Towing arrived at our location in about 18 minutes with a flatbed tow truck. They took pictures of the car before loading it onto the truck. Due to the relatively late hour (as most auto shops close early on the weekends), they couldn't take our car back to Queens, NY right away, but told us they would keep the car in their storage facility overnight and transport the car the next morning to our chosen auto repair shop. Rapid Recovery Towing called the next morning to let us know when they were on the road and their approximate arrival time, followed by another call when they were about 10 minutes away from the auto repair shop. Rapid Recovery Towing had also called the auto repair shop to inform that our car would be arriving, and of the issue with the car.
