My Oral-B dies within three or four brushing! I know they didn't give me a new battery when my Oral-B Battery died within warranty period. I think it was less than a year with the two-year warranty. I inherited a Cuisinart food processor that was much nicer than the one I already had. The only problem was that it came with NO BLADES. I did an online search that lead me to smallappliance.com. I placed an order for the blade I use the most, and it arrived after a very short time. When I called the company, I spoke to Renata, who was extremely helpful in sending me a link to all the other parts that would fit the model I have. Looking at other reviews, the warnings about poor customer service and poor communication continue to be a problem. I sent my item through Braun's repair portal and I had not heard back after 4 weeks. I contacted Braun who stated they had no update on my repair. Today, I received a rude phone call from one of the representatives at the repair center. She had mentioned she had tried reaching me multiple times with no response. I mentioned in the age of spam calls, many calls are automatically being filtered and that additionally communicating via written email would be to great benefit. I was scoffed at and told they don't do written communication especially because they only do payments over the phone. That seems a bit ridiculous to me that a business isn't adapting to written contact in the year 2022 and that they don't have a secure online payment portal. It's really not that difficult to send price quotes in email as many other businesses do today. Overall, stay away. Poor communication and rude customer service. Go with another business. read more

This company is the worst. I sent my iron to them. A month later they said they hadn't looked at it cuz I didn't pay a fee they never told me about. So I paid fee. Crickets. I called. They don't answer. Goes to music forever. Finally got an email response. They didn't get a check. They apparently wants me to send them more money? But no bill to me or estimate. I call more. Last March we sent in our Krups coffeemaker for repair. It cost $300 to repair. It was returned in July UPS delivered it during a rain storm. They didn't ring the bell. It sat out all night. We found a soaked box the following morning. When we opened it there were a couple broken plastic pieces. We were able to use it for 5 days when it stopped working. We contacted Ranata, she said to file a claim with UPS. We took it there and they said the sender files the claim. We mail the coffeemaker back. Ranata said they would cover the labor which would be $80 and we would pay $60 if UPS denied it. There was a short in the coffee mill because it got wet. Again we send it and wait 10 weeks for the part. I email Ranata to ask about the broken plastic tray. I get no response. I call her to ask and she tells me she is tired of talking to me. She said she would put me on hold. I sent the check for $60 and we never heard back. I called she said the check never came . I had called BBB because wouldn't talk to me. She was screaming at me because I called BBB. She said it would cost $400 now for the repair and she threw out the coffeemaker. After waiting 3 weeks, I emailed to find out why my order hadn't arrived. Their email auto-reply in March 2021 said that they weren't answering emails due to Covid. A year into the pandemic, and that's their excuse? They also weren't answering their phone. I finally gave up and ordered the part elsewhere. ELEVEN MONTHS LATER, they charged my credit card and shipped something. I can't speak to whether the box even contained the part in new condition as ordered, because I refused delivery. What I can say with certainty is that if you have ever ordered anything from these people, you should report your card and get a new number. At first they were a little hesitant, but after some discussion they said okay and I was very satisfied.They we're also the only one on Long Island authorized to repair an Italian ice cream maker that my daughter owned. Next time grinder broke (still in warranty) and they sent us different refurbished machine with different label number. Beware if you think you are doing business with Turnpike Appliance. Smallappliance (yes all one word) evidently bought a reputable business. I ordered a replacement insert for my slow cooker from them thinking I was supporting a small business paying $36.98 (plus approx $10 for shipping). It was to be "NEW". What I received was in a box, obviously damaged in transit (there was an "inspected" tag on it along with an American Airlines cargo shipping tag), then packaged in a new box (along with the damaged box) and mailed to be from Smallappliance. Luckily, I have learned to take pictures when I see damage and I did so. When I got to the product, it was bent, cut and slightly scratched on the bottom. The large cut in the nonstick finish appeared to correspond to one of the cuts in the original box made with a box cutter. I called and was told to send pictures. I did. I was told they "had had no idea how this had happened" but they would make a "one time exception" to replace it or refund my money but I would have to return it. No problem, send me a free return label. "We don't do that." I argued and got nowhere. So I returned the item, along with pictures, and letter of explanation from square one. The return shipping cost me $25 I heard nothing for over a month until I emailed asking about my refund. I received a zero balance copy of my order. But no refund to my account. More emailing and another month of back and forth and they ask me to call customer service "to discuss." After telling them to "put it in writing because I want a record" and waiting 2 days, I ended up with a $17.50 refund. ??? Right? So it has cost me $53.48 to get nothing but frustrated with these cheats. Be aware. read more

I ordered a part from here over 3 weeks ago and had not gotten any update. There is no way to check on the order status unless you have an account with their system. I emailed them and got an auto-response that they are not responding to emails so finally I called during their business hours. They did not even have the part on hand (the website does not indicate it's out of stock). I said it was misleading to say that they ship the next business day and they said oh bc of covid shipping times are longer. They get the part in later this week, supposedly, so another week to wait (at least). HEADS UP !! - THIS Turnpike Appliance ( Lawson Blvd,Oceanside ) is NOT the one getting all the bad reviews - THEY'RE GREAT .. Turnpike used to be a small chain with 4-5 stores, and then the owner retired and it split up into separate stores with separate owners, with very different attitudes toward their customers. My wife is a seamstress, so she uses Rowenta irons, steamers, etc all day long. We've been going to see Dave (the owner) and Mark and Tom ( the iron heart surgeons ) for years. They've ALWAYS given us good honest friendly advice, great repairs, suggestions on which models to buy and which to avoid, and decent prices. And we know many people who go to the Oceanside TA, and nowhere else. These (Oceanside) are people you can trust, who treat you fair. And as a note to those people who don't know what goes on behind the scenes, the MANUFACTURERS are to blame for many of the problems - THEY ship the wrong part, or ship in 4 to 5 WEEKS, or "it's out of stock, and we don't know when we'll have more", or they just make a lemon model. Unfortunately TA gets blamed for something they have no control over. We just took 2 irons back to them for Mark and Tom to work their magic - they very kindly did an assessment for free, and one they fixed at a very reasonable cost, and the other ( a steamer ) they advised "you know what - by the time you're done with parts and labor, you're better off to buy a replacement and get an extra 1 year on your warranty ( so 2 years ) and use this one as a dry iron" Now that's service we're going back for !! read more

I placed an order for a replacement jar for my Waring blender with smallappliance.com (aka Turnpike Appliance) on 8/19/19. It was 8/28/19 and I was pretty excited to get the part, because mine had cracked, so I looked through my bank statement to see if they had charged me yet, no charge. I checked the 2 emails I use, no email. I called the company @ 1-888-277-5776 at 12:01pm and had a 1-minute phone call (according to my phone log) asking when I could expect delivery. The customer service rep asked me... "is this Sue" and I said yes. I assumed she knew from caller ID through their ordering system. She informed me that they did not have an order for me. I told her that I thought I had placed the order a little over a week ago, and asked if she was 'sure', and she said positive! I asked if we could place the order now on the phone, and she said she didn't have access to my account because they don't set up accounts, only guest check out, so I would need to place the order using their website. I went back to the website, and placed the order, this time using my husband's debit card, and my name on the shipping address, because my debit card had been compromised on 8/20.... (WAIT... WHAT?? now that I think about it... 1 day after I had placed my 1st order with smallapplicance.com... my debit card # was fraudulently used the next day... coincidence I hope??) I placed my order, and waited for the confirmation, which was received, and I was advised 2 days later that it had shipped and would arrive 9/3/19. Today, 9/3, up walks the mailman with 2 packages from smallappliances.com. Both the same size/shape, so I knew right away that the order got messed up. I went back to my confirmation, and double checked that I had only ordered 1 replacement part, and went to my bank account and noticed that they charged me twice also. I called the company and explained what had happened and how I had called the company on 8/28, and what I was told (above). She looked up the order ID's and informed that I had used 2 different names and email addresses, so when I called on 8/28, they may have looked up the wrong information? I reminded her that when I called on 8/28, I had only placed 1 order, with my name, never gave any info, but was asked if I was Sue, so there couldn't have been any confusion at that point. The customer service rep immediately took a defensive stand, saying that I must have called the wrong company or I used the wrong name, and that is why I was told there wasn't an order for me? WHAT??? I asked for a refund on the duplicate order and a return shipping label, and was informed that they do not pay for return shipping. I tried to explain the situation AGAIN, and realized that it didn't matter what I said, it was NOT their fault, and she was not going to listen or help me any further. I was pretty upset at this point, and unfortunately raised my voice and asked to speak to a manager. The customer service rep, laughed into the phone and put me on hold. Another rep picked up the phone and informed that there isn't a manager onsite. I asked when he/she would be in? I was informed that they do not have managers onsite ever, and would need to put in a request for a manager to "email" me. I asked for a phone call, and was informed that the managers communicate via email so they have proof of their conversations with customers. They will need to investigate and I should hear from them in 24 hours. I knew at that point that this was a losing battle and agreed to having a manager contact me via email. I do not recommend you use this company unless you absolutely have to because you can't find the part elsewhere. Why? My debit card # was coincidentally compromised the next day. I was informed that my 1 order wasn't completed, forcing me to place another order, which ended up being a duplicate order, and then both orders... conveniently arrived to my house the same day, even though they were placed 8 days apart. I brought my Delonghi Espresso machine in for repair. They Charged about $100.00 non refundable to look at it and then a additional $220 to repair a tube? Very expensive. They took a very long time to service this coffee machine? The Technician explained to me at pick up that he had to take machine apart. The original repair was done. However,I have a new problem that the grinds are not dumping into the basket and instead all over the interior of machine. I called and to my surprise I was met with extreme hostility? The office manager should be fired! She does not know how to talk to people and should not have a job in customer service. Beware of this place! Over priced. Poor work. I purchased a replacement part for my Cuisinart food processor on line after phoning to make sure my model DLC-2011BCN took the same parts as model DLC-2011BC. The "Knowledgeable Associate" assured me that it was, so I ordered the part on line. It was the wrong part and while they agreed to take it back they would not refund my $7 shipping (this on a $16 part!) because I had placed the order on line and therefore was responsible for it. They say "Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction," but I was not satisfied. I have been dealing with Turnpike appliance since the early sixties, when I had to drive to Hempstead turnpike. I believe it was in west hempstead at the time. It is usually for an odd part to keep an appliance from going in the trash. This time it is a part that I wore out on my 37 year old cuisinart. If I needed a repair it was always timely done, at the price quoted. Today. I even was able to check price and stock on the computer before I made the drive. I only hope that they stay in business. I'm eighty years old, and I get a kick out of having dependable tools in my kitchen, and not having to buy the new ones that rarely make it longer than their warranty period. I am very happy that I have such a helpful small appliance repair operation like Turnpike Appliance Center conveniently nearby. I went there today to look for a replacement egg maker, and they had just the Krups model I was most interested in stock. Also, while there I asked if they possibly had a replacement cord that would fit my 45 year old Salton eggmaker -- and they did! They also plugged the cord into my old Salton eggmaker to see if everything still worked safely as the original cord was frayed and had shorted out. So now, I have a brand new egg maker as well as a still working older eggmaker. read more

My Braun charging station broke. I found this place through the internet and drove to it. I was greeted efficiently and taken care of right away. I was called when Braun delivered my new charging station and I preferred to pick up the item instead of having them mail it. From start to finish everyone was courteous and bussiness-like. "Renata" finally consented and I expected to receive it...but again, did not. I asked her why she did not answer my E-Mails. She lied and said she never received them when they are clearly on Amazon's site!
