I gave the man my information and application several times, but this time I went in to check up on things, he explained to me that he will not hire me because I am a woman. Now, I really wish that I had recorded that entire conversation, but I was so shocked that I left in tears actually. He explained to me like a child how I should apply at King Soopers because that's where they hire women I have been a customer here for years, and this man had never seemed as though he would discriminate, but I am spending money there so why would he. Either way, please cease to support this company and this man. I am not a disgruntled person or ex employee, just a person who was looking for a job only to be actually told he will not hire me because I'm a woman. Please, take these words to heart. There a several liquor stores nearby that would be a much better choice because we should not be giving our hard earned money to a company that discriminates. I am taking legal action immediately. I've been staying at home, but was out of some of the beer I wanted to use. I went out for another errand and happened to pass by Cask and Craft. Hmmm...this sounds interesting. Plus it's a local shop, and I'm all about supporting local, particularly during this time. I pulled up Cask and Craft's website and was super happy to see the list of precautions they are taking to keep their customers safe. Some of these precautions include only 2 people in the shop at a time, use provided hand sanitizer when you enter, and even curbside pick up/delivery. Since I was sitting in front of the store, I figured I'd just go in, get what I needed, and quickly head home. I was greeted and asked to use the hand sanitizer upon entering - yes, thank you. I then explained from a distance that I was looking for a dark beer, preferably a stout. I was escorted to the back of the store and shown the fridge with all the dark beer. WOW! big selection. I had the choice of 6 packs, 4 packs, or mix and match. This was perfect for me because I needed 5 beers. I ended up selecting Jackie O's Java the Stout. When I brought up my 5 pack, the owner told me it was a great beer (one of his favorite dark beers) and that it was a solid choice. He was not wrong. This beer is awesome, and paired so well with my peanut butter cookie pairing. So good. I will definitely be back to Cask and Craft. Their shop is filled with all different types of wine, liquor, and beer. It's organized so nicely, and the shop itself has this comforting vibe when you walk in. I'm so appreciative of everything they are doing to keep customers safe and for the recommendations they give.

So every bottle was a pain to open. I took back three bottles to show him what the issue was. He took our three bottles back and gave us a full case. Meaning six new bottles. He also introduced me to a tool which I had no idea about. And I have bartended for 17 years. Including a country club and a wedding facility. To make sure it was all right to use the restroom. So I proceed to use the restroom that was opened. And as I left the store, owner gave me a dirty look. And it was very unkind to me and said I can use the restrooms outside. Just for people to know it's not a public restroom in there and I totally understand that but I do not take someone being uptight at their store and being rude to me. I'm a very kind person. For those complaining about the condition of the store, you have to understand the original shops on that block were made by and for the community prior to gentrification - this liquor store included. Unfortunately, many of the businesses on the block are long gone (who remembers the Chinese spot where that bakery is now, or the funeral home where the gelato place is, or the abandoned soul food place in the white house near the fish shop, or the mechanic shop where the cross fit is?)...wish the neighborhood I grew up in was still the same. The liquor store owners are a hardworking family and should be supported by the neighborhood they live and work in. I'd had to see this spot vanish like the other places I mentioned.
