There is often a special sale on one category or another. The owner, Deb, is an artist, a delight to visit with and so helpful. Each visit is a new experience bcz Deb rearranges as she receives new merchandise. My sisters and I have each purchased clothes and jewelry, and have received glowing comments from friends about our purchases. Deb always ties a ribbon and often a flower to your bag. The shop is in Mission, part of a cute strip of stores on Johnson Drive. I wish the reviewer who intended to blast a store in Zona Rosa, but misidentified it as this one would correct her mistake.

The merchandise is all custom made in house, designers, pattern makers, seamstress'... all in house! They actually go to Japan and buy genuine kimono's and remake shirts, vests, scarves, jackets... anything. The can even custom design exactly what you want. Every piece is like art and truly one of a kind. It is all very expensive, right down to the few genuine Asian home decor pieces, but it is so worth it if you have that kind of budget. If you need the pieces taken in, extra fabric added, or even a button/zipper replaced; it's all done for free... for the price you pay it's sort of like a guarantee... I love to go in every now and again to see the new pieces!

This might sound like a small thing but in the past I've used three different jewelry stores and they could never seem to get the sealing gasket back in right. (I even had one of them accuse me of bringing them a watch that had already been leaking so therefore I couldn't prove they were at fault.) Second, I had an old-school, "gold nugget" watch that had been sitting in my dresser for 25 years. It had been bequeathed to me and it wouldn't fit because the band was too small. I had also taken this watch to several jewelers over the years to see if they could get a clasp extension for the back. Each of them said it was not possible. However, I showed it too Alex and he tried 17 different clasps and had several watch companies send him things to try. He finally found clasp and it literally fits my wrist PERFECTLY. It's really a cool old watch and I'm so grateful for his persistence to make it wearable again!

I don't think business owners represent the city well when they're outside their business screaming at people on the street. In the last 6 months they removed the best feature in the store, the unsorted shopping carts in the back. It was nice to get to hunt through a few carts, like a real treasure hunt. No more. Gone. Those were the best bargains, and I'd spend over $50-60 easily each week. Since the carts ended, they've been making the store more like a boutique, and I'm not convinced it's a good idea. This seems to be the trend for these thrift stores, perhaps it's to get more money from the donated goods, but they are pricing out a lot of their customers in my opinion. There are still bargains, but it's less and less common to come across lately.. Overpriced items sit for months in the showcase, and they never apply the color tag discounts to items in that case. I've seen the same 4 gaudy german hiking medals at $10 each (they were $15 for a long time) relegated to the bottom of the case, in a heap, on some sort of overpriced little china plate. Overpriced items sit, until they do a large sale (like 50% off white tags) once every few months, or they get repriced and moved around the store. I saw a $1.99 Star Trek game sitting by the toys, I came back 2 days later, it was in the showcase and priced at $19.99 - it was worth $10 on eBay once upon a time, and that was 4-5 years and 3 computer generations later. Someone needs to clue the staff in to how to price things, and not just look on eBay for the latest asking price. If you want to price donated goods at the eBay asking price, you're asking for a lot of your customers to head to City Thrift, Red Racks, or Goodwill. Also, it's been a year. Please pave your parking lot. There are potholes 4 ft x 4 ft wide just inside the entrance on Lamar. It's getting ridiculous. Update: They re-paved the lot and put some 25c bins in the back, an improvement!

The store itself is very grubby, and the inventory is disorganized and hard to shop. There are many clothing categories that are not organized by size. The shoes aren't organized by size or color.
