As you are very well aware, I am extremely unhappy with the work that was performed and paid for up to this point from Turoc Concrete Design/Ryan. This termination is due to and not limited to... not doing what I (Client/Customer) have asked, wanted and paid for. No show at the job site multiple times, with no notice at all. Causing interruption with my own business. Dumping fill/Rock on our driveway and damaging our property. leaving your staff to incorrectly frame our property, and framing on top of big tree roots. After finally pouring concrete, I come home to extremely crooked and uneven steps and platforms. The two steps stepping onto the platform, two different measurements. Neither steps had the measurements we wanted nor discussed. I already have a huge crack on a brand new concrete walkway, and now we have a new one in a different location. The walkway to the entrance of your yard is completely crooked, and it is an eyesore. The Concrete borders are unfinished and expose all the filler/rocks under the Concrete pour are completely exposed and are coming out from the sides. Turoc/Ryan was paid $10K for what was completed, and even that was too much for what was done our yard. The third and final payment would have been given after the job was finished... We decided not to finish the job with Turoc/Ryan due to the sloppy and poor quality up to this point. Please see all the pictures included in this email. Turoc Concrete Design - March 11,2020 and no job started. - Masonry/Concrete Near Me

Hired to replace cement basement steps and Bilco doors because of leakage issues. Also, to remove and replace cement surrounding the swimming pool, and build a decorative wall around the patio. The basement step area is still leaking. The cement around the pool is cracked and chipping. The wall remains unfinished and the façade is falling off. (see pictures) Ryan was quick to show up with his hand out any time he wanted payment, but never came when we were unhappy with the quality of the work. He had his workers on-site send pictures to him instead. His workers would show up for a few days, then disappear for weeks. When we called, texted, badgered him, he always had excuses - too hot, too cold, finishing up another job. Our job started 18 months ago, and Ryan has abandoned the project entirely. He left our property as a construction site in November 2019 and my sixty-year-old husband ended up cleaning up the debris. When we complained about piles of old, broken concrete in our driveway that didn't fit in the dumpster, he had his men bring a dumpster bag, fill it, and drag it into the street where it remained for two weeks. We called repeatedly about having it removed, and he swore he had called the company twice to haul it. We called the dumpster company ourselves, and they came the next day. We had to pay for it although our payment to Ryan covered that cost. He promised he'd reimburse us. He did not. Ryan told me he was delayed having his men put the stone façade on our patio wall because two shipments of the stone he ordered were damaged. We went and ordered some ourselves and had it delivered. He never reimbursed us for the double payment for the stone. Ryan is a charmer as long as he is picking up a payment. Once you have the audacity to expect the work to be done, he becomes nasty and rude. We were understanding about Covid backing up his schedule "by three months" and he promised he'd have his crew to us by the end of June. Two months later, he refused to answer/return phone calls. Also, he had tried to blame us for his crew not showing up, saying the capstones we'd ordered for our wall were thicker than the 2-inch width he'd told us to get, thereby necessitating additional men. When we sent him a picture with a tape measure showing that the capstones were indeed his requested 2-inches, he never replied. And, no one ever showed up to put them on the wall. Anyone who has the money to throw away and doesn't care about the quality of the job, go ahead and hire Ryan. I wish I had done more online investigating of reviews instead of thinking that his being listed on the "Thumbtack" site guaranteed his work. I have noticed that since I got his information from them in March 2019, his page has been removed. Ryan has two favorite catchphrases that he loved to throw at us: "I'm a man of my word" and "My customers are always happy." Clearly, neither statement is true. Another hint: why does Ryan not publish a business address or his last name anywhere, including with his customers? Honest business owners don't behave this shady. Do not hire this POS Ryan from TUROC Concrete Design. His work is horrendous. I am embarrassed to say that I allowed myself to be ripped off by this scam artist. What was supposed to be 3 to 5 day job redoing my driveway and backyard turned into...well...never. The work was never completed. The work that they did do? The driveway was poured unevenly and whatever crap that was slapped onto the backyard concrete is now cracked and chipped in several places. He has since stopped returning texts and phone calls and his crap that he left in my yard is going into the trash heap. My blood is boiling just writing about this. read more

Believe the bad reviews!! DO NOT USE RYAN/Turoc concrete design. My husband knew Ryan from working out together at the gym, so we never thought "a friend" would screw us. We gave him a $5000 deposit in feb 2019, for what was supposed to be a concrete patio in the yard, concrete around the pool, a new walkway in front of the house, and new front steps. He promised he would get to us "next week", for 6 months! My husband ended up losing his job in August 2019, and we could no longer afford the project (Plus at this point we didn't trust Ryan or his company to complete the project). We asked Ryan if we could have our deposit back. He refused and said that it was in the contract that there were no refunds on deposit. We never signed a contract, and he could never produce one for us. So we told him to at least do $5000 worth of work. He tore down our front steps, and created steps that were too small for even my smto fit on. My husband had to re-cement the steps himself, and then we had to pay another company $1600 to finish the work. They did not put expansion joints in our walkway, and when I asked him about it he said it would be fine. Less than year later we got two huge cracks going all the way across the path. We have sent him pictures of the cracks and have gotten no response. Thank heavens we did not use him for the huge projects we initially had planned with him!!! Other contractors that have come to our house for various projects all comment on it and can't believe the horrific job that was done. I reached out to Turok in November 2018. Ryan was very personable and friendly and professional. We set up a date and time for the pouring of concrete for my patio. He was not there. The workers were subcontracted and were very good. Ryan came back in January to put a urethane coating over the concrete. It cracked the very next day. I have been in touch with him several times to come back and see what could be done. Repeatedly he commits to coming "this weekend" and I then I don't hear from him. This has been going on since January. I disputed the charge with American Express and he got back to me via text and said " I will get to you as soon as possible your going to have to return that back charge before I come. I will let you know what week I can come." This is after 8 months of back and forth. No apology for the substandard work done or acknowledgment that in 8 months he has not found the time to even come and see in person, the cracked product. read more

This guy is a complete moron. I would never recommend Ryan to anyone. He doesn't have the skills or knowledge to do this type of work, and he's a crook. He took an $8K deposit from me and didn't complete the job. What was supposed to be a three-day job turned into 6 months of putting us off. After lots of putting us off for months and months, he finally came back to dump a sloppy puddle of epoxy in the middle of our showroom only to tell me he had "ran out of material." What he actually ran out of was my deposit money ($8000 on a $15000 job) to cover the cost of the materials. Which then bought himself more time, and then continued to put off the job. He clearly spent our deposit elsewhere so couldn't afford to buy the epoxy material needed for the work. Long story short, he obviously ran with our deposit and just put the job off for six months so we couldn't open a claim with our bank. We're currently talking to our lawyer and I would advise everyone else here take this guy to small claims. At this rate he won't last much longer. Ryan took a deposit from me of 2500 to complete my backyard on April 14th. He promised the work would get done by end of may early June, I was hesitant about the work with covid. I asked him very clearly, if I am able to get my deposit back for any reason he said yes. First week in June, I did not hear back from Ryan and I called him to ask what was the estimated start date, he told me second week in June. Second week in June comes, still no start date, I reached out again no response, when he finally did respond, it was to tell me that they were behind because of Covid19 and would get to me soon. Third week now and still no update from Ryan, I immediately text and asked again for in update, no response. I called and no answer. At this point, I am not interested in moving forward with anyone who conducts business and treats their customers this way. I texted that I would like my deposit back, suddenly he called immediately. Telling me his wife went in labor and that he would start the job next week. After deciding that I no longer wanted to work with Ryan, I texted the next day and said no thank you, I would like to get my deposit back. He immediately text me using legal jargon, telling me "breach of contract" and the contract says "No refunds".  I repeated clear as day, how is it a breach of contract when you haven't even started the job and you said I could cancel for any reason.  I returned his call and he was very rude, he even told me he "doesn't need my money" and will return my deposit. It has been over 3 weeks and I have not received my deposit. I asked repeatedly for confirmation of the return, Ryan has yet to send me any documentation of the return.  Please do not waste your time and money on this guy and his company, Ryan has terrible professionalism and has no idea how to treat a customer. I recently had work done to my tile floors. Turoc concrete and design did an amazing job. They came in ripped up my tile and were honest with me about what needed to be done. Their prices are reasonable, and they do very good work! I would recommend them to others that want a new look in their home at an affordable cost! read more
