It was $33 since I was out of state and not a member. You can easily camp along the AT but I didn't feel comfortable doing so alone. The center offers showers, toilets and potable drinking water. They also have multiple bear boxes throughout the tent sites, which is super convenient to not have to hang food or other smelly items! There is a small store and kitchen and they offer a small menu of items for purchase. The night I was there, they had storytelling/ open mic night at the boathouse. This was super fun and brought back memories of summer camp as a kid. They have a swimming beach and canoes/kayaks for rent. Do be careful near the privy by the beach. The night I was there I saw a rattlesnake on a log next to it! I highly recommend camping here! And I will definitely be back

Booking online was easy, and check-in was simple--we just stopped by Frogtown Chophouse to pick up our keys and finished the paperwork the next morning. Our cottage was clean, in good repair, and surprisingly quiet given that the restaurant is on the property. The space is set up well for a couple or small family: a bedroom with a queen bed, a living room with a queen sleeper sofa, a small kitchenette (fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker), and even a propane fireplace that was perfect for chilly September evenings. While the fixtures and linens were a little dated, everything was tidy and comfortable, and the unit could easily sleep four. The only real downside was the low water pressure in the shower--not ideal, but not a deal-breaker either. At just over $500 for two nights, we felt it was a fair investment for the experience. The on-site restaurant, Frogtown Chophouse, is highly rated, and we enjoyed stopping in for cocktails one evening. The bartender gave us excellent local recommendations that added to our trip. All in all, Woodfield Manor offered exactly what we were looking for: a quiet, comfortable, and relaxing home base in the Poconos.

We love staying at a B&B rather than a chain hotel when we can. We took advantage of the Crayola Experience package, which is offered for either of the two-room suites that accommodate up to four guests. The main room has a King. The second room (more or less a sitting area on the way to the bathroom) has a twin with a trundle that can accommodate two kids. The package can be booked for a single night and includes admission tickets for up to four people, a Crayola gift pack for each kid, and a tray of snacks. Ours included some fabulous homemade peanut butter cookies! We booked two nights (the additional night was less than the first with the package). As a family of three we basically broke even on the additional package price vs. buying our own tickets, gift, and snacks. But this is vacation and to have that all taken care of plus the fun surprise for our daughter waiting in the room made it more than worth it. Lafayette has a comfortable, family feel. The wrap-around porch was a great place to sit (and run if you're a toddler) and everyone made my daughter feel welcome. By the second day she was calling it "our new house." The breakfast menu for the next day was posted in foyer each night. We had made-to-order omelets with choice of bacon or sausage each morning with different fresh fruit and homemade baked goods each day. Yogurt, cereal, and a variety of breads were also available. There were to-go cups for coffee along with mugs. Pastries plus coffee, tea, hot chocolate, whole fruit, and sodas were available all the time in the parlor. Having a DVD player in the room allowed us to have a family movie night. We brought our own, but the front desk also had lots to borrow. Only wish we had had some popcorn!

Two glasses of well priced and delicious wine; and for our entrees: 'Black Peppercorn Crusted Elk Tenderloin' (Foie gras truffle whipped potato, snap peas, topped with fried onions, whole grain mustard cream), 'Pan Roasted Herb Crusted Berkshire Pork Chop' (Over roasted potatoes, zucchini, and squash, topped with apricot chutney and pickled red onion) and 'Seared Scallops' (Fingerling potato crab hash, asparagus, lemon beurre blanc and pomegranate glaze). Everything seems well thought out for making guests comfortable with snacks, coffee, sodas, cookies, available at all times. The house is quite large and with the barn also accessible, there's no issue finding a quiet spot for reading or even listening to music with a glass of wine using the Sonos music system (even available in the barn!). This would be perfect for a family to rent out the whole home. Going stir crazy due to pandemic concerns? This is a great way to change your view safely.
