Shelly was great to work with. I had a fairly last minute request to book a party at her site, and she was so easy to work with and helped accommodate our last minute plans. The party itself was great too! Everything was very cute---the studio and the table for favors/cupcakes/etc.. Rachel was very sweet and even managed activities so that no one would be left out or bored since we had kids from 2 yrs old up to 12 yrs old. If you've got a little ballerina, I highly recommend a party at the Tutu School. Even little boys can participate---our son had a blast. Our daughter had such a wonderful time, and it was great that she was able to participate in a fun ballet class. The other ballet classes we tried to put her in were very serious and intense even at the age of 3. I'm glad we found Tutu School because we'd been searching for a studio where she could learn ballet and just have fun since she is only 5, after all. read more

We ADORE the Tutu School! My 4 year old daughter absolutely loves her dance classes. We had tried dance at another local studio and it was a disaster - dirty, unprofessional, no fun at all. The Tutu School is the complete opposite. The studio is gorgeous from top to bottom. The teachers are incredible. Miss Tiffany is so wonderful. My daughter enjoys every second of instruction and dance time. The class time just flies by & she's always excited for next week's class. I wholeheartedly recommend the Tutu School for anyone who has a child who loves to dance and wants to learn in a fun, friendly & warm environment. My daughter is in Miss Mackenzie's class and we're absolutely in love with our teacher and the school. The school is decorated so cute and cosy. Miss Mackenzie is very creative and always goes the extra mile - every other class they practice something interesting. Like on Halloween they had pumpkin dance with real small pumpkins and a ghost dance. Last time they danced with a big stripy parachute. Miss Mackenzie uses very attractive names for the moves. She just says Let's make sparkles above the head and girls are absolutely happy to move their arms as if there were sparkles. Then they "cook pizza", run like dogs and spiders and so on. And what is the most important about miss Mackenzie is that she is always kind, caring and encouraging to students. We do love her. At the end of each class they read a ballet book and have a coloring sheet for home. For Halloween kids had a special event Pumpkin decoration. With snacks and lot of fun. Last year I've heard there was a date night once a month where kids could have fun together. we're waiting for these events this year. Also soon we'll have Bravo performance on stage. I was so thrilled when Tutu School opened up in downtown Pleasanton! My 4 year old daughter and I were taking a walk and noticed the school. We walked in and were amazed at how beautifully decorated and welcoming it was, including the very friendly teacher and owner. I like the seating area and how open it is so you could see and hear the lesson. The section with ballet shoes, clothes and accessories for purchase is an added plus of convenience. My daughter fell in love with the yellow tutu - Coppelia, which I bought as she outgrew the one she had and I didn't have to make a separate trip to buy one. It's been several months and my daughter is really happy there. She enjoys Miss Tiffany, who provides her with a lot of patience and love. My daughter gets excited about learning the different ballerina stories incorporated each month and looks forward to coloring the story sheet handed out at the end of class. Bottom line is my daughter enjoys dancing and to have a lot of fun while do so is wonderful. The events are SO fun! We've attended a few and appreciate the school for offering it as part of being a member. Not to mention the unlimited make up classes, especially when things like being sick come up. I can't say enough positive words about the tutu school in Pleasanton! From the initial signing up of the free trial class, to actual enrollment and classes, my experience was fantastic. On the business side of it, Shelly, the owner, responded quickly and communicated/explained everything with such great detail and made me feel so comfortable if I needed to contact her on anything that did not make sense. That right there was a great first impression, since now a days there are a ton of lousy businesses who only want your money and then suddenly don't care about you as a customer when you need help. Now my daughter has been in class there over a month now, and I can tell you that for her, it's been such an amazing experience! She prances around the house doing ballet moves, speaking little bits of French that are taught at class and lights up every week when she wakes up and I tell her we have ballet that day! We typically have miss Tiffany as our teacher, but occasionally we miss a class and have to do a makeup class (which by the way is so easy to do with the online makeup class scheduler-no hassle, simple to use), and have had miss Rachel, who is equally as awesome. I will say however, and I won't take a star away from my review, as tutu school cannot control parents who don't reprimand their children, that in certain classes, we have been stuck with naughty children who disrupt the class and make it s distraction for those little ballerinas who actually are trying to enjoy class. The teachers try hinting at mom to take control of their little ones but the ignorant parents just sits on the sidelines and shout every now and again "don't do that." Instead of removing the child from the class until they can behave and not be a distraction. It would be nice if tutu school could maybe confront the parents of this happens a lot with a certain child, only because it's unfair to pay for an expensive class and not to get anything out of it if you're stuck with one of those naughty kids who distracts your little one away from what they are there for. But beyond that, we love the tutu school in Pleasanton and would highly recommend it to anyone who thinks they might be interested. We absolutely love Tutu School! After searching for a ballet school for my 3 year old, I came across Tutu School Pleasanton and was thrilled when my daughter loved her trial class! It was a great way to get her started socializing with other children. Miss Tiffany is wonderful and very patient! Not only do they teach the art of ballet, but my daughter is also learning to listen more to a teacher figure, taking turns with the other children in the class, and working as a group! Shelly, the owner, is also wonderful! She has made us feel very welcomed and has many events for everyone to get together and socialize outside of ballet class! Classes have small amount of students so they get plenty attention from the teacher. Great location, in the very heart of downtown . This is a lovely studio. Not only is it absolutely beautiful inside but the instruction is just great. They are introducing my pre-schooler to ballet in a very clever way. They relay the actual "story" behind a ballet (Nutrcracker, Firebird, Giselle, etc.) and then incorporate that story into instruction and the class. The beautiful music fills the studio all the while the instructor teaches the students about positions and steps and tells them the actual names for the jumps, spins, etc (I'm glad I'm not the instructor!). My daughter learns to sit and pay attention but she also has a lot of opportunity to "free dance" and express herself. I have to say the Shelly Barnes is also a great studio owner. I have been impressed with her responsiveness and attention to the needs of her Tutu School families. I am so happy Tutu school is in Pleasanton! read more
