There isn't much in terms of groceries in Arnold, so this place was the place to be. Some of the…read moreitems were a bit expensive, however we were glad to find all of the groceries we needed for our meals. It was conveniently located near gas stations and restaurants and our vacation rental. The people working there were very friendly too.

I walked into Big Trees Market at 6:50 PM last night (3/31) to grab a few quick items. There were…read morestill multiple customers shopping--completely normal. At 7:01, an announcement came on saying the store had been closed for one minute and to head to the register. Totally fair. I needed one more thing from produce so I hurried- another announcement at 7:02 said to "stop shopping- we are closed" I grabbed my last item and went up front. By 7:03, I was already being checked out. And yet the reaction from staff was... unbelievable. There were several employees standing at the front just staring at me--clearly irritated, like I'd personally ruined their evening. It was three minutes past closing. Not 30. Not 15. Three. Then it somehow got worse. They were out of bags (understandable), so I asked if I could use the hand basket to carry my items to my car, which was literally parked right in front of the doors to the store. I was told no, "these baskets cant leave the store"--and that I needed to go outside and get a cart instead. So I had to run out, grab a cart, and come back in... while the entire staff stood there watching me. There must have been 6 or 7 employees glaring at me with dirty looks like I had insulted them personally. The older checker was grumpy and rude, but honestly the whole team contributed to making the experience feel hostile and unwelcoming. I completely understand wanting to close on time. But if ringing someone up at 7:03 feels like a crisis to your staff, that's a management issue--not a customer problem. Also- why not sell reusable bags if you run out of bags so often? I would have bought one to make it faster for me to exit the store. Seems like a simple solution to avoid the extreme stress your staff is experiencing

She is amazing and made my life extra easy by taking time to record the sticker information for each baggie of tea after I filled them. Being a senior citizen, I enjoy a little pampering now and then. I am thankful that staff regularly deliver a nurturing vibe and seem happy to help. And I have to rave, yet again, about Alyssa's astounding art talent; seen inside and outside the store. What a gift, the latest being an incredibly adorable and cleverly designed large mailbox out front with a farm theme. Between her, and Erin's creativie touch - one of the owners, the place exudes deep relaxation and being immersed in nature.

I appreciate that this little wondrous health gem has such a diverse selection of groceries to accommodate different dietary needs. Though their produce is pricey - it's always on point. The blueberries I bought here recently were incredible. If you're looking for quality meats, coconut yogurt, low carb snacks, vegan goodies and everything in between - this is your spot. I particularly enjoy how many local products they now stock here. From fresh baked sourdough bread, to handmade desserts, to homemade teas, face sprays and elixirs - Nature's Whole Food Depot is all about showcasing local artists, bakers, and healers. Be sure to also stay tuned their FB page to learn about events that they host in their store. They spotlight everything from foraging to breath work and more. If you want to support local - Nature's Whole Food Depot is your spot. I'd recommend allotting quite a bit of time to fully explore this magical space. Trust.
