I accompanied my sister to grab a few things she was in need of- hence my very first encounter with this particular Walmart Supercenter. This is by far one of the best looking Walmart Supercenters I have ever set foot in. The produce department was full of fresh, quality fruits and vegetables. The aisles all throughout the store was clean, fully stocked, and organized. This is the place you want to visit if you are looking for pure convenience. Any household needs will be found here, under one roof. 4 stars instead of 5 because the staff isn't the most welcoming. They do their job and keep it strictly as that. There is little to no interaction beyond checking out and processing payment. Not a deal breaker for me but I can see it being an issue for others. read more

We purchased an 85 inch tv, after mounting the tv to the wall we turned it on and the tv was defected, scrambled picture and a crack on the upper corner. These things can happen but the 1 star is for the customer service. After talking to the store manager, there was no customer service or even compensation of any kind for the hour & 1/2 drive to Walmart, having to pay the tech to make another trip to our house for the installation ... nothing. This is a multi billion dollar company and I just can't understand the lack of support for loyal customers. I'll now be purchasing electronics and anything else at another store. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE customer service, and thieves to say the least. I bought 4 brand new tires from Walmart.com.. I bought the lifetime warranty for all 4 tires. Couple months later got a piece of metal in the back rear. They put 2 new tires for $10.76 ( the 2md tire cause of tread wear )Not bad right?? Just yesterday I was driving home and got a gash in one of the sidewalls. Got 2 new tires again. This time they charged me $135!!! The guy behind the counter had Zero understanding on his own job. After asking 3 associates for help, 25 minutes waiting, and 3 pages nobody showed up to help me in cosmetics to get a tube of mascara from a locked case! I pushed the may I help you button.. Nothing! I tried calling the store 4 times and nobody bothered to answered the phone, nobody! I even tried HR and no answer there either! The last four times I tried calling the store because the online grocery check in app was down nobody answered the phone locally or at corporate! Only the pharmacy, online grocery, and the bakery have 4 to 5 star service! The rest of the store deserves a 0 to 1 star rating for lack of effort! Customers don't matter here or maybe it's that the staff has been so devalued that they don't care. If it's not enough staff that is causing it then fire whoever came up with new workforce model. This is the 2nd time I have used the delivery option on Wal Mart+ in Sonora after using it multiple times while living in the city. I have never had issues using this, until Sonora. Surprised? Sadly, this store needs a major change in management and customer service I have had countless issues with one manager in particular Megan who has made it very clear she has personal issues with me and has chosen to discriminate and harass me profusely. Not only that but she has stopped me and claimed I have stolen only to reclaim items I "haven't paid for" which later after going over recipet careful clearly show were in fact on said receipt so I had paid for items I not longer had. In addition, she made me repay for items that I had already paid for since she struggled to read the receipt and claimed they were not one their and I would have to pay if I wanted the items. In addition to the money I was owed I chose to return the BOTH the items over the trouble I was caused. Honestly, I'm not sure why walmart keeps her employed, but I'm not the only one who has the same type of story with the same lady. She has claimed I am trespassing on public property and now claims I am not allowed to purchase from them. I am very concerned about the lack of professionalism and disrespect. The store's prices have gone up significantly with inflation...or I would have given it a five star rating. They are a hugely successful company that would continue to be hugely successful even without using inflation as a reason to raise prices. But their offering of grocery pickup and delivery is what makes them stand out above all others. Just wish they'd let us tip the clerks. read more

The lady said what lane number are you in and that someone would bring my order out to me. I waited an hour and called back and was told "oh the order was canceled because not available". We spent the Thanksgiving holiday season in Twain Harte and looked to this Sonora Walmart to help us with all of our needs throughout our time in the area. Walmart did not let us down. From affordable Rao's marinara sauce, to 5 dollar blankets (soooo soft), to blueberries, to coconut cream, to cheap pajama pants, to basic socks, to wall fixtures, to La Croix, to fabric pens, speakers - and sooooo much more - Walmart had everything we needed - whenever we needed it. The staff were always kind and helpful throughout our many visits here and even during Black Friday - the store was organized and easy to navigate. Trust. read more

The Walmart Tire Center in Sonora,California is beyond terrible!! I had the absolute worst experience of my life there today (9-5-2020). For an oil change and tire rotation it took almost two hours! It shouldn't take that long to get it done! My wife and I watched them and they stopped numerous times to flirt with a female employees and to socialize with each other. As time kept creeping along our groceries were defrosting especially our ice cream and our meats were getting very close to the food safely danger zone. Then when we went to pay for it they could not find our keys. When our keys were found 10 minutes later they were given to the wrong customer!! Overall a miserable experience and we will NEVER GO BACK!!! 0/10 Walmart you lost a lifelong disabled war veteran customer. Hope it was worth it!! Pharmacy is excellent. Fast refills and cashiers there are very polite and efficient. But I made mistake of grocery shopping after 6pm. Never again! Felt like I was in a third world country of chaos and scary people using the f word over and over, talking like gang slang. I know it's not the store's fault but I just don't feel safe in walmart anymore. Afraid of violence and not enough protection inside the store. If I could give 0 stars I would, I want to cry with how bad their customer service is. I spend thousands a month there because let's face it there is just not many other options, I moved here 7 months ago and first time in a Walmart in 12 years and in this county. I have large orders to feed my big family and buy for a school and the checkers are all angry won't even respond to you and completely rude as if I've done something wrong. The aisles are always being restocked and it's super busy where you can't even go down an aisle and I have to have my kids wait at the end to run down and grab something. They prey on the fact there isn't anywhere much else to go but I'm at the point of just paying more at Safeway and priceco because of their treatment. I have no idea if anyone is actually a manager or gives a shit so many customers are so unhappy and afraid of the cashiers should they even have many, all old and angry. I have to sit and wait for someone who looks welcoming. The commercials are bullshit there is zero friendly faces god forbid you're spending a lot of money. read more

For as long as I can remember, the Sonora Walmart has totaly ignored the handicaped population. Again, I cannot remember the day I visited the Sonora store without wasteing gas looking for a handicaped parking space. More than once have I observed a vehicle parked in a "Disabled" parking space without proper 'handicap identification' displayed. When I pointed this out to the front desk, it's "what do you want me to do about it?" I return with "do your job and take care of your customers complaints". Now, there is a "security" person driving around and around the parking lot with bright yellow flashing lights on the roof. The driver doesn't do anything, just drives around and around. The handicap scooters in this store are a joke, and so is the number of scooters available. The following statistics are not 100% correct, but according to the census.gov: in Toulumne County, with a population of about 54,000 20% are disabled that is about 11,000 people needing help in getting about. Now add in Calaveras County, a population of 45,000 about 20% are disabled also, That's another 9,000 people disabled and needing assistance. Maybe you can provide the number of patrons, on average, that shop your store, on average 20% are disabled and need assistance. The first thing that person (or family person) looks for when entering your store is a handicap scooter. Guess what, there are none available. And, there is no place to sit down to wait for a scooter. I understand you cannot provide seating in your store for everyone, but you could put a couple of benches "for handicaped only" to ease those that need a place to sit down and wait for a scooter. I am a 100% disabled Veteran. I live in Calaveras County. For the last 3 months I have made the 36 mile (one way) trip to the Sonora Walmart only to drive around and around the parking lot trying to find a "handicape parking only" space. If I am lucky and find one I then make that long trek to the store entrance only to discover there are no scooters, to make matters worse, no place to sit to wait for a scooter. Now I hobble outside to try and see a scooter, and again, no place to sit and wait for a scooter. I am now forced to decide to either stand and hope a scooter is brought back in, or to hobble back to my vehicle and return home with nothing to show for at least 3 hours wasted time. WALMART, DO SOMETHING DECENT FOR YOUR DISABLED PATRONS! read more

Wow, wow, wow...not all Walmart's are created equal! I used to love to come into this store before the remodel a few years ago. I could happily shop for clothes and electronics with ease. The selection used to be great. This Walmart lost its identity big time. The men's clothing here is rubbish. The selection is so small. Who ever is doing their ordering must be 12 years old because the selection caters to teens and lumberjacks. The electronic section is laughable. There was only 5 TVs on display to chose from. You can still pick up a good deal on cds and dvds but nothing much else. The garden section looks closed down. However if you need groceries, you've come to the right place. My experience at Wal-Mart, August 14th 2018. Paid for my stuff, bagged all of my groceries myself to be helpful, walk down the narrow corridor to the exit, passed the receipt checker woman, smiled and say "no thank you" when she asked for receipt, keep walking slowly out the door, get followed out the door by this woman while she is literally yelling at me that I "have to" show her my receipt while trying to reach into my bags. I turn around, say "no thanks" again. She keeps YELLING at me as I was walking to my car, clear across the parking lot, yelling that I was being "rude"... That, ladies and gentlemen is not how you treat customers. My questions here are as follows: - Did I sign a contract stating I am willing to have my receipt checked upon exit? (Like Costco) - Did someone follow me around the store and actually witness me stealing? - Why is it the customers job to help a multi-billion dollar company with "theft prevention"? - Why are customers being treated like criminals without there being probable cause? (btw, NOT showing your receipt does NOT constitute probable cause) - WHAT IS THE POINT OF RECEIPT CHECKING WHEN ALL OF MY STUFF IS IN BAGS??? Are you going to dump everything I just bagged and compare every single item to the receipt? - Instead of ME proving to YOU that I DIDN'T steal anything, why don't YOU prove to me that I did? - Why wait in yet another line after already having waited 20 minutes at checkout? My time is valuable to me. Needless to say, I haven't been back since. Wouldn't be surprised if my face was on the "banned" wall for simply refusing. I ordered a toy from Walmart.com for Christmas gift for my son $66.00+ it wasn't delivered until 12/4/21. On 1/3/21 I requested a refund/ return because it was defective. It could not be assembled because of defective parts. The next day they say no refund as it has been over 30 days !! Also it was advertised as American but made in China. I'm giving this rating to their delivery service. I ordered a 230$ order and as the person was on their way, I was able to track his location. He showed to be driving in a circle no where near my house, then returned to the store saying there was an address malfunction in their system. I then contacted customer service whom did a great job in assisting me online and to cancel that order which would be put on a hold with my bank for possibly up to 10 days He then reordered my order for free of charge express delivery within the next 3 hours. We waited patiently and then when it came time, the new person shopped for our groceries and the same person was even the delivery person apparently. He was on his way with clear instructions from me and my number if he needed any assistance finding me. He was about 10 minutes away and all of a sudden Walmart again cancels my order and has him return back to the store with my groceries. They completely canceled the order instead of trying again as they said this new cancel was due to food safety precautions. Why cancel my second order which now is also holding in my bank. So now I have two holds on my bank account that equal almost $500 ( hold up to 10 days) and left without any groceries to feed my family. Instead of canceling they should have tried again the next morning. Very bad customer service on their delivery department to let this happen twice within one day. Do not trust this service. They also tell you there is nothing they can do for you when you call and that you have to call your bank. Then bank says to call the merchant. What a hassle I won't be ever doing again. read more

Am I the only one that has noticed that other than a large selection of varied items for really low prices, Walmart doesn't have much else going for them. I mean you pull up and after several minutes in traffic and fighting with other potential shoppers for that one single spot close to the front, you finally give up and park in the rest of the vast yet largely empty parking lot. Defeated before even entering the doors. Then you get inside and can't find a single shopping cart. When you finally do you head down thru the grocery section first and grab what they have that you can use while realizing that their selection is nowhere near that of a "real" grocery store and that you will still have to make another stop after to grab the things you just can't get at Walmart. Then you head off into the rest of the store looking for whatever else you might need that's priced lower here than anywhere else. God forbid you need help finding something because the only sure bet here is that their team members will have no idea where to find it either. You are usually better off to just ask another shopper. I mean who hires these people? When you finally make it up to the check outs of course there is a long line caused by some clerk scanning items at a rate of about one per every 30 seconds and then delicately bagging each item like it's made of some high explosive. Needless to say, Walmart has become a necessary evil due largely to there good prices and well placed locations. So yeah, I shop here. Am I proud of it? No I am not. read more
