We knew the owners , in fact we received an impromptu blending of the soon to be released Bodo. The wine servers became friends and the whole atmosphere was magical and we came often and brought family and friends. We received weekly messages with the weekend happening and when you called with a question the call was answered or returned. With the new owners, there is no way leave a message and emails are not answered. We don't receive any emails and don't even know when there is a release. So we are way behind on pickups. Is this anyway to treat customers? Maybe I'll receive a response this time.

That day was also beautiful and we decided to take a long drive on that afternoon to have a wine tasting at Beauregard. Yesterday, we entered the tasting room and it was packed! The winemaker, Ryan, was there and was talking to the guests and pouring wines. It's always nice to see and owner/ winemaker in the tasting room interacting with the guests. It also felt very special because California tortoise shell butterflies were all over the area. No one quite knows why they are here, but they are gracing the area with their presence. And it's beautiful. The wines at Beauregard are better than I remembered them. They were excellent and I highly recommend a stop at this tasting room. I do not think you will be disappointed.

I enjoyed most of the wines we had, but thought they were a little pricey for whites/rosé. They're reservation only and you do have to prepay when making the reservation. I have been lucky enough to have been hosted at the vineyard twice by Julie and Albert. The first time was through our connection on Instagram, and the second was as a club member to pick up my wine club shipment. They grow and produce a limited amount of Cabernet Sauvignon and only sell to their wine club and a few establishments in Los Gatos. Julie and Albert are wonderful hosts. They make each person visiting feel special and truly engage with you. At both of my visits they provide a delectable charcuterie spread of mixed that also included Julie's famous tomato jam. As someone who doesn't traditionally like tomatoes, I can say this jam is my jam! Each visit has been a unique experience to mix and mingle with other wine enthusiasts from the area. This is a place where you come a stranger but leave a friend.

I have been a fan of this winery since the early 80s. Some of my most memorable wine experiences include these wines. Marty Mathis, Kathryn's son and owner/winemaker is an artist. Originally known for their Cabernet, make no mistake, any bottle with their name on it will impress and be memorable. Their bubbles in it opinion are as good as it gets. I think one would be hard pressed to classify them as domestic. They are classy. These wines are small production. Seek out these wines. If you ever see an event where you can meet the winemaker, go! In the Santa Cruz mountain appellation there are a few wineries that set the benchmark, these folks are one!
