We found this place on Yelp, and even though the owner was already booked for the day, she was super accommodating and took the time to make us some beautiful floral arrangements for our tables. I am just floored by the generosity of Nancy, the owner, and her whole operation! Last week, Justice LA organized "Rose From the Concrete" - participants were to bring roses to represent the lives lost to police brutality and over-incarceration and lay them on the steps of the Hall of Justice. Feeling a nudge to participate, I looked up florists open during the pandemic. I'm so glad Twigs & Thyme was it! I had initially planned to get just a handful of roses, but when Nancy and Manuela asked about the purpose and how they should be arranged, I explained the cause. Nancy thought for a moment, then said she would give them to me for free. She thought for another moment, then said she would give me ALL the roses in her shop for free! It was probably more than $500 worth of roses. It still moves me to think about it. When I first embarked on this little journey, I wasn't sure how joining this event was supposed to "make a difference" or if it was even worth it. But in that moment, I was glad that I followed through regardless. I felt a wave of gratitude and hope, a feeling that was further reinforced by seeing all the roses brought by members of the community to raise awareness, honor those who have passed, and share in finding a path forward. Those hundred-something roses I ended up bringing symbolized how much we can achieve if we work together. I'll definitely be back to support this local business that has warmed my heart, and I hope you do too. They put together the most beautiful arrangements and have managed to keep their prices reasonable over the years. Ive made the mistake of visiting a few other shops in glendale and Pasadena, and their prices are double and the arrangements are honestly pretty terrible. Prices have risen here over the past few years, but I absolutely believe them when they say that they've had to due to increased prices for them and shipping issues. To be Frank, their prices were way to cheap a few years ago for the product they delivered. This is one of the few businesses that make everything about the customer and make sure the customer receives the best experience possible. Decided to give it one last hope and Yelp gave me Twigs and Thyme. I walked in I felt like I was greeted by everyone in the store, asked if they have premade flowers and they only do custom. Low and behold I asked for something quick as I did not have time and within minutes, I do mean minutes that paved the way for me and made it happened. These ladies in my book are top notch, the process was super easy, super kind people and the variety of flowers they have are beautiful plus a HUGE plus, they have plenty of street parking and I will be visiting again soon. The arrangement I received from Twigs and Thyme was so elegant and beautiful, it almost brought a tear to my eye when I received this unexpected and touching gift from my husband. I was taken back by all of the unique details of the arrangement, I've never seen berries in an arrangement before. The flowers and fillers used were beautiful, above average and unique, and eye catching. Even the finishing touch of the handwritten card tied to the arrangement with the lovely green colored satin ribbon was appreciated. After the delivery, and later in the evening, I loved hearing the background story of my husband's last minute order and conversation with the owner of Twigs and Thyme who went above and beyond to push the order through and get it delivered to me while I was working in the area. Standing there just talking with some friends, I mentioned to her that'll I'll have someone come in later to pick up the arrangement but to my surprise, she had made one while I was just talking.
