Odyssey Fond du Lac 8 - Great place for kids!

The tickets weren't too bad, but I will say food and drink is expensive. I kind of expect it, but the expense does mean I won't be able to go back often. I'll save the full "movie, soda, popcorn, and candy" experience for when I really want to treat the family.

Spend the extra gas money & go to the Marcus cinema in Oshkosh. Our venture started w/ buying the large popcorn 2 large drink combo & being told there was no ice for our drinks because they were too busy & ran out. So we had 2 large drinks & no ice. Ok. Whatever. I get it, you were busy. Then w/ an hour of movie left, I had to use the restroom so my son said I should refill the popcorn since our combo included that & I was going that way. I ran into a worker on my way & confirmed that we were entitled to a refill but was told that the concessions stand was closed so although I was entitled to a refill, I couldn't get it. What? So I throw my bucket away & proceeded to use the restroom. Each stall in the bathroom has room for 4 rolls of toilet paper & the 1st 3 stalls I go into are empty. No toilet paper. What? The theater is packed & no toilet paper? Totally felt like I was at the bar, not seeing a movie with my family. I did find a stall that had one roll so I guess that was a win. Then I go to fill my drink & still no ice so at this point I ask to talk to the manager. The employee tells me he's busy. What? Holy cow! So as I am walking back to my seat I see a young man sweeping up popcorn in the hallway & yell down asking if he's the manager. He says yes. So sweeping up popcorn is more important than dealing with customers? I tell him that he needs to get his $hi@ together because our movie is going to let out in less than an hour & the girls are going to want to use the restroom & would likely want to use toilet paper. He then tells me that my language won't be tolerated & threatened to kick me out. Yeah, I was upset & used the word $hi@ but the statement was," get your $hi@ together", which is what they needed to do. Yes, poor choice of words on my part so I correct my language and used the word crap instead of $hi@ & proceed to go finish watching the movie. When it was over, the manager (Edward) & his side kick were waiting at concessions to tell me on my way out that they had no idea why I was upset because they checked the bathroom & they all had toilet paper. Like what? You waited to call me out? Yeah, because my hobby is going to theatres & lying about bathrooms not having toilet paper. Who does that & how did Edward even become manager with that mind set? Manager Edward & his sidekick need to re-prioritize their nightly chore list & Edward needs to learn some customer service skills. Waiting to call out a customer who was not lying is OUTRAGIOUS! I dont think it's at all unreasonable to expect some ice, popcorn (that I paid for) & toilet paper after spending almost $100 in an establishment. WORST experience I've had in a very long time!

We walked in the door the pleasant worker at the front asked if we purchased online tickets we told her yes and food, she stated she just needed to see them. My husband showed our order to the young man behind counter he handed our cups to him and yelled across to someone that we needed a refund with no further explanation. Unacceptable behavior, I asked another employee why we were unable to get our food and we're informed they do not serve food on Mondays, their website should not allow payment and should state that.

The movie was showing in #8. The seats were modern and comfy as most seating is now, but they were dirty. Garbage was left in the drinkholders. You didn't dare stick your hand in the crack of a seat because they hadn't received a good cleaning in a lonnnnnnng time. Refreshments were extremely overpriced.... $15 for popcorn and a soda, a pair of tickets was nearly $30. My wife had to get up after the movie started rolling and find someone to turn the lights down. The sound was left quiet -- as in at pre - preview level -- the whole time. Our cashier was bored stiff, uninterested and disengaged, as were the concessions folks. Hey, if you hate your job that much, find another line of work! Booo. I have better places to take my entertainment dollars. Next time I hear the theatre industry whining about declining revenue, I'll know why.

This is a great place to catch a movie. The seats are very comfortable; and the sound system is great...albeit maybe a bit loud. I used to think the place was over priced. But now you can catch a matinee (before 1600 hours) for five bucks. You can get a beer or glass of wine and there are the usual concessions. Alas, their choice of beer and wine were not to our liking. I was surprised how dirty the place was, as we caught the first movie of the day. Glad I wasn't barefoot. Amazing to think they left the place that untidy over night. But I'm not some kind of prude who slams a place for being a bit dingy. We went there to see a movie. We wanted comfortable seats and good video and audio. That's what we got. The movie was pretty mind blowing; and we enjoyed ourselves quite a bit. As we were the only people there, we could have made out if we wanted to. But we've been married 22 years so semi public passion no longer appeals to us. Untidiness aside this is a great movie theater. You cannot go wrong going there to catch a matinee. If you want to catch a recent release it would behoove you to check this place out

One of our boys has adhd, and both are energetic, happy kids who get excited, giggle, and whisper about their favorite scenes. We always sit in the back row out of respect for others, understanding that kids might get a little animated during a long movie. Today, however, we were told by a staff member that they "get complaints about us every week" and that "people have even stopped coming because of us." I stepped out with the only other 2 in the back row with us (an elderly lady and young girl about our boys age) to apologize if we were loud or disruptive, she was shocked and denied having any concern with us stating she never heard our boys. Really, Marcus Theatres? That's not only hard to believe but incredibly disheartening to hear. We're talking about paid family movie experiences -- and two 8-year-olds quietly sharing joy over their favorite story. Movies should be a place where kids can experience the magic of storytelling, not where parents feel shamed for bringing them. Please do better to create an inclusive, family-friendly environment where children -- neurodivergent or not -- can enjoy a movie without being made to feel unwelcome. Let kids be kids.
