We just moved to Manitowoc a month ago, and we're excited to find a movie theater in town! They have a wide selection of movies. The lobby is large, clean, and well lit. The staff is friendly and engaging. We got our tickets, popcorn, drink and found our theater. What I liked is they don't automatically add extra butter or salt to your popcorn. They have all that on the side to add tour own if you wish. The theater itself was large with comfortable seats. They had commercials and trivia on the screen before the previews started. Once the actual movie starts, the screen elongates to get bigger! I thought that was cool. The sound quality was great, and the theater was clean. I can't wait to return to AMC for the next movie I'd like to see. What a great movie experience. read more

We are new to the area. This was our first time here. It was easy to purchase tickets. As a matter of fact, you can buy tickets and all your snacks at once at the concession counter. I found the seats comfortable. The acoustics were perfect. The prices here are reasonable. This is a nice experience for moviegoers. read more

Took the fam to a movie last night. Most uncomfortable I've never been at a movie... and for once it wasn't related to seats. It was a humid night for Wisconsin and even thought it was comfortable in the lobby and halls it was sauna humid in the theater! Sweaty hot ! Went to a movie today. There was a long line of people waiting to buy tickets and only 1 person working the counter. She finally left the counter to go get another person to help. People were not happy. After the movie told the kid at the counter the women's bathroom was filthy and disgusting, there was no paper toweling and 1of the stalls had no TP. My husband said the kid laughed after I turned away. Someone needs to get their act together!! read more

Went to see Aquaman yesterday. Delighted by the young woman who sold us our tickets. She was the one who dubbed me "Mr. Groot" when she worked at Family Video. This is a great place to catch a movie. The seats are very comfortable; and the sound system is great...albeit maybe a bit loud. I used to think the place was over priced. But now you can catch a matinee (before 1600 hours) for five bucks. You can get a beer or glass of wine and there are the usual concessions. Alas, their choice of beer and wine were not to our liking. I was surprised how dirty the place was, as we caught the first movie of the day. Glad I wasn't barefoot. Amazing to think they left the place that untidy over night. But I'm not some kind of prude who slams a place for being a bit dingy. We went there to see a movie. We wanted comfortable seats and good video and audio. That's what we got. The movie was pretty mind blowing; and we enjoyed ourselves quite a bit. As we were the only people there, we could have made out if we wanted to. But we've been married 22 years so semi public passion no longer appeals to us. Untidiness aside this is a great movie theater. You cannot go wrong going there to catch a matinee. We went to a movie tonight. The floor in the theater had popcorn all over and it was in small pieces like people had walked on the popcorn several times. It looked as though the floor has not been vacuumed in days. Our son worked at a Marcus theater and had to clean and vacuum the theater after each show. I think our theater should take note!! Also, the bathrooms needed cleaning and the 2 stalls had no toilet paper and the last one was close to being out. It could be a nice theater, but the managers need to take pride in what Manitowoc has. read more

This movie theater really does have it all! The concession stands offer a lot of fresh items, you can have a beer or a glass of wine with your movie, and the theaters themselves are always cleanly and well kept. I've never had a negative experience at this theater, and don't really expect to. They do a really great job with the upkeep, for which I'm thankful because the next closest theater to me is miles and miles and miles away. read more

This is the best movie theater hands down. Popcorn is always fresh. They have a popcorn station where you can put more salt, cheese salt, and butter on. Not to mention you can also build your own soda. CUSTOMIZATION, need I say more? Also, they serve beer and wine, YAY. The seats are comfortable, the floors aren't sticky, and they do a good job keeping the theaters clean. The bathrooms are hit or miss, but are usually fairly clean. No other theater can compare. I wish Carmike Cinemas were everywhere (especially Appleton, we literally drive all the way from Appleton to Manitowoc to go to the movies-how messed up is that) read more

The theater is fine. The problem was the temperature. It was so cold inside that we had to keep our winter coats on. I told the ticket taker and he just shook his head. How do you enjoy a movie freezing to death. I doubt I will come back. read more

This was an unexpected find! The theater is clean with comfortable seating. The food service offers more than just snacks (think pizza) and a bar. The lines have never been overwhelming and we haven't had to deal with the sell out crowds that are common in Green Bay during promotions. The sound and video are fine ."But in the Ultra screen theater the big Problem is the Bright Green lighting coming from the lower front seats and the ultra bright green exit sign's ,they are so bright it's like a hundred cell phones lit up at the same time. The other theaters exit sign's are just as bad.I have been in hundreds of other theaters in the states and abroad and have never experienced such a terrible distraction . We went to see HTTYD 2 at 2:30 and were unable to see the film due to some sort of scheduling glitch. We waited for a bit, the staff told a group ahead of us that they had to leave, their movie was not available. We sat and waited for a bit whiel the staff sat in a huddle chatting when finally another staff member approached and asked if we had been helped. When we said no, she became chilly, almost hostile and told us that was not possible. When we told her what movie we were seeing, see said that was not possible, the movie was playing out of synch from its listed times. Then we were treated as if we should of known they had an issue. A friend went to a later showing of the movie and had the exact same reception. The staff at this location are rude and unprofessional. We are not likely to return. read more

I'm 17 and wasn't allowed to watch a rated R movie: don't come here if your under 18 looking to enjoy a rated R movie. Also, movie time says 9:20 and the advertisements didn't stop until 9:50 when we were forced to go to a bland king Kong movie. read more

This theater is wonderful. It's in impeccable condition, the staff is great, and the prices are reasonable. This theater has top of the line screens and an extremely powerful sound system. We haven't tried out their giant screen yet, but we will soon. For the past 7 or 8 years, my husband & I traveled to Green Bay & Sheboygan to go to movies. Carmike has completely changed that. We will be going to a lot more first run movies now that we don't have to travel out of town. It is so nice to finally have a terrific, impressive theater that the Manitowoc area can be proud of. read more

On the carmike cinema website and on various movie sites it was posted that the movie would be playing at 7:35 pm. Yet when we got there at 7:35 we were informed that the movie was changed to 7:05pm A theaters bulb broke (the previous night) so they rearranged movies. They offered us no compensation, would've appreciated some empathy for our wasted travel due to their ill planning. read more

This used to be a good theater before it became an AMA theater. Carmike card no longer accepted yet no no card offered. Very very dirty theater. Very very dirty bathroom. Paper towel dispenser not working. No toilet paper in the bathroom. A puddle on the floor in front of the toilet. I probably don't want to know what that was. Old popcorn. No refills on large popcorn any longer unless you have their new amc card. Discounted movies on Tuesday only with the card. Not a theater that I will be patronizing in the future. The Marcus theater in Appleton has much better service, is clean, doesn't charge a online fee to purchase 2 tickets with their card while amc is only with card and purchase of 4 tickets. Marcus has assigned seats so I can pick my seats. And by the way $6 for a hot dog at amc is ridiculous. read more
