We come here often to watch movies. It's definitely not for the customer service or bathrooms. We went just the other day and I used one of the women's restroom stalls and the seat is peeling. Like really? Why hasn't that been replaced? Also, if I'm paying $18 for drinks and popcorn, I want fresh popcorn. I asked the older lady at the register if the popcorn was fresh. She said it was. I asked when it was popped, she said this morning, when they opened at 11am. It's now 2pm, that's not fresh. This has happened more than two or three times and it's frustrating. I waited one day after four or five people came and and got popcorn just so I can have fresh popcorn popped. How is three hour popcorn fresh?!?! Anyway, we are only here for a small amount of time during the summer, and it's the closest movie theater, so we deal with it. Other than the people and the popcorn, the movie theater is fine, the seats are fine. read more

A nice cinema for a small town. I'm used to the big city cinamas with 20 or more screens. This one has 6. They are pretty good at showing the top box office movies. The place is clean. They offer popcorn and soft drink combo deals. We'll confinue to use this cinema as long as they are showing the movie wewant to see. read more

Yelp review I had a terrible experience at this theatre, and I will never be coming again. If rules and regulations now are to have a parent with minors, do not swear at minors please. An employee claimed to be as the "manager" showed a way of how to threaten, curse, and give no understanding to a 17 year old girl just curious going to see the exorcist, as curios as I was, I wanted to see how many people were sitting in the Taylor Swift theatre then come right back to my movie. Never had I known this was ever a rule to not look into other movies because I have done it plenty of times in-front of employees with nothing said to me... As I am standing by the door to take a peak, someone comes in informing me I did not pay for this movie so I agreed and totally understood feeling sorry I said "yes okay I'll go back I'm so sorry I was just curious" as someone who has worked customer service for 5 years I have a good understanding of what and what not to do. I understand I was morally wrong but befitting the income of where you work isn't making a group of 10 all get refunds because their one friend was curious, all I asked for was a warning and another chance because I never knew this was a rule. The threaten of calling the police was very unnecessary, I felt as all the employees faces I looked at were embarrassed this was their "manager in charge." My husband and I stopped on a Saturday to see Stan&Ollie. We paid for our tickets, bought our popcorn and soda and found our way down the hall to the theater. The theater was good sized, fairly clean and dark. We enjoyed the movie and thought the service was average. We will continue to see movies here as it is convenient to just go a few blocks rather than 40 miles to Green Bay. read more

This was a great place for a small town theater. They do take credit for tickets and concessions. Prices were really reasonable compared to Madison WI, and the theater itself was good. Didn't smell wet as others reported. They do leave the lights on very dim, but it didn't affect the movie at all. read more

It's the best theater in town! However, it's also the only theater in town. They need to do a better job updating their showtimes on their website and movie line in a timely manner. As stated in other reviews, they only take cash. (What year is this?) [UPDATE: They now accept credit cards!!!) Other than that, they get the big movies right away which is nice because we don't have to go all the way to Green Bay. The sound and picture is just fine. We watched a movie here over Memorial Day weekend. Prices were good, staff was nice, and snacks were good. Not a lot of people at the Sunday 8:45p showing, but maybe that was due to holiday weekend. We were recently in Door County for a wedding on Saturday and we had arrived on Friday. We wanted to see a movie on opening weekend that the drive-in theater didn't offer, so our only choice in Door County seemed to be this theater. It just had the general feeling of dampness. $9 admission was a decent price, being that you're going to pay 11.00 where we are from in Appleton. I cannot speak to the price of the concessions. The bathrooms were clean, but the floors and the seats in the main theaters just seemed to be generally not. I wish I could explain the feeling of moisture and dampness in the whole place, but I can't. I guess the best way to explain it is that it felt like it had just recently rained inside the building. I should know better. Once again I show up at the theater with a family of 5 and forget that they are the only business still in business that DOESN'T ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS. It's nothing to spend $70 on tickets, popcorn and drinks. I don't carry cash! I only had enough money for the kids to see a movie! Because of their backwards business plan they missed out on $40 worth of tkts, popcorn, drinks and candy and left a family of 5 with a really bad experience. Surely the 3% transaction fee is worth the addtional revenues. And to think NBC Today Show just told me this morning that cash is on it's way to extinction with the use of smart phones and credit/debit transactions. Apparently cash is still king in Sturgeon Bay! Just returned from seeing Interstellar, which was phenomenal despite this sorry excuse for a movie theater. 1. It was freezing in the theater, and I had to leave my jacket, gloves and hat on throughout the entire movie. 2. They don't turn off the theater lights when the movie starts. They're just dimmed, like most theaters do during the previews. We asked them, and this is indeed their "policy". I said I wouldn't come back, but this time I mean it. Went and saw Despicable Me 2 this past Sunday and was not impressed by the low audio volume in the theatre. It took away from the experience. The concession line was slow but we enjoyed our popcorn. read more

After seeing the reviews I'm kind of shocked. I knew to bring cash with me so I had no problem there. The staff was friendly and I even found my favorite candy that I can't find at any other theater here. We had comfortable seats, even the bathrooms were clean. TERRIBLE, me and my family were incredibly disappointed to learn that this theater doesn't turn THE lights off in the theater during the showing of movies. That fact was not apparent until one of my family members asked about it . Keeping the theater lights on makes dark scenes in movies completely unwatchable , and compromises the whole movie watching experience . The staff cited customer safety as the reason to keep the lights on in the theater, however the track lights on the ground should be more than sufficient to keep people safe, and if they aren't then this theater should invest in industry standard track lights . I find it very misleading that this theater doesn't tell their customers ahead of buying tickets that they will be keeping the lights on . I know that my family and I will not be returning until this theater can allow for a proper showing of movies. Who would ever want to watch Star Wars with lights on?(no friends of mine) I will be waiting 8 months to go to the drive in. read more

This is an ok theatre. Unfortunately, if a movie happens to come out in 3D, you are stuck with watching it in 3D - except for Tuesdays which they advertise as something special, but it's hard to take the kids or ourselves to a movie during school nights or during the work week. 3D movies aren't a hit in this household, or several that I know of. Because of this we've simply stopped going. We now wait for the movie to come out on Amazon, dvd, blu-Ray etc. or see a play in the area instead. If there was another theatre in town without this policy we would visit far more regularly. read more

Great place, it's not the big city theater it is home town. Offers a good variety of movies and price is great. They do some fun things for premieres which is something a lot of big city theaters don't have. On a rainy day in Door County it can be an option. read more
