Fact: it takes almost dying for most nurses to go to the ER. This was me last week. I honestly had never felt so sick in my entire life. I wanted to write this review because while this has been pretty much my only experience as a patient at a hospital, I am forever grateful for the treatment I received. I came in with a temp of 103.9 and a HR of 140. I was so dizzy I could barely stand. I was triaged within minutes and immediately placed in a bay. Every single staff member (several nurses, doctor, lab, EKG and radiology techs) were absolutely incredible. Professional, skilled, expeditious and truly worked as a team. Even though I was super scared, every team member took the effort to put me at ease. I write this as a retired RN who has worked primarily in ICU, but as well as Burn ICU, peri-operative units, and even a few ER shifts when I was a float nurse. Even though I have never been on the patient side until now, I've seen a things or two. Twin Cities delivered. Turns out I had a pretty severe case of pneumonia but a week later I almost feel myself again. The doctor encouraged me to come back if I ever have any problems or if things worsened. I feel relieved to have emergency care like Twin Cities in our community. I've read some pretty abysmal reviews and being a nurse, I know there are always two sides to the story. My most recent visit to the ER was billed to my old insurance. This is a very time consuming mistake that has yet to be rectified. - I filled out a formal complaint but have received no reply. I reached out to the patient experience email but have not heard back. - I need the claim to be filed with my current insurance ASAP. Your hospital needs to refile this claim. These men and women bend over backwards tomato the uncomfortable and unpleasant conditions we bring to them. While I didn't read every review, I was quite astonished to read the negative ones. My experience today was truly nothing short of seeing a highly qualified doctor to getting proper diagnosises that would rule out anything serious like cancer. I would suggest going to urgent care though and seeing if its necessary to go to the hospital since they are very busy and sometimes the patients really need help and can slow the process for you to be seen. Its very clean and advanced I got a cat scan when needed ultra sound and x rays all ruling out problems that would tell me if I had to stop any physical work. So far im ruling out cancer and I can say they are doing everything that any great hospital would do. Everything is state of the art and once you are seen you will know they have everything to rule out anything serious so hopefully that brings a peace of mind if you do decide to come here. If you are patience they are here for you I dont think there are any hospitals in the world that can get you in and out quickly. But I can say when I came by ambulance one time they were very quick to give me comfort. read more

If I could give a zero I would. I sat in the Ear waiting room for three hours, got my nose swabbed. Waited another hour. Saw the doctor for a whole 6 minutes. He called in a prescription. Then, I was on my way not feeling any better. I paid almost $600 the day of the visit. I already paid the doctor and lab, which were separate. Now I just got another hospital bill for nearly $500. I took a fall in my back yard, lost my breath for a few minutes, but my rib area & groin, were painful I waited until next morning , walking was very painful. It was 6:30 AM. & I was taken to Twin Cities. Wasn't busy & was taken in back to ER. female doctor examined me & ordered X-rays . Technician came & took X-rays. Doctor came back & said I had a pulled groin muscle & 3 bruised ribs, I asked if it would be ok to go to San Diego for a graduation, she said I should be fine, so I went!, My sons girlfriend is a nurse at SCRIPPS , She put me in her car & went to Scripps ER. Examined by orthopedic doctor, took X-rays, Not Sure if it was an MRI OR Cat scan. But not in bed X-rays with portable. doctor came back & said I HAD 3 fractured ribs & a fractured pelvis!! He had me admitted & complete bed rest for 5 days in the hospital , I had to have assistance to & from the bathroom, my bed was alarmed!!! I was on pain medication,,, DOC couldn't believe my diagnosis from Twin Cities I returned to my home in Templeton, I used a walker, then a cane, took a while to recover, THAT WAS MY FIRST & LAST. Staff seemed competent with their job with the exception of the patient facing front staff, they were poor. You would think the people facing the patient would exhibit some compassion and care. This is the same complaint I have about Templeton Imaging. Clinical staff is great but the people who start the process are horrible. I realize that it is a tough job admitting patients but if you can't exhibit a level of concern and compassion, GET ANOTHER JOB! My wife went there on a Monday because she was short of breath and had a very low Hemoglobin number and was advised by her PCP to get to the ER for a transfusion. Long wait in the ER waiting room, finally got a bed in a room. Nurses there seemed proficient and friendly, one specifically was very attentive, wish I caught his name. Finally admitted to a room and the journey began. She ended up with three units of blood and an upper GI procedure. In the end she was discharged on Thursday with VERY unclear discharge orders. Not sure what discharge planning there was since I was there in the afternoon and nothing was listed on the board about a plan. Overall if there was another choice I would take it. I know there were a lot of complaint about Tenet but at least they seemed better. I find this disappointing because I worked for Adventist East and consider it to be a fine organization. Again the nurses and most of the staff are very good but the challenge is the front facing people don't seem to care. read more

First off: nurses are wonderful and I can't say enough good things about them. 2 stars purely for nurses. 0 stars for policies/facilities. I went to ER for hemorrhaging and was admitted. The blankets are basically sheets and you freeze to death. The machines are so old they randomly start blaring alarm noises in the middle of the night, over and over and over and it's impossible to sleep at all. You're basically chained to the wall by tubes with no easy "click-unclick" mechanism which means you have to call a nurse every time you have to pee. In the morning, when you've not gotten any sleep due to the screeching machine noises and having to ask to pee like a toddler, they bring you some cold and overcooked scrambled eggs. 1/4 star, rounded down, because it's pretty clean. Long wait time in ER, gruff intake person. Nurses were nice. Treatment for impacted stool gave me HORRIBLE diarrhea for two days. Plug could have been removed manually instead of a laxative overdose. read more

You are better off going anywhere but here. I went back to the ER because I had 2 simple yes or no Questions to ask. The ER was filling up pretty fast. I was not sick! They still put me in a room and probably charged me for an ER visit while real sick people were in the waiting room. Well the doctor couldn't answer my question or refer me to a neurologist even though it was the ER doctor that said i needed to go. Oh this hospital makes sure they get paid. They really need to change the way they do things. Listen to the patients. If they come in saying they only have 2 quick questions and they are not sick dont go putting them in their own room / bed to wait while the ones that need it are in the waiting room just waiting. This hospital is only about the money. Thats how I feel. Staff needs a wake up call or maybe undercover news reporter needs to do a segment as a wake up call. read more

Over the weekend, we were visiting Big Sur camping with family and friends when my son had a pretty bad scooter accident. Big gash on his face, screaming in shock and fear, blood everywhere. My husband and I had to drive 20-30 miles down to get reception and found Twin Cities ER. This was our VERY first visit to the ER and when we arrived, they took us IMMEDIATELY and provided us with the best care for our son. Our Dr and our nurse (Mr. Luke) were beyond amazing and their professionalism put us as ease. read more

Always dread going to TC ER. If am able to drag myself over the grade to French I would. This time it was not possible. Friday evening light got me in quickly, but after a couple hours of troubleshooting, determined what I needed they could not do there. Depth of service is sad, and was going to transfer to Sierra Vista (which is even a worse facility). But no openings until morning! So a painful horrible night followed by lack of communication in the morning before a painful transport to SV. Hours there in an overcrowded floor waiting for a 30 procedure then a couple of more hours before being transferred back to TC. Only reason for 3 stars is for most of the nursing staff! That is where the compassion and empathy lies. Despite being understaffed, I received great care. Of note was Erika, who really understood my needs and kept me feeling positive. Great sense of humor and always went above and beyond. Even killed a spider (evidence of lack of cleanliness) with her foot! So brave lol. Both facilities lack cleanliness, updates, and efficiency. Tenet has destroyed any patient oriented administration. Hopefully the new owners will recognize this and try to be more like Dignity. 4/26/24: Provided information requested and nothing but crickets. About a week ago I had to take my daughter in. Thankfully the person in the check in are was nice. They passed her in which in a timely manner. The nurses, the doctor, and staff were so kind, and considerate of her and what she was going through. When the doctor told us they were not equipped to do what she needed to get done; he told me that he would not stop in find a place for her and thank god for that doctor and everyone that was helping her that day. They gave her the best care mean while she was there. I will forever be grateful to them for treating my that day. read more

The stars are because the nurse and doctor who helped us once we got a room were amazing, empathetic and kind. The lack of stars is due the appalling behavior we received from the male triage nurse working on the night of 2/26/26. We brought our 8 month old baby in due to concerns of lethargy and shallow breathing because he was very sick. I was crying and very worried and he spoke to my husband and I in a very condescending manner and completely brushed off all of our concerns. He even told us if we were that worried that we should have called an ambulance. Not sure what he was trying to imply by the things he was saying to us. Once we were back in the triage area his behavior did a complete 180 which I also thought was very strange. I'm not usually one to write a review but I'm still thinking about the way we were treated by this man over 24 hours later as I'm caring for my extremely sick child who has shown zero signs of improvement. Both of my children were born in this hospital so to have this kind of experience here was shocking and disappointing to say the least. Excellent experience in the emergency room. On the evening of 1/5, my husband took a fall and it was evident that he needed stitches. In addition, he hurt his ribs and shoulder. He received quick and thorough care in the ED. CT, x-rays, lab work, ultrasound and sutures. We were treated with kindness and professionalism. We are lucky to have TCCH in our community. read more

I didn't need their services but I called a head of time, just incase I did. The ER nurse was extremely helpful. We were gonna be at a location filled with rattle snakes and wanted to make sure where and who had the nearest anti-venom . This hospital carries it. The nurse gave me a few refresher pointers incase we had a incident and reassured me anyone bitten would be well taken care of. read more

My elderly mother fell and broke her hip. We recently moved from Bay Area. Dr Lanny Rudner was the on call ER orthopedic surgeon. Immediately I liked him. He took the time to explain to me the big picture and the details. Unlike a lot of doctors he was really present when talking to him. Surgery went great. I did my research on him and learned he's only in Templeton a few days a month as his main practice is in LA area. He works out of Cedars Sinai. His reviews are amazing and it's clear why! My dad was admitted to this hospital in 2024 with serious kidney issues. The staff worked quickly at that time to stabilize him and help him recover. I arrived about 6 days into his stay. I could tell something was not right. His doctor was not on site at the hospital all the time and relied heavily on communication with nurses. I kept telling his nurses his stomach pain was not typical and his cognition was off. He was in a lot of pain and they were talking about discharging him to rehab. Since I work in the medical profession and have worked for over a decade in the hospital, I could tell he wasn't stable. When I brought up my concerns to his day nurse she offered him Gas-x which had made his pain worse before so of course we declined that. She told me that she often sees people wanting their loved ones to get better but for my dad it will take time because he is old. She actually said that. I raised the concern of his pain to a critically thinking night nurse who came on and she suggested we get some samples and run tests that confirmed he was bleeding internally. A GI consult was ordered and there was some confusion where my dad couldn't drink anything all day and wasn't even seen by the GI docs and his dialysis was delayed. My dad was in a freezing cold room and was parched and hungry. No one could tell me what steps were being taken to get the GI docs in to see him. I finally asked to speak to the house supervisor as it was Friday night and there was no patient advocate to speak to. I expressed my frustration about the confusion and how my dad had been waiting all day to get evaluated and had been kept nothing by mouth. The response was that people can survive without food or water for more than a day. I was floored. Where is the compassion for another human? Where is the empathy in this response? He asked me what I wanted and I replied for my dad to be able to drink some fluids, eat food, and for there to be improved communication with the staff. The food and water helped my dad feel better that night. The next day we found out from the GI consult he had a severe ulcer that subsequently perforated as a result of the test. I saw him writhing in pain and was told the X-ray shows gas bubbles in his intestines. I knew there was no way that was correct and felt that I had to continue to advocate for further work up. He ended up having emergency surgery for his bowel perforation and then had to stay in the hospital for about another week. That experience made me terrified to leave my dad because I did not feel that his condition was being looked at critically and that his concerns were being heard by nurses and communicated to his doctor. The GI docs and the surgeon who performed his bowel surgery were awesome. The ICU and step down ICU team were exemplary and had to deal with my PTSD from the sub par care he had received on the medical floor. By the time he discharged he really did seem like he was turning a corner and was getting better. I left my dad with hope for his recovery. The day he died he had a great lunch and really enjoyed his coffee at the rehab center. He knew he needed therapy there to get better to get home to his wife. Sadly he died that day of cardiac arrest during his first outpatient dialysis appointment. My dad was a man who believed the best in people. He really placed his trust in others. Sadly he placed his trust in some who lacked the ability to observe, question and seek out answers and communicate concerning issues to his doctor. I'm not saying he would still be alive if his pain was addressed earlier, but maybe a significant surgery and pain could have been avoided if he was listened to earlier and not passed off as "being old." Maybe his last days could have been a little more comfortable. Twin Cities Hospital, it's time to listen to your patients, communicate with your team members and act on concerns raised by patients and family members. read more

I went in to this ER for stomach pain and a headache and left with a schizophrenia diagnosis and a 50-150 on my record. The doctor, Oma Knox MD, ignored my symptoms which progressively got worse over the following year. I have follow up testimony from doctors at UCLA who can confirm this. I'm currently a double major in college, the schizophrenia diagnosis was disrespectful and INSULTING to my intelligence. My family and I are SERIOUSLY considering suing her as well as the hospital. If you want your health concerns to be taken seriously, this hospital should be avoided. read more

I had no problems, staff was nice and friendly. I was constantly hungry after waking up from surgery and they were nice enough to give me as much jello as I wanted. Only stayed 1 night, this was with the out patient facility so my personal OBGYN preformed my surgery and came to release me the next day after checking up on me. Despite making up fraudulent claims to my insurance company, despite lying to my face saying I would just be responsible for co payment of $85 and they charge me $630 for three different visits. They're somehow going to get away with us. I've been battling with them and my insurance company for the last three months and tenant health continues to lie in order to make as much money as possible at the expense of the patient. Had a fall on a Tuesday night but managed to stop the head bleeding and figured I was fine. A few days later with nausea, vomiting and some difficulty focusing I decided to get a medical opinion. I believe it was Crystal that registered me, and I was seen by Dr. Koch. The process was professional and timely. I was given a CAT scan and was assured that it was only a concussion and nothing further. Peace of mind is a great thing. Dr Koch and his staff were professional and quaity. Visited the ER for chest pain. Acted quickly and gave me some medications that took the pain away quickly. I wish I knew what that cocktail was!?! Ended up being. A gastrointestinal issue. Better safe than sorry. I do hate when illness strikes in the middle of the night but glad this hospital is here. I have terrible experiences here in the past but this visit was okay. Receiving care from Twin Cities "Community" Hospital is like playing healthcare roulette. It's a literal crap shoot, some staff are good while others clearly hate their jobs and patients. Recently my elderly father was transported here via ambulance despite our request that he go to French. He arrived and received sub-standard care. They were more concerned about us registering him through their crappy portal than actually providing medical care. During our 5 hour adventure he was allowed to lay on the bed with open wounds oozing puss and dripping blood onto the bed and floor, no one bothered to clean and dress these wounds at any point during his stay. I am extremely concerned that he was exposed to a range of potential infections, MRSA, C-Dif, Staph, etc. No urinalysis or blood work were conducted, no scans, MRI's or even an x-ray were performed. They treated his pain and then discharged him but took their sweet time in doing so. TCCH needs to do better. read more
