Most importantly, I left my prescription glasses which must have fallen from my purse when I reached for my cellphone to make sure it was turned off prior to the movie. I knew they had to be left at the theater when I could not find them. I thought they would be thrown away but decided to go back and ask if they had a lost and found. A very nice young man asked if my glasses were all black and I said yes. He said, "Just a moment," and went and got my glasses and brought them back to me. I am so grateful. The only local cinema that is still affordable for families, the entrance fee is currently (as of 5/2008) $5.00 for adults, and $3.50 for children. The concessions will also remind us of our youth, with most prices for concessions under $2.00 each. The Dolby Surround system is state of the art. Restrooms are always clean, and the seats are stadium style-seating, mostly rocking chairs with ample room, with a balcony, to boot! The historical feel has been kept up, while the viewing and sound is the newest technology. Drawbacks... only one showing on weeknights (7pm), 2 on weekends (7pm and 9pm, generally)... but in a town of 1800 +/-, this is understandable. It doesn't. 2.) The online website and programming of what's on screen is not extra special. First run films are better left to the cineplexes. This space would suit a well-curated art house, classic cinema, and rarely seen films for a large swath of audiences in the Brazos Valley. I live right around the corner and the 50th Anniversary screening of Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon was the first film since their launch (in current iteration)...it was fun to experience on a large screen. 3.) What is unclear from the online presence is that food can be served to your seat. I looked extensively in the sight but this was not evident to me until we arrived. The menu is very pedestrian, burgers, greasy fries and more fried things, and standard salads. Again, nothing special or unique. 4.). Why are tickets for future screenings unavailable since they are already advertised? Also, there was a lot of noise in the lobby during the film and the house lights did not come up after the film concluded. This was my first time here and I can't see myself going back…read more The way you receive the food ordered on their website is by getting up from your seat and going to the door of the theater. I thought this would be less annoying / disruptive than the wait staff walking through the aisles-- it was not. Every time someone went to pick up their food, they had to wade through the seats, which means they will block your view. Then, after they receive their food, the door to the theater slams. It was very loud and disruptive, especially during tense or quiet parts of the movie. swear to god, I counted upwards of 30 door slams. How have yall not ensured that the doors are soft close? How have you not trained your staff to ensure that the door shuts quietly?
