Not the best around This is one of the first big stops on the Road To Hana. There's a fruit stand and lots of parking spaces. Can't be missed.... We came here after there was heavy rain the day before, so we knew, there would be a bit more water than usual. The walk to the Falls is quite nice, very green and has nice bamboo sections. It feels like you're in the Jungle or the Rainforest. Lots of Mosquitoes too....bring some repellent. The Falls and ponds were a bit disappointing. The water came pouring down, so it was just one big fall instead of two. But still, we were thinking: That is it?? It's ok for walk and a few pics. But later on Hana Hwy there are much better Falls and places to visit than this one. So, walk in, take some pics and move on. Better things are still to come and you don't wanna waste your precious time, you will need it. Park as close to the entrance as possible. There are lots of break-ins, so you don't wanna park in a too remote spot. Don't leave valuables in the car....that goes for the whole trip! read more

This was a great experience. The hike is very easy about 20 minutes up. 20 minutes down. The waterfalls are well worth it and beautiful to see you can even swim in them too I highly recommend if you're in the Maui area and wanting to go for a drive it was about a 40 minute drive there from where the place we stayed at. read more

The scenery, flora, and waterfalls were amazing! This was probably my favorite destination and hike out of all the spots we visited on Maui. But beware of the local parking attendants as they are very, very rude and unprofessional. I was parked close to their station and constantly heard the profanities spewed at tourists (both to the tourists faces and behind their backs) while we were there. This was the first water fall stop on our Road to Hana. Probably wouldn't recommend this one for babies and young children because it is a bit of an extremely muddy hike that involves climbing and getting really dirty. There's two waterfalls at the end, hence the name twin falls. It's definitely a cool experience, but can I just say..... WHY THE WATER SO BROWN? LOL. Anywhoooo, fun crazy little hike. read more

Bring mosquito repellent because you will get bit, especially in the summer. There are a few falls that you can see on this trail. There are lovely plants and flowers along the way but the mosquitos seriously put a damper on the experience. Bring water socks if you want to walk across a small stream to get to the further falls. Give a donation to the folks who open up their private property to the public. read more

The Falls were nice. It's the staff that makes this a not so nice place to visit. The way the entrance is set up (construction orange pylons and construction tape) you're given the impression that you can't go in that way. But, try to go in past the pylons and you get yelled at through a megaphone. RUDELY!!! This individual is obnoxious and isn't welcoming in any way. If an employee of mine behaved this way, they'd no longer be employed with me. I did see the video posted and yes, that's the rude individual. Until the attitude of the workers and the entrance is corrected, I do not recommend the falls. There are more falls down the road that you don't require a parking fee and obnoxious workers. read more

Great hike! We got their right when it opened (8am) and walked the 25 min to the twin falls. The trail was large and easy to navigate.

I think it was just okay. The waterfalls weren't amazing or anything. They have a snack bar at the front. I didn't try anything so I can't rate that. I like that I got to see it once but I won't be returning. read more

We chose not to drive the road to Hana because that would have taken at least 1 full day, if not two and we just didn't have that kind of time when there were so many things we'd rather have done. There was a great farmer's stand at the entrance & we got a smoothie! (At the exit, we also got some more fruits for the drive/ to make drinks at the resort) This hike was cool, we wore gym clothes, brought the gopro and hiked the first bit in to the little fall. But, if you go up farther, through the gate that says "experienced hikers only" you'll find a bigger fall. Most people don't jump off that one. We did, and it was truly exhilarating. Be careful though, scope out your landing spot first so you know you'll have a deep enough place to land read more

Parking is a bit difficult. There's a small market/cafe selling fresh coconut, smoothie and other expensive fresh goodies right by the entrance. I wish there's more clear signs and information about where exactly we're supposed to walk to see the Twin Falls. We saw some Falls, but weren't exactly sure what fall we were looking at. People were swimming in the lake. Restroom/potter potties are available. read more

Took a plunge at the first waterfall. Just be careful of the rocks and the tree under the water, you can't see it and I got a nice little stab. I highly recommend wearing water shoes, or shoes that you don't want to get wet. You will have to cross the water. The current is decent strength, so be careful with your kids. Worth going to at least once. The hike to falls takes about 5 minutes, just follow the crowd. It was muddy when I went so I'd recommend wearing proper shoes. If you're driving east on the Hana Highway, the first time you see a bunch of cars parked on the side of the road, this will likely mean that you have arrived. Be wary of car break-ins so make sure you take everything valuable with you. read more

Super green, the walk in is very green and pretty There are porter potty a for you if you really need to pee before the drive It's about a quarter or maybe half easy walk up to the water fall. You can't go in the water, well they don't recommend it but I still see ppl go in so if you are a daring one than go for it I'm sure it would be a blast! read more

I did see many people on the hike with sneakers or flip flops on. However, I would not recommend either. Definitely wear water shoes if you have them. You will ruin your sneakers and if you try flip flops, you could easily slip on a wet rock. It's a very enjoyable hike but it is VERY muddy, especially with the frequent but short rains. I'm not sure about there being a calm pool to swim in - we did a decent amount of the trail and most of the waterfalls and the river were pretty ferocious, like a wild rapids. Maybe we missed some part of the trail? I will say, it is true that there are an untold number of waterfalls, so don't just look at the first one (the "Twin", near the beginning), there are many, many more, but the downside is, there is no map and the trails are not marked at all, so you have to explore it for yourself...which is half the fun. So we didn't end up getting to see the waterfall because we tried to get a lyft ride, which worked out fine until he pulled in to drop us off and we were told we couldn't get out of the car. They will not allow you to get a ride to the falls and be dropped off. We asked how we could see the falls and they said the only way they will allow you in is to drive your own car there and park. WATER SHOES!!!!! I'm the idiot that brought them, left them on the car, saw people walking with flip flops and thought "those idiots! why are they walking in flip flops!" I had to basically drench my new tennis shoes in water! :( Remember to bring water shoes or flip flops! Be in a swimsuit if you want to go into the water near the water fall! At least I was smart enough to wear a swim suit! But esirously don't miss twin falls on your maui trip! It is so amazing and fun to trudge through water to get to the water fall. It's so beautiful. Maybe also bring some mosquito bite medicine. People say that cars get broken into here. I'd say the would occur during less busy times. Also, don't park on the side parking area. This trail was one of me and my wife's favorites while on our honeymoon. Upon parking at the small lot, you are met by a cone dressed up as a lady (looks way funnier/cooler than it sounds lol!). There's also a snack truck at the entrance that sells all sorts of goodies from banana bread to young coconuts to star fruit and red bananas to fresh Maui Gold pineapples! The hike itself isn't that strenuous and takes you through lush vegetation and a flowing creek. I recommend packing the water shoes as they will come in handy when you need to walk through the creek. At the end of the trail you reach the falls and the cool running water/pool accompanying it. If you are a good swimmer and can take deep water, I recommend swimming around. Otherwise, I'd stick to the perimeter to ensure you're in shallow waters. Also, the falls are more forceful than you'd think looking at it, so be prepared if you decide to swim in it! read more

Just past mile marker #2 on the road to Hana sits the head of the Twin Falls Trail. It is approximately 2 miles, 30 mins to walk to the end of the trail where you see the beautiful Twin Falls. You can swim in the pool created by the falls. Along the journey there are endless stunning flowers and vegetation. Many fruit trees are found along the way. We found coconuts, bananas, avocado, pineapple, papaya and sugar cane. At the head of the trail you will find the Twin Falls Fruit Stand where you can get several fruit juices and smoothies from fresh fruits mentioned above. This trail is great for people of all ages and has a nice, wide trail with very little elevation. You will need to pass through a tricky, slippery stream at about 2.5-ft deep to get all the way back to the Twin Falls. read more

The fruit stand before the trail is a must; either before your hike or after. It's really a refreshing stop and good place to get local fruit. We made the stop before our hike...it added weight to our backpacks, but we enjoyed the fruit the whole entire time. Good stuff! For those unfamiliar to Maui, I highly recommend this trail. It has a decent parking lot, port-a-pots, and snacks for your intro to Maui orientation. I've seen three waterfalls here and usually show my friends and family the first waterfall which is easy access, the third waterfall, and the fourth. I don't know why I don't go to the second. I guess it's because I like the route to the third waterfall. It feels like you are going on an adventure. Bring bug repellent, decent shoes (water shoes are easiest) you don't mind will get dirty, and perhaps a light towel. Everything after that gets excessive and heavy for a long walk (I learned this the hard way). I'm scared of heights so I'll never jump off a cliff, but if you're into that kind of thing, be careful. read more

This will not be the prettiest hike in Maui but it's easy and simple one. Very muddy. Water shoes recommended if you have them. The length is determine on how many falls you want to see along the way. The coolest part is that you can jump off from some of the waterfalls. Also a juice and fruit stand outside the entrance. This was our last stop on the Road to Hana (we went in reverse). We were exhausted from the climbing/swimming/driving, but it was still worth a bit of a stop. We got there just as the fruit stand was about to close up shop. It was around 3 or so. We wanted to get to the second fall, so we hiked up about 20 minutes. It was a beautiful walk. You can definitely swim in the water, but it's a bit rocky, so it may be a little difficult getting in and out of the water. The waterfall itself was gorgeous as well. I walked over to the other side, so that I got under the water fall as well. It makes for an awesome picture too! Warning: LOTS OF BUGS. MOSQUITOS HAVE A FIELD DAY WITH ALL THE TOURISTS THERE. I AM A VICTIM. Seriously. We were pretty much all good with bug bites until we got here. We were ravaged by those little pests. Definitely something to take into consideration, especially if you're allergic like I am. read more

Beautiful trail for all skill levels. Very easy walk. Parts can be muddy and rocky. Wearing water shoes or trail sandals will help. This is a beautiful place. I hope it stays that way. The sign says leave only your foot prints, so do it! If you see some trash pick it up and pack it out. The falls are amazing. The water is refreshing and good for swimming. The falls are powerful so be sure of your ability. Bug repellent is necessary, but since this is a beautiful natural resource, non impact products should be used. I used an essential oil natural rosemary/lemon grass repellent and I don't have any bites. Also mineral sunscreen will help protect the environment if you plan on swimming as chemical sunscreens are toxic to the ecosystem. Bring cash because the popsicles are so good and refreshing. We also bought cut pineapple and sugar cane juice. A special island treat to enjoy on our way down the Hana highway. Also, thieves know that tourists frequent this location. So don't leave anything in your car and lock it up! This goes for all hiking stops. read more

If you enjoy swimming around waterfalls and hiking through the beautiful Maui jungle then this place is a must. It is on the road to Hana and is easy to find if you follow the yelp directions. The entrance is beside a fruitstand. There are also portable toilets available. There are two falls- the first is easily accessible, and the second is further down the path and requires walking across stones and wading through the water. Water shoes and mosquito repellent really help. Great place for a short day trip! :) read more

Really beautiful and easy hike with a nice reward at the end. In total took about 20-30 minutes to get to the last falls which was really great for pictures. I believe someone mentioned the falls was about 35 feet tall. This falls was one where you into it and the falls come from above. There was also a cool walkway along the back perimeter of the walk that was a nice chill area. I didn't get to one of the falls so I am not sure as to whether I saw the first or second, but it was my favorite for sure. There is an entrance from above so you can easily walk down and jump from the ledges. It was also a very peaceful spot and there was only a few others that were there which is really cool as well. On the way to last falls there is a cool off trail through some tight trees and that was a really neat part of the hike that I recommend taking. read more

It takes like 25 minutes to trek to the actual falls. Tons of foliage and dope Hawaiian plants to peep as you stroll by. Don't be touchin and pickin at these plants, homie. ITS FREE!!!! and beautiful... Twin Falls Maui Farm Stand in Haiku, HI was an exhilarating experience. The waterfall was more like a 1 miles, and 25-35 minute walk (definitely take comfortable rugged shoes, not water booties). The falls are not Maui Revealed book that had suggested only stopping at the Twin Falls stop for banana bread and snacks. The water at the waterfall was very clean and amazing to see the falls,and perspiring rock cave surrounding them. People of all ages go, although not easy for the elderly to hike up and into the water/cave because of terrain conditions. The water is SUPER cold, but worth it. GREAT picture spot, and ITS FREE!!! Once you leave, you must try the fresh coconuts/smoothies/banana candy, etc from the food truck which is amazing. Also interesting people watching. Parking is quite complicated, so make sure you watch that you are parked in a legal spot. read more

This is a must visit in Maui. I'm a sucker for waterfalls, especially awesome ones. Once you park and go past that twin falls stand, turn left towards the bamboo. You'll be able to go down and see two smaller waterfalls where you can swim in. I think the bottom pools are actually larger. In March the water is cold, but if you're a hot-blooded American you'll go in regardless. No joke, my body was burning after I got out. Less than 1/4 mile up the hill from where you talk that detour through the bamboo is the second waterfall. This one you'll see more people and great spots for cliff jumping. The jump isn't bad, maybe about 6 feet. The water isn't as cold, but it sure is refreshing. Your skin smells clean afterwards! The sights are beautiful! read more

Family friendly trail. You see lots of families walking this trail even with infants. Not a very hard hike and the falls at the end is beautiful. Saw a few people jump off into the main pool but most people just enjoyed swimming in the open water. Very cold since it it's fresh spring water. I enjoy hiking and this one is great for nearly everyone. The beginning of the trail is really wide and easy to handle. It gets a tiny bit tricky when crossing the streams to get to the final two waterfalls. I recommend wearing flip-flops or water shoes. Beautiful tropical foliage and a nice, simple hike. read more

We stopped here on our road to Hana trip. The hiking trail for most of the way to the large wayerfall is very wide and not too hilly. Towards the end you have to cross a narrow walkway and go up and down several steps. The scenery along the way is great. We saw a banana tree and lots of different flowers. Lots of rain the week we went so the waterfall was really flowing! I like the comment below recommending water shoes. You will be walking through rocks and you may not be able to see them. We had them with us, but saw others walking barefoot, ouch! Also, this is the first waterfall on the road to Hana. Get there early or stop on the way back, everyone stops there in the morning and the lot fills up quickly. read more
