Anyway, since then I've been back 3 more times; once for breakfast and twice for brunch. And while I'm confessing, the two times for lunch were on subsequent days. Yeah, they're that good. Actually, their chicken salad on a croissant is the best I've ever had and in my advanced years I've had a crapload of chicken salad. The have a nice sized coffee bar, decorated beautifully with some pretty delicious looking pastries. I'm on an anti-sweet phase so I'm basing my opinion on only on appearance. Then there's a seating area when you can eat, served by a friendly attentive staff and an adjacent boutique area where you can purchase housewares, clothing and other cool stuff. I'm not in Maplewood all that often, generally when I'm shopping at the equally awesome City Workshop but when I do, I always make sure to hit up Perch. You should too. 1/2 star deduction because they don't offer fake sugar, just that Stevia crap which is gross.

The wall frames and Christmas decorations are gorgeous and there are tables, with comfortable seating, on one end of the Cafe. I ordered the following: Matcha White Hot Chocolate (a traditional matcha latte blended with white chocolate sauce), Snickerdoodle Latte (A traditional latte, blended with brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla syrup). Both of these were served at the perfect temperature, were richly creamy, and served in large mugs. I also ordered a Carrot Cake Muffin and it was very good. It was moist, each forkful had a decent amount of walnuts, and the frosting was exquisite. Once you're finished with your food, don't forget to stroll through the entire cafe. You'll probably find something that will pique your interest. Either way, try to make time to enjoy it all.

From our very first conversation, Vic was easy to work with, offered helpful advice, and made the entire planning process simple and stress-free. Communication was clear, decisions were easy, and we felt completely supported throughout. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The appetizers were delicious and beautifully presented, dinner was excellent, and the desserts were fantastic -- and the warm chocolate chip cookies are a MUST. Our guests are still talking about them! The staff was friendly, professional, and personable all evening. Service felt attentive without ever being intrusive, and everything ran smoothly. The décor and atmosphere are upscale, modern, and fun, with a youthful energy that made the night feel festive and special. We are so grateful for such a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend Moonshine for any celebration.

I soon realized why . Sat at the bar and the bartender hands us the drink menu , no greetings , no good afternoon . They must train their staff to be more welcoming and pleasant . We left after one drink because the vibe was just dead . Do not recommend .

The venue itself is decent, especially the back garden room, which is the nicest space in my opinion. It has large glass windows and a nice ambiance, especially in the evening. However, they often have multiple events going on at once, and if your party isn't clearly directed to the right room, it can get confusing. Parking is free but limited, and it can be a hassle depending on how busy the night is. Food is hit or miss since it's usually buffet-style. Some items are okay. Like the spare ribs they're known for but overall it doesn't always taste freshly prepared and can sometimes be overly salty. The bar is also inconsistent; I've had well-made drinks, but other times they've been watered down. On one visit, I even found a bug in my drink, but the bartender did replace it without issue. On the positive side, the staff is consistently friendly, accommodating, and service is usually quick. Overall, it's a decent spot for casual events like birthdays or retirement parties, but not ideal for anything more upscale or polished in my opinion.

The waiters were always cleaning up and moving things out of our way which was nice. The food was served buffet style. The food wasnt bad but it was a bit underwhelming. I thought it would have more flavor. The women's bathroom was also kind of a mess which surprised me because the venue looked pretty. In the space we were in, it only had 2 stalls and one of the stall doors was broken. If they fix that and make their food more flavorful it would be a perfect space to host gatherings.

This place will satisfy even the most discerning palate. If you find yourself out an about on a day they are open, I highly recommend stopping in for a cocktail or two. They serve not only the best and most delicious cocktails in the area, the prices can't be beat! There is a small parking lot down the driveway behind the building, and a spillover lot is available across the street during open hours. The recent remodel really opened up the space, it looks and feels great. If you haven't visited since pre-pandemic times, it's definitely time to go back!

Very enjoyable straight over ice, as a simple drink with club and a lime, and also a delight in any mixed drink. While at the distillery, you can also get in-house made infusions. Some flavors rotate seasonally, along with seasonal cocktails made from the flavors. Offerings include pineapple, apple, blueberry, grape, cucumber mint, strawberry basil, orange peel, pear, cantaloupe, vanilla, jalepeno, etc. New flavors are always being experimented with. Now onto the owner, Rich. You can tell he is passionate and does this with his whole heart. He is a local from Cranford and uses Jersey corn for his vodka, and when possible, uses Jersey fruit for the infusions. The tour is extremely informative; I have yet to come up with a question that he didn't have an answer for. He is quite outgoing with a great sense of humor, which rounds out visiting this distillery in a great way and keeps you coming back for more. For my third point, let's talk about the atmosphere. There is a group of regulars that frequent the distillery, and I am happy to admit I have joined this crowd. They are all amazing people that I may have never had the opportunity to meet had it not been for this gem tucked in the warehouse district of Kenilworth. The ambiance is always positive - music playing, foosball table, trivia, cards - there is something for everyone. Another positive is many restaurants deliver so you never have to go hungry. Finally, the information for you to come and visit soon. Open to the public from 3-7/8pm on Wednesday and Thursday to stop in for a cocktail or so - spectacularly priced at $5 a drink. There are plans to open a third night in the near future. In the mean time, you can call and request a private tour and tasting. Rich is happy to work with you to create your own experience. Great vodka + Great company = Great place to be!
