While the food was good, the experience was completely undermined by the female bartender's lack of attention--or even basic acknowledgment. At first, she was clearly weeded, and when someone is busy, I understand the need to be patient. That wasn't the issue. After the place slowed down, she continued to ignore my wife and I, while seemingly going out of her way to ask people who were not sitting at the bar if they needed drinks--often talking right over the guests who were seated at the bar. I tried repeatedly to make eye contact. I asked to see the menu again since we were ready to order more food. She gave me the menu, but even though the bar was no longer crowded, I still couldn't get her attention for another 15 minutes. I placed the menu clearly in front of me to signal that I was ready, yet she continued serving people all around us. I then tried to break the ice by asking if the kitchen was still open. She replied, "Of course it's open," and walked away. I didn't want to call out "excuse me," because that felt rude. Five minutes later, I'd had enough. I asked for the check and calmly explained exactly what I'm explaining here. She began to apologize, but then a male bartender aggressively dropped the check in front of me, which felt like a clear message to leave.
