Went to Foxboro bar yesterday, the drinks were fine, but the buffalo wings were cold and the blue cheese sauce was watered down. Then we ordered the pretzel balls and again, the food was warm if best. The salad we had was ok but the dressing was watered down. Great place for drinks but not food. read more

We had the sweet Thai chili wings breaded and omg they might have been the best wings ever! So crunchy and large! They gave you plenty of sauce. So yummy! We had clam chowder and it was delicious! Let me start by saying that I'm in the hospitality business, so I'm extremely careful about how I treat others--I know the drill. I'm always respectful, polite, and I wait my turn. Tonight was cold, so comfort food felt like the right choice. While the food was good, the experience was completely undermined by the female bartender's lack of attention--or even basic acknowledgment. At first, she was clearly weeded, and when someone is busy, I understand the need to be patient. That wasn't the issue. After the place slowed down, she continued to ignore my wife and I, while seemingly going out of her way to ask people who were not sitting at the bar if they needed drinks--often talking right over the guests who were seated at the bar. I tried repeatedly to make eye contact. I asked to see the menu again since we were ready to order more food. She gave me the menu, but even though the bar was no longer crowded, I still couldn't get her attention for another 15 minutes. I placed the menu clearly in front of me to signal that I was ready, yet she continued serving people all around us. I then tried to break the ice by asking if the kitchen was still open. She replied, "Of course it's open," and walked away. I didn't want to call out "excuse me," because that felt rude. Five minutes later, I'd had enough. I asked for the check and calmly explained exactly what I'm explaining here. She began to apologize, but then a male bartender aggressively dropped the check in front of me, which felt like a clear message to leave. This was my first visit to Foxboro Sports Bar, which is named after the Massachusetts town. There are TVs everywhere, including at your table, in this sports bar in a strip mall. I drank a cup of New England Clam Chowder and ate a Swiss Mushroom Burger with handmade chips. Everything was fantastic. The food, beer, and service were all excellent. The space at this tavern is quite large and open, with high ceilings and tons (I mean, TONS) of TVs for watching live sports. There's a large bar right in the middle of the restaurant with ample seating and friendly bartenders. And if you prefer a booth table, then there's a TV that you can control right at each table. Very fun and clever. The food is delicious...I had an excellent hamburger with the homemade chips, and my friend loved the potato skins. Portions are large, and they do have really good happy hour specials and nightly food specials. The All You Can Eat Wings for $20 on Mondays is quite the deal! To me, this was a very unique restaurant. Or I should say sports bar there are TVs everywhere, even at some of the tables. They have very unique food like beef stroganoff, and things like that. Went to see a football game and chat with friends. Volume from the "DJ" (apparently the owner) was extremely loud. We politely asked to have it reduced slightly, but the owner said no. After telling the staff that the "owner" didn't want to help us with the volume, they moved us to a more comfortable part of the restaurant that made the volume a bit more manageable to be able to talk to each other. The owner came off very defensive and quite rude. Had he tried to accommodate us without the New York arrogance, rudeness and attitude, this would not have been an issue. Safe to say we won't be back, there are better places and many choices in Naples that have proprietors that actually will try to make the best of things without being rude, obnoxious and arrogant. The food is 5 out of 10 at best. For example- The ranch dressing with the chicken wings - which costs $3.00 was watered down to the point of having absolutely no taste. Foxboro's took over the old Buffalo Wild Wings location. They have been open for about 3 weeks, so they are definitely figuring it out still. They changed the inside up a bit. Much bigger bar, so they are definitely looking for a drink and stay crowd. Lots of TV's as before. As usual, I ordered wings. Tried their hottest, but it wasn't very hot. But that's okay. My friend ordered a burger and fries. First impressions.... it was okay. As you can see from the picture, they went a little skimpy on the fries. I had 10 wings, and the waitress asked if I wanted blue cheese with it. I said yes. Little did I know that I would be charged $1.50 for it. Like I said, food was okay. Lots on the menu, so I'll be back to try some other things. Very convenient to my work. They do have to improve the service though. We saw our waitress at the beginning, right after we got our food (the customary, how is everything - I want to say "I don't know yet, since I just got it"), and then nothing. The good - screens at the table - club sandwich and baked potato - waitress was nice The bad - chips and "salsa". You only get a small handful of half stale chips with zero taste to go with the tasteless salsa. Worst most watery salsa I've had. It is basically diced tomatoes - wife's lobster "roll". All this lends to a good time and the beer seems to just have it's own flow. Every time I walk out I'm shocked that I'm walking out in to 90 degree Naples in the daytime. A guy walks in sits next to me with Bruins jersey on and Bartender "Katelyn" serves him right away and walks away from me. Ok, so if you're a fan of Boston sports, you'll love this place. It definitely is an homage to everything in the New England area that has to do with running, passing, shooting or hitting a ball, even a few Hartford Whalers items sprinkled in. You may want to leave your Dolphins jersey in the car. The bar is well organized, plenty of seating, and a good mix of tables and booths. They provide remotes at the booths to change the channels on the t.v. as well, which is a nice touch. This place is exceptionally clean all around, and the staff takes pride in staying busy, keeping all areas tidy, glasses and bellies full, too. The food menu is extensive to please many tastes, with daily specials to boot. The grub usually comes out quickly, and there's plenty of it to fill you up. They have some of their own "Wicked" beers on tap as well, but the last one I had was a little sour, but at least it was in a clean glass. So, there are so many pluses to this bar, including one of the few places in Naples to provide Buzztime trivia, which is the main reason I come here. They have a lot of players at this location which seems to help the place rank in the top 20 nationally almost every round. Now, if I have one complaint, this would be it. Personally, I've been playing Buzztime since I was a stupid college kid nearly 25 years ago, and I've not been into team playing much during trivia games, which many of the regulars do. They shout out the answers to each other quite a bit, and talk so loudly during the games about the content, it gets to be a little much. This is just me, but I like to prove how smart or stupid I am when I play, and answer questions on my own to see if I was the better player or not. And, when a local boy like me, yet NOT a regular at this bar comes in and contends with taking high scores from the regulars, it feels as intense as a Yankees/Red Sox series. I don't feel welcome when that happens (maybe 1 out of 4 games), which is why I only visit several times a year. But, this is a personal pet peeve of mine - the regulars definitely have their grip on the place for sure. Other than that, if you're looking for a cool place to watch a game, it's a good one. Nice location on the corner, plenty of space, good food, nice t.v.s and clean. I bet it would be a blast watching a few tables of New York fans take up space on a Sunday, though! read more
