We decided on Chicken and Whaaat for a quick lunch on our way up to Voyageurs National Park. This…read moreseemed like a locally owned fast food joint, obliging us to walk in a little after they opened to try out the food. I think we were the first customers inside but somehow we were order number 3 for the day! Ordering can be done either in person or on two convenient kiosks for the less social. Since this is fast food, the chicken isn't fried to order; instead, it's fried in batches, so the food is just assembled and handed out. Our order took only about 2 or 3 minutes to come out. Classic ($8) - As the name implies, this is a pretty classic fried chicken sandwich. First there's a sizable boneless thigh, battered and fried. It's a lighter crisp, more delicate than the typical breading and closer to tempura than traditional fried chicken. The dark meat still has a decent moisture level and the exterior fry tastes like the beef tallow it's fried in. There's crisp ripped iceberg lettuce leaves, some pickles, and a bunch of mayo on a slightly buttery and toasted bun. The bun still remains mostly soft to encapsulate the chicken and prevent anything from falling out. While the chicken itself isn't the most juicy, there's enough fattiness from the mayo to help things out. (4/5) Nashville Hot ($9) - This sandwich is the same format with slightly different ingredients. The fried boneless thigh is identical, but this time it's doused with hot chili oil and then topped with plenty of homemade ranch to help cool things down. The sandwich overall is slightly smoky and is only lightly spicy. I'd consider it on the very mild end of the things, giving only a slight warming of the mouth. There's so much sauce that it drips down the sandwich copiously, leaving a small puddle in the paper tray below. (4/5) I didn't find the fried chicken sandwiches here to be anything special, but neither do they really have any flaws. They're just normal enjoyable, and normal is more than good enough for a meal or two. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms Food: [4/5] Service: [ ] Other: [ ] Final Rating: 4/5

I would come here again. Apparently they just opened a few days ago (and opened a new location)…read moreand haven't acquired (or gotten running) all of their necessary equipment. Their soft serve machine and hot fudge machines were not working. Price was reasonable: under $10 for 3 "small" (1 large scoop) cones including a topping for each. The ice cream was specialty and had AMAZING premium home-made ingredients- I had the "yippee skippy" flavor ice cream: peanut butter ice cream with carmel ripples, brownie bits and some (chocolate?) covered pretzels. SO GOOD. I would go back for that alone. The only thing about my ice cream was that I tasted a few icy crystals throughout my ice cream- which to me means it may have melted and refrozen (or crystallized somehow) so it wasn't perfect. I should have taken a pic if their sign. It said basically "Nutrition Information: Don't even ask! We put tons of WI cream, gobs of tasty homemade ingredients so that our ice cream is SUPER YUMMY! Our ice-cream is NOT low-fat, NOT low-anything so if you want nutritious go eat some carrots!" Amazing looking premium unique flavors, one labeled "This $&!@ is out of control" or something like that! They also have super caffeinated ice cream flavors. It is a roadside ice cream shop (like the traditional Dairy Queen/small town walk up to the window) outdoor ice-cream place, plenty of parking and a few outside tables and chairs. They aren't fully up and running, but I would definitely go back!

The food truck was a HUGE hit and we received so many compliments on how good the food was! The food was so delicious! That being said, I am giving them four stars because we had two communication issues. First, we were told all our guests could have all three sides at the food truck and the day of were told they could only have two. The biggest issue though was the food truck needed someone to serve sides and they did not bring the necessary staff to do so. One of the bartenders went to serve sides and left one bartender with a 15+ person line at the bar. When I asked the bartender to go back to the bar (where I paid for them to be) my mom and then one of the groomsmen had to serve the sides. This was defiantly not ideal. If we had to do it again we would absolutely have gone with the food truck but maybe would have hired bartenders from a separate company.
