I usually do not write reviews and really ... I usually don't but oh my gosh! My husband and I were on a motorcycle trip and we are suckers for Supper Clubs. When we found this place, we decided to try it out. We didn't know that there was a bit of a gravel path to reach the restaurant but I promise ... it's worth it. We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender (I'm sorry but I stupidly forgot her name!) and she was so funny and we bonded immediately being both boy moms. She was beyond knowledgeable of the food and drink menu which is always a huge plus! When we got our food, it was PERFECT. My husband and I are both foodies and I have had countless steaks in my life, but this hands down was THE BEST filet I have ever had. The owner Roumel, who is also the head chef, table touched which is unheard of now a days and we started talking about me being from Cleveland and him being from Chicago and next thing I know we're comparing our 2016 World Series notes. His were obviously better, but it was such a wholesome conversation! His wife Jilaine told us all about the story behind the restaurant and what encouraged them to buy it and the passion behind both of their words were so genuine that you could tell they took pride in their staff, restaurant and food. As a Cleveland baseball fan who got their heart broke by the Cubs, this meal helped a bit to forgive ... maybe not forget but definitely in the right step to forgive! read more

An amazing stop on our girls trip, I had read the reviews prior to going and I am so glad I did as we absolutely were not disappointed! We tried the traditional Filipino dishes as well as the Waygu special for the night and I think all of us left with our hearts and stomachs full. Owner was kind and very friendly as he walked us through the menu and a little bit about his restaurant. The ambiance is gorgeous. Also have to note that the drive up is absolutely stunning as you are surrounded by the river, creeks, waterfalls, and such gorgeous views. This is a must go if you're looking to treat yourself! It certainly pays to go off the beaten path... My parents recently went to a family reunion in Decorah and told me about this meal they had at Twin Springs Supper Club. My mom said that if was totally my vibe and boy was she right. After winding down some gravel roads outside of Decorah we came across this restaurant that looks more like a cabin. It's cozy with limited tables inside and a beautiful patio space with Christmas lights, gorgeous views of the woods surrounding the property, and heaters for when it gets chilly. They had a great cocktail list with seasonal offerings and a food menu that made it difficult to choose what to order. Everything sounded good and we finally decided that we had to go with the surf and turf because I love shrimp, but heard how amazing the steaks are. We had these amazing little eggrolls with a sweet chili sauce and I loved the French onion soup. It's no wonder this restaurant ranked number one in five different categories this year by OpenTable for Iowa. If I could give you a couple of recommendations based off of my experience, it would be to make sure you have a reservation because it fills up and if you enjoy red meat, you have to get a steak. Twin Springs Supper Club is a hidden gem in Iowa! We made a reservation for outdoor dining and our table was ready to go when we arrived and the venue is in a beautiful park like setting. Our server Lea was wonderful and took great care of us. The owner also came out to greet all the tables which was also a very nice touch. We ordered the Lumpia as a starter and it was wonderful! The Ragin Cajun Ribeye and the Prime Rib were also outstanding and came with soup or salad and a side as well! We finished everything off with Creme Brulee for dessert and were not disappointed. I can count on one hand the number of reviews I've written, but our experience was so extraordinary, I had to give Twin Springs Supper Club their flowers. My husband and I just got married this past week and decided to eat here during our mini honeymoon in Decorah, so we booked a last minute reservation. The moment we walked in and sat down, a "Congrats!" card was placed on our table that the entire staff had signed and the owner, Roumel, came to our table to congratulate us himself. He even found their final Wagyu steak in the back and offered it to my husband at a special discount to say congratulations. Our food was fantastic from the Lumpia appetizer to his Wagyu steak to my lobster tail and filet. Moe, our server, took the very best care of us and we couldn't stop smiling throughout the entire dinner. I don't know how I haven't reviewed TSSC before!? It's literally one of my favorite places ever to eat. First off the place is so cute. It feels fancy without feeling stuffy. My husband and I generally reserve going here for special occasions. But that doesn't mean you need a special occasion to go! The food is... well the best way to describe the food is that I sometimes have dreams about it because I want something. My to go to is usually a filet with something like lobster or shrimp. And it's always done to the perfect medium rare. My husband and I always get the steamed asparagus to share with our meal. And of course, you can't forget the French onion soup! Aside from making it myself at my own home, it's the best I've had so far at a restaurant! Great... now I'm hungry... The service is always top notch. The waitress and waitress are so attentive, and last time we were there for our anniversary- we got a signed card from the staff! I took it home to place in my scrapbook. The owner himself too always makes a point to come out periodically and check in personally with everyone. Him and his wife are absolute sweethearts. We happened into decorah around dinner time and on a whim, decided to call and see if we could get in early on a Friday evening. Lucky us, there was some space and the friendliness of the hostess on the phone was a good indicator of what to expect for the rest of our evening. The place is a short drive out of town in an idyllic setting. We sat on the deck outside. The service was fantastic and the owner/chef came and talked with us and several tables while we were there. The restaurant has daily specials, an extensive wine list and very delicious cocktails. There were 5 in our party and every single person was truly delighted with their meal and, sadly, too stuffed for dessert. In a nutshell, clean. Friendly. Delicious. The Saturday special Prime Rib- amazing, only had medium, it was perfect ( disclaimer I like mine rare). The garlic mashed potato, is not overly garlicky, important when you are dining out. Went to visit our daughter for Homecoming weekend at Luther college and she wanted to go for a nice dinner. I made a reservation and we were seated as soon as we walked in at 7:00. A beautiful, quaint, lodge feel with a back patio for extra seating. Nice wine list (although I would have liked to see a Sauvignon Blanc on the menu). We started with a bottle of cabernet for my husband and daughter and a glass of pinot grigio for me. The owner came to the table to present the bottle which gave us a chance to chat. They came from Arlington Hts, IL where he worked in restaurants and was a sommelier. I could tell he was quite proud of his new restaurant in Iowa :) and he should be! All meals, in true supper club fashion, come with choice of potato or vegetable and choice of soup or house/caesar salad. I ordered the New York strip steak with twice baked potato. Served perfectly medium with an herbed butter on top for extra seasoning. The twice baked potato was full of flavor! My husband said that he likes his twice baked a bit more crispy on top, but I thought it was perfect. I chose the french onion soup and it did not disappoint. The owner had run our first course and mentioned that the onion soup takes over 18 hours to make from start to finish as they make their own broth from the beef bones, let it stew with onions and herbs before they finally serve it to you topped with cheese and green onion. I DRANK the last of my bowl! ala carte side of asparagus with bearnaise. Enough for the table to share. Hubby ordered a cajun pork chop which he said was very juicy and even would have enjoyed a bit more spice. House salad was plentiful and fresh. Daughter had a combination salmon and Filet dinner with Baked potato. Caesar salad (homemade croutons of course) was delicious. Filet was a perfect Med Rare and the salmon was pink in center. I started with Lumpia, Roumel's skewered grilled pork sticks for appetizers, french onion soup and bleu cheese wedge salad with beef tenderloin steak as my main dish. Great wine selections too. This restaurant is not deserving of its high rating. My wife and I frequent fine dining establishments. This doesn't measure up on any level. From the minute we walked in, with the deafening sounds and rambunctious kids, we started questioning our plans. The restaurant is very loud and at times almost difficult to carry on a conversation. The drinks are inexpensive. Both my wife and I thought they were lower quality. The specials menu is full of liquid sugar with alcohol drinks. It tells you about the style. Both my wife's and my prime rib and pork entrees tasted like they had been infused with a solution to keep them moist. Unfortunately the flavor was washed away. How does a prime rib taste watery. The prime rib was slathered with some strong herb mixture. It needed to be cut off to eat the meat. The lobster side was actually pretty good. But, why would you put old bay seasoning on lobster? The sides were all bad. The bread tasted like Mrs Rhodes rolls. The twice baked potato was disgusting. The salad was limp iceberg with a horrible dressing. Half of a tiny cup of sour cream and butter were all that was given for the baked potato. My thoughts are that this restaurant is using all the cheats to cut cost and labor. This restaurant has a lot going for it and a menu with interesting choices. The down side is that it is sooooo cold that one must wear their coat while dining to be comfortable and this is true whether in the enclosed patio area or the original inside dining area. Additionally, the noise level is terrible and could be helped greatly by adding curtains or blinds, which would also help with cold in the booths. Again, the food is pretty good, but there's a lot to be considered with the ambiance. read more

We had an excellent Saturday night birthday dinner at Twin Springs Supper Club. Made a reservation few days in advance. The winding drive up during the first snow of the year was magical. We were greeted and seated right away on arrival. The restaurant was bustling with activity. It was a nice mix of cozy and casual in a fine dining atmosphere. The cocktail and wine list is pretty good- the Moscow mule was very refreshing! Our server was friendly and prompt. I had the lumpia and bacon wrapped shirmp apps as my meal, and my husband had the steak and shrimp entree with the Cesar salad and twice baked potato. Everything was tasty. The sauces with the lumpia were flavorful. Even though it was a lot of food, we felt perfectly satiated and not overly full. The portions were perfect. It was so nice to see the owner/chef helping out his staff with serving and checking on patrons. It felt so special to meet him and have a conversation about his and our journey to this restaurant! There was enough room for dessert in the end- the brownie sundae birthday treat was excellent! For anyone who is visiting Decorah, this restaurant is an absolute must. Just moved to Decorah and was looking for a place to celebrate my husband's birthday and this place did not disappoint! The ambiance was fantastic! Close to town but felt like you were in the deep woods. Sat in the outdoor covered patio and at first I was worried about being pestered by flies/gnats/ mosquitoes. Not bothered by a single one! Started the evening with cocktails.. a brandy old fashioned for hubby and a spicy Paloma off their specials menu for me. Both great. For an appetizer we chose the lumpia. It was good.. just too salty for us but can see why it gets great reviews. Next came the French onion soup which is the best French onion soup I have ever had! O.M.G! Delicious! The depth of flavor is amazing without being salty. Great ratio of cheese to soup. Hubby ordered one of the specials... ribeye with mushrooms and a wine reduction sauce. Side of veggies. He devoured it! Well seasoned. Veggies were on point. I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp off of the appetizer menu. Yum! Tender and not over cooked. We each had a burnt orange manhatten to finish off.. also highly recommend. Waitress brought out complimentary brownie sundae for hubs b-day. Nice gesture. Service was spot on. We're visiting our daughter at Upper Iowa University and decided to Google supper clubs to see if there were any in the area. Twin Springs popped up with good reviews so we made a reservation. We arrived 10 mins before our reservation and we're seated right away. The ambiance was great and the place is tucked away a bit but the drive has good scenery. We ordered the Lumpia for our appetizer, it was crispy and yummy. My husband wanted the Sat night special of prime rib, they had just sold out(we had a late reservation in the evening) so he decided on the ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes. I ordered the filet and lobster combo (it was also a special) with a twice baked potato. Our steaks were cooked a perfect medium rare, warm and seasoned nicely. My husband also ordered dessert, he got the brownie Sunday. Everything we ate was delicious and would definitely return when we visit next.
