I had my child's birthday party here 2 years ago and had such a negative experience, that despite liking the play space, I was never able to bring my child back here again. They require that you get a headcount a couple weeks before the party, which is understandable. I had a different number of guests arrive to the party than RSVPed, as can ALWAYS be expected with ANY party. So 30 minutes into the party, the staff/owners came to me and said that I had more guests than expected and I would have to pay extra. I said, so tell me how many people there are and bill me, I'll pay at the end of the party. They would not accept this and berated me in front of my guests and accused me of trying to take advantage of them. To get them off my back, I spent the rest of the party walking around the space trying to help them get an accurate headcount so that they could charge me appropriately. It wasn't until the end of the party that they figured out that they could count the number of shoes in the entryway. I had already spent the entire party either arguing with the owners about whether someone had already been counted or not, and whether the babies were over or under 10 months old and therefore would need to be charged. Then as all the guests are leaving, I am at the cash register the entire time trying to settle this stupid transaction. They did apologize to me about their initial attitude to me, but I guess I have not forgiven them for completely ruining the party for me. Best Playspace we have ever visited. This includes children's museums, corporate chains, small West coast indoor playgrounds. Everything! This place has it right. So much to do and entertain but not too cluttered. Only in town for a week but we will visit multiple times. read more

I like this place on a non-crowded day. On those days there isn't a wait to get in? Less kids running aroind and bumping others, and a place to sit. On the crowded days...I have waited over an hour and half to get in. It can be a mad house. With that said, there are plentt of things to do for younger kids. I probably wouldn't bring my 1 yr old here because of all the toddlers running around and knocking into them. I believe there is an age cut off max. I didn't ask. It is a nice size place where there is a SMALL separate eating area. Bring your own food and drinks. Each time i came there thr vending machine was broken. You can also ask the front desk for menus and have your food delivered there. So glad to have an inside play space nearby in this freezing weather! It's the best for walkers, but crawlers r still welcome. However, it IS expensive! First trial is $27 n $300 membership for 3 mos.... Hmmm... Also, the eating area is NoT clean. Food, wrappers, napkins, etc, r literally everywhere. First thing is first - we love this place! The owners are great, the staff is awesome, the design is pretty much perfect, so thought out and so imaginative! We had son's 4th birthday party there yesterday. True, it's expensive, but all the kids had a blast, and so did the adults (since we brought some mimosas and a tiramisu for them to enjoy whole their little ones played). I read the complaints, and agree that the hoses on the fire truck should be fixed, and that there should not be a two months time limit on the 6 visit packs (or at least, make it last longer), and that it is not the place for you if you have more than 1 child but less than 3 or 4. But hey, it is the best play space I have ever seen. And I saw a LOT! read more

Hosted my daughter's 4th birthday at Twinkle Playspace. The service was five stars. I didn't have to do a thing, the staff was awesome. The venue is so well thought out. The 20 kids we invited had a blast. I kept thinking the whole thing that you get what you pay for and although this place is a little pricey they live up to providing a really good experience for the kids and grown ups alike. Wow! What a beautiful and extremely well designed place! I came here for a birthday party and the place really does make the birthday child feel special. I was WOWed when they opened the doors for the children's eating area with mist and fog. It was so EXTRA and I loved it! It was amazing for me and I'm an adult. I can only imagine how awesome it must've felt for a four year old. Each child got their own pizza pie (small), a water, juice box, goodie bags with balloons to take home, cotton candy, etc. I am looking forward to throwing a birthday party here. My three-year-old and I enjoyed a wonderful winter birthday party at Twinkle Play Space. She ran around with her friends exploring the fire truck, tree house, and kitchen, and I had a chance to meet and catch up with other parents. Coffee was provided and no one minded when I brought a cup into the play space, which for me pretty much made the party. :-) Mid-way through the party, a curtain was opened to a beautifully set table, with food and favors for all the kids. They happily ate and sang happy birthday, then were turned loose in the large main play area again. Bonus: the hostess mama was relaxed and claimed that she didn't have to do anything. Such a great fun place ! My husband and I have taken our two boys there twice so far. There is so much for the kids to do there ! Slides, trampoline, shooters, grocery store, dress up area , fire truck, construction /sand box, the list goes on! The minute we walk my kids get so excited they can't wait to get their sneakers off ! The space is huge and very clean! I only have good things to say about this place ! Just went here today for the afternoon. First time visitors pay $25. Not the worst. I love in Long Island city, and boy do I wish we had something like this in our neighborhood. Overall a great place to take your little ones. So many different things to explore! Water, sand, tree house, slide, disco room, art room, mini grocery store, princess salon, etc... I took a star off for two reasons. 1, no staff supervision. (Which shouldn't matter if #2 was not the case. 2, some parents are not supervising their children. Everything was peachy until older kids(4and up) started rolling in around 3:30. Some of the parents just let their kids free and was having snack at the lounge while their kids trampled over toddlers. (Or sit in the corner with their cell phones) There is an 18month and under area, which would be a nice thought, if there weren't many big kids taking toys from the babies. I looked around for their parents, but they were nowhere to be found. Great place for kids of all ages. I was able to find parking within the block also. read more

Awesome indoor play space for toddlers. Not much to worry about, parents/caregivers can sit back while kids play (for most part). And this is a place that actually fixes things when they break, cleans their equipment & toys, and adds new structures every once in a while. It was great the last few times we've been here, but what a pleasant surprise to see some new additions to the already awesome stuff! You can bring your own food to eat in the tiny cafe area, otherwise there's a ton of local restaurants that are perfect for kids and adults, all within walking distance. A day pass is good all day so you can leave and comeback. It's a little pricey at $35 but I get it, it's in Williamsburg, rent is expensive, there's a staff to pay, and it's always kept nice...you get what you pay for! read more

Came here with my daughters after visiting my sister and nephew from Maryland. Needless to say, they had so much fun! My older one loved "feeding the dragons" with the scarves, playing on the fire truck, jumping on the trampoline, and going down the slide! My little 11 month old loved visiting Cassie the bunny and playing in the tot area and riding down the mini coaster! There's so much to do here! Great for cabin fever with it's cold outside! This place is absolutely phenomenal. A bit pricey but expected for the area. The design is so beautifully thought out. There's a trampoline, slides, a fire truck, a sandbox, a tree house, a beauty salon, and my favorite, a "general store" complete with a checkout counter, grocery cart, fresh produce, etc. And that's not all--I just don't have the words to explain all the awesome details of this playspace. There's a ball canon!!! LOL Clearly, I'm still reeling over our experience here. I would absolutely come back. It was worth every penny. We had a blast. read more

I took my two year old year with my best friend and my self. Didn't really understand the pricing. 25 bucks is far too much for the visit, plus 5 a extra person. We only stood for about a hour because there isn't that much to do. Your child will get bored eventually. The place was clean and my son rlly enjoyed the sand area and the grocery store. Super cute! Just had my 2 boys' birthday party here! Everyone had a blast, the space is adorable and small enough that you won't lose your kids! The decorations were amazing!!! Details, details, details!! The kids left with tons of stuff too! We did the superhero theme so each child had a cape at their chair with a mask and laser light finger thingies! Then they still went home with a goodie bag and balloon!! Not to mention their leftover pizza bc each kid got an individual pie....yea! This is by far the nicest kiddie party I have ever hosted or been to as a guest! The adult food was so good too! My guests are still talking about it...not even kidding! $40 + tax for you and your child is an obnoxious price to pay for play. It's a great space - but Its just offensive to have to pay this much for a child to play. Most children have only a 2 hour window to play before they have to nap or eat. Get more bang for your buck and a much better play area at Joyful Palace in Ridgewood. Would be 5 stars, except they close early several times a month to make even more money on a party, which is pretty annoying when you've paid for a membership. Looked today and they have 3 early closings scheduled for the next 30 days already and I wouldn't be surprised if more showed up in that time period. I've been here a few times and every experience was amazing . However , I was here last week for a birthday party and everything turned out great as usual except for the end of the party when it was time to leave . The party was over at 6:45 and the staff must of been in a hurry because they turned off the lights to the play area while everyone was still getting there belongings . Everyone then started to bombard the small front area to get there jackets and coats . It was definitely overwhelming especially when you have small children and adults trying to rush outside all at the same time . A wonderful beginning turned into a stressful ending. read more

I was going to have my child's birthday party here because I had heard that this would be a fun place for children. But when we went to visit, the people were rude (or ambivalent at best). To top it off, there is an additional charge per adult for ENTERING Twinkle after 30 adult guests. This seems tacky. First, this is not a drop off place. So if a child is invited to the party, he/she would have to be accompanied by a parent/caregiver. Second, as a host, to tell each family that only one adult can come to the party is insensitive. It is such a shame that places that are supposedly children-oriented isn't really family-oriented. We ended up having the birthday party at a gymnastics place in Manhatten and my child, along with her friends and their parents, absolutely raved about it. (The parents were free except for the associated food cost.) There they were very helpful and friendly from booking to post-party. Something I cannot say about Twinkle. read more

this place is visually adorable & designed so creatively that as an independent business you just want to love & support it. although upkeep since its opening has not been consistent as it is definitely showing wear & tear: the forced air dragon feature that shoots scarves is constantly broken (pipes fixed with duct tape), the water play area is dirty as are the dress up clothes & accessories, the fire truck hoses won't both shoot water simultaneously, etc. YET THE ABOVE ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO MY CORE COMPLAINTS: A) price is absolutely absurd for drop-in play (have been arbitrarily charged anywhere from $27-$35, depending on who is working) B) after X amount of visits they essentially force you to get a 6 visit pass for $150 that, get this, EXPIRES IN TWO MONTHS. this is insane, especially if you don't live in the immediate area, and is the primary issue that makes me so dislike twinkle when i want so badly to adore it. of course i used only 3 of my 6 visits within the 2 month period & they were unwilling to make exceptions past the expiration date. my consumer thoughts on this: if you pay $150 for your child to play 6 times, it should not expire UNTIL YR CHILD HAS PLAYED SIX TIMES, because, well, YOU PAID FOR IT. or, at minimum, it should last a year. 2 months before expiring is, at best, completely insulting & at worst, kindof criminal. C) there are two slides at twinkle. the taller of the two is so high, so steep, so slick, so fast and SO MIND-BENDINGLY DANGEROUS it absolutely mystifies that they have yet to make any safety modifications on it. my child is not allowed on it & he knows that, but when i go there i literally watch kids (and adults!) of all sizes destroy themselves on this slide, one directly after the other, often limping away and/or crying. there is only 1 safety mat at the bottom of this slide when there should easily be three to catch the FULLY AIRBORNE slidegoer on his/her descent. despite their epically unfair 2014 era williamsburg caliber pricing practices, i am fairly confident it is going to be a lawsuit surrounding THIS DEATHTRAP OF A PLASTIC SLIDE that puts them out of business. D) lastly, employees seem to totally hate their gigs. i cannot think of even one sunshine-y standout. read more

We just had our daughter's first birthday here last weekend and it was absolutely amazing. We decided to go with their space rental option since we wanted to do an extended menu and had lots of adults coming. This option is affordable and allows you to bring everything in (food, drinks, cake, etc.) while having their staff help with set up and break down. We booked Twinkle in October and it was so pleasant working with them. I had a million questions and Vanessa and Mieka answered every single one so patiently and thoroughly. On the day of, our rental time started from 4:30 pm, but my parents, uncle, husband, sister and I got there early (4 pm) and they began assisting us in set up without a problem. Pamela and two other lovely ladies were there that night. These three ladies were crucial in set up! They provided awesome table cloths that matched our theme exactly. They provided a hot water dispenser so that we could have a hot cocoa bar. They cut table runners, laid out favors, plates, and napkins, provided burners when we discovered we forgot ours, arranged drinks, took out the cake, and so much more. Throughout the entire party they checked in on us to make sure everything was ok, made suggestions about where and when to do things, and politely kept us on schedule. I don't remember the last time we worked with such pleasant, professional staff! The ladies even rinsed our utensils and wrapped them in tin foil at the end of the night. They were under no obligation to do that and yet they did. We are so appreciative of their help. I think the best part about having our party at Twinkle was how much fun all the kids had! We had 16 kids from ages 3 months to 14 years old and they all had a BLAST. My friend said that her girls' jaws dropped the moment they walked in. Another friend said her husband said that it was the best kids party he'd ever been to! The kids were all running around, climbing, pretending to run a grocery store, sitting in the beauty parlor, dressing up like firemen - their parents had to drag them away at the end! In the end, its all about the kids. Twinkle has no competition whatsoever. I researched for months and nothing even came close to this place. They really know what they're doing. For detail-oriented parents who want their kid to have a truly memorable, spectacular first birthday, book Twinkle right away. It costs a bit more than other venues (not by much though) and it is worth every dime. read more

If you have a toddler this place is a must! It is adorable and beautifully designed. Loved the fire truck/ hoses and the treehouse/ slide. I took my son there today and he played non stop for 3 hours. It's reminds me a little of City Treehouse, Frolic and Children's museum of Brooklyn rolled into one place. They also have a convenient little place to sit and have lunch. We were with a few friends and they were equally impressed. I had Jojo's 3rd Birthday party here & it was so dope. The place is pretty big. I think I had more fun then the kids. I took a chance with letting them provide the food because it honestly was cheaper & less hassle. I'm glad I took the chance, the pizza was great (and hot) & cupcakes OMG! Communication with Mika was easy. I literally just had to saw up the day of the party & pay, No lugging decorations & gift bags. It was Awesome! My son and I love this place. My only complaint is lack of accessible drinking water. No water fountains and once in a while a pitcher of tap water shows up upstairs but then you have to pay 50 cents for a cup...what?? I realize that people bring their own supplies, especially for their children but sometimes it runs out and us parents need water too. Get a drinking fountain please. read more
