Mmmm, pie. On my…read morelittle day trip to Chattanooga, I wanted to find a dessert or pastry to take home to share with my husband. It was getting late and I was also tired of walking around the city, so I wanted to find a place that I could drive to easily that would have accessible, free parking, and that was still open -- many bakecafes had already closed. A quick Yelp search revealed this place as a great option! I scooted on over and walked inside. Very friendly staff members, super welcoming. The place was clean and smelled AMAZING! No real seating inside but that's okay. They have a cooling drawer and a room temp drawer depending on the need of the pie. I'd say mostly dessert pies are available but they also have a nice selection of quiches and pot pies. Flavors/varieties rotate depending on the day. They'd sold out of a few varieties when I arrived, but I was still able to get plenty of yumminess. They have a deal for four pies at a reduced cost so that's what I got! All pies are individual though you can preorder larger pies if you need one. Since I had the ~2 hour drive back home, I of course had to opt for non-refrigerated options. I wound up with a lemon blueberry chess pie, a chocolate bourbon pecan pie, a regular pecan pie, and a chocolate chess pie. Seriously, they were all delicious! Somewhat surprisingly, I'd say my favorite was the regular pecan pie. Don't get me wrong, pecan pie is a beloved pie of mine...just thought it would go to something with chocolate. But the amount of sweetness, the ratio of gooey inside to nutty outside...just so good! Each pie had a delightfully buttery, flaky crust. You really can tell the difference -- they're the real deal. Hubs and I split a mini pie each night for four nights and the quality really didn't suffer! I'd say they're the perfect size to split, though I'm sure I also could've devoured a whole one if left unattended, lol. Would love to try more flavors in the future. If you're in the area, give them a visit!

Since it was our first visit and everything on the menu spoke to us, she helped steer us in the right direction. I ended up ordering the pistachio croissant, and honestly... I'd go back for that alone. It was warm, huge by croissant standards, and absolutely heavenly. I even grabbed another one to take home because Future Me deserved a little happiness too. We also tried the raspberry lemon danish, which was a delicious combo, but the pistachio croissant stole the show without breaking a sweat. We started with the poutine, and while it wasn't the traditional version I've had before, it was incredible. Instead of cheese curds blocks, it came with pulled pork and melted cheese, and somehow it just worked. Comfort food with a little Southern flair. For breakfast, we had the ham and cheese omelet with breakfast potatoes. It was exactly what you want it to be--classic, satisfying, and impossible to regret if that's your usual order. I also tried the Liquid Gold juice. Their juice selection is impressive, but I may have accidentally found my forever order on the first try. It was so refreshing, with just a hint of ginger. For a hot drink, I highly recommend the London fog. I'm not usually a tea fan but if you don't want coffee, this is an excellent option. Before we left, we picked up some of their salted caramels to go, and they make the perfect little gift... assuming you have enough self-control not to eat them all in the car. The vibe here is upscale southern diner. One of the signs on the wall said, "All are welcome, but you need to act right," and honestly, that's the kind of life advice we could all use. I also really appreciated that parking was free. In Chattanooga these days it's hard finding a place where you don't have to scan a QR code, download an app, and pay to park just to eat. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Milk & Honey is absolutely worth a visit...and if you're debating the pistachio croissant, stop debating and just order it. Your only regret will be not getting a second one.

We spent some time outside before being seated, but the food and service made it worth it. I stayed in my carrier throughout the meal and was able to join my humans indoors. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and never made us feel out of place. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was lively, and the service was attentive even though the restaurant was busy. Now for the most important part of this review. While enjoying brunch, I witnessed something I never expected to see: a baby goat riding around the restaurant in a pet stroller. At that moment, I realized Chattanooga may be one of the most pet-friendly places I've ever visited. Between the great food, kind staff, and unforgettable people-watching opportunities, Milk & Honey ended up being one of our favorite brunch stops of the trip. Dogba's verdict: Excellent brunch, friendly service, comfortable carrier dining, and unexpected goat encounters. Five paws !

Food City is a chain grocery store in Chattanooga. I like this one a little better than most for a…read morenumber of reasons. First and foremost, even though this is a smaller store square footage wise than most of the other Food Citys, this store manages to pack in all the essentials and that means they carry and will always have the important ones you need. Sales are usually very good and well worth stocking up during these times. However, they decided to make a store-wide change recently, and not geared toward the consumer's best interest. One item in particular, Coke Classic, has always been on sale forever: three (3) 12-pack cartons in cans for from $11 to $14, but it is usually $12. That is a great deal when the normal unit price is $6.58/each. BUT! In the last 2 weeks, the 'sale' has changed to: two (2) 12-pack cartons in cans for $12. So in essence, the sale has completely disappeared across the board at all stores in this area!! I have had to find a sale elsewhere until they change it back because I refuse to accept something parading as a sale but it is not! Please change back to the Coke sale! People are struggling financially in the food arena and this little perk helped families everywhere who enjoy their Coke :) Around the Valentines Day holiday, I went out on a whim and discovered some pretty doughnuts at the bakery. I bought several of them, decorated with sweet, delicious pink and white buttercream icing! They were so yummy! So much better than Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts. I find the other two's doughnuts to be laden with shortening or lard or something heavy, and they're tasteless to boot. Food City's doughnuts are cakey and creamy-frosted pillowy dreams! As if it's all sweets you're thinking that I'm buying, haha that's not true! The produce selections are fresh, clean and everything is always neatly placed in rows which makes it super tidy. In fact, I prefer this location for my veggies because they are always fresher and cleaner than other Food City stores in this area. Something to remember is that in particular, I find that their bagged potatoes and free-range organic eggs are always fresher than the ones I get at their other locations. There is a decent sized bakery with various breads. They even have a rack filled with artisan breads from Bluff View Bakery. There is also an impressive gourmet cheese shop with enough varieties to put together an impressive charcuterie board, and there also is a beautifully stocked floral department with separate stems, pre-made bouquets, pre-arranged bouquets in vases and planters, decorated with bows and seasonal trinkets, plus potting soil and gardening tools to round out the repertoire. This location does not have a bank or a pharmacy attached, but I don't need either when going to this branch. The people who work at this Food City are more friendly than at others plus they seem to have a classier professionalism than at other local stores. The clerks in the service department consistently complete returns without any problems and always do so with smiles on their faces. Also conveniently located in this shopping center is a large liquor store right next door, a full service UPS store, and a newly built free-standing Starbucks. You would do well to make this your store for shopping, and prices are consistently a bit lower than at Publix grocery stores.
