At my appointment on 8/17, I again asked if my brown hair would lift properly. She said yes, based on two things: 1) the test strand, and 2) the fact that my hair was healthy. However, the process was careless from the start. She applied bleach in large sections and then washed it out, leaving my hair an uneven mix of orange and blonde. Missy didn't say a word about the poor result until I pointed it out -- only then did she admit it hadn't lifted well. She called a manager (who I could hear joking on the phone about why people shouldn't color their hair) and was advised to apply ash blonde. The result? A patchy, streaky mess -- some parts dark, others blonde, with no consistency. It was so bad that Missy actually told me I should go to a different salon (Twisted Scissors) after I said I would need to fix it at home. To make matters worse, when she rinsed out the ash color, she didn't comb or style it -- just sat down and let me leave with clumps of bleach still in my hair. I was then charged nearly $100 for product. Thankfully, I did get my money back, but that doesn't make up for the damage done. Bottom line: This salon is unprofessional, and the stylists don't seem to know what they're doing. Save yourself the stress and money -- go somewhere else. Don't be like me and have to spend hundreds to get it fixed.

We talked through my desire to add some highlights to blend my root growout and grays into the brighter ends. I showed her some reference photos and she talked me through some recommendations before she got to work. She was super empathetic and checked with me after lightening to confirm the right toner shade and cut to be sure I was comfortable.
