The small would have been enough for me and frankly when I saw the cups the kids got, that would have been plenty. So next time I will get the kids sized cup. It was a lot of ice cream. Overall it was very good. I did think it was a little too minty for my liking but there were plenty of chocolate chips. Hubs got a banana split. It was really big as well and was very good. Ordered our ice cream after having a great night at dinner. Waited about thirty minutes just to be told that both their vanilla and strawberry ice cream machines were both broken. How does a place take an order and than continue to take orders before and after ours and is not prepared to accommodate a problem, while we were offered a refund, might I add, that would come within thirty days! They also offered us to change all our orders to chocolate and wait an extra half an hour to an hour because of only one machine being used for all orders. The best thing about our experience at twistee treat was seeing the cool cone shaped building from the road and leaving to go to a better establishment, and it is definitely for sure that we will not be returning anytime soon. read more

We come every year we visit Vacation Village, and the crew tonight just didn't have it. They messed up someone's payment and then took forever to straighten it out. All 4 crew members just stood there while it was handled vs taking those customers to the side and still serving the rest of the line to keep things moving. Then after that, the 4 workers closed the window and had a "team chat", about that or something else, while everyone in line stood waiting to order, including cars in the drive-thru, and people who had already ordered were not getting their items made, while the workers discussed whatever they were chatting about. Hence it took forever. Also, the cone we ordered came out wicked sloppy compared to years past. We usually go back several times in our stay, but not this time. One and done for this year. read more

The quality of ice cream is decent, but not the high fat content offered by more high end restaurants. The shake was moderately thick. However there was not much in the way of flavor. There was a mild taste of chocolate and virtually no sense of peanut butter. Overall, it was a disappointing experience for me. Prices are reasonable given the area. I've driven by these cute cone-shaped ice cream shops many times but tonight I finally stopped in and tried one and I'm so happy I did! They have a really great menu with lots of different ice cream treats and a huge array of topping choices including some premium toppings such as brownie pieces (which were actual fresh brownie pieces!) and cookie dough. This Twistee Treat is an easy find off of West Irlo Bronson Hwy, just look for the giant ice cream shaped eatery, with plenty of parking. My husband, our little girl dog and I came by this location last night for some ice cream a little before 8 pm. There was no line for the order window but two parties were waiting at the pick up window for their order. After browsing the menu board, we ended up getting: Medium Strawberry & Vanilla Ice Cream In Fancy Cone, $2.79 + $0.40 prior to tax- Shortly after an employee gave me my order, my ice cream (which is a sorry serve) started to melt. I do want to mention that it was over 80*F so I sure that helped to also melt faster. Sadly this ice cream just dripped all over my hand and the floor. But I did like the flavor of the strawberry and vanilla. I also liked the fancy cone that I picked, sprinkles (you cam pick from three fancy cones but if you are trading, there is also a sugar, cake or waffle cone as well) Medium Vanilla Ice Cream In Sugar Cone, $2.79 prior to tax- Just like my ice cream order, my husband also had his ice cream melt on his hand. But he liked his ice cream. -------------------------------- (Total= $6.43 after tax) A customer waiting for her order at the pick up window told us that dogs get ice cream for free. So we asked for a pup cup when we ordered. The employee who gave us a cup of vanilla ice cream thought out little girl was just too cute (and yes her ice cream, that was in a small plastic container, also melted rather quickly and made for a mess on the table we sat on). Prices are pretty cheap and there are actually a great selection of choices one can order here, including coffee and even hot dogs (if you are feeling hungry). Only outdoor seating is available. A few tables have umbrellas but may not completely shade you from the harsh sun rays. There is limited seating here in general. Also there is a drive thru and also one small unisex restroom (thank goodness, so that we were able to wash our sticky hands after eating our ice cream). I think next time I come here, I will most likely order a sundae or twirl since those come in a cup. This way, if the soft serve melts, it will just stay in the cup and not melt all over my hands. Twistee Treat is definitely a great place for some frozen desserts, especially in this heat that Orlando is currently experiencing. read more
