One day only special, cream cheese stuffed cinnamon sugar pretzel $9.25 SO GOOD
    Tiffany T.

WOW!! BEST PRETZELS EVER, and made to order each time too! This spot deserves more hype! Additional $0.75 with card payment so bring cash. I got their cream cheese stuffed cinnamon sugar pretzel for $9.25, it was a one day only special, announced on @jaypeekneadsdough tiktok. THIS PRETZEL WAS AMAZING, had a nice crispy bottom and was soft, fluffy and chewy! The cinnamon sugar had the perfect ratio of cinnamon to sugar which I really appreciated, not too sweet! The savory, warm cream cheese inside combined with the doughy, sugary exterior was so delicious and delectable, I can't wait until he announces another one day special! All pretzels come out PIPING hot, like you could burn yourself if you eat it right away so let it cool for 10-15 minutes before you start eating. Their normal pretzels range anywhere between $5-$8 each, and these pretzels are HUGE! The owner's tiktok videos are so satisfying to watch that when you eat their pretzels they taste even better because you know how much love and care really went into making these awesome pretzels. Definitely coming back to try their almond pretzel next! They also have another location at the Lathrop food plaza.

Came here and the wait time was about 25 minutes. I got the cheese dog with bacon and it was $9.79. I was charged an extra $0.75 for using a credit card which I wish they stated somewhere as this was a hidden fee not mentioned anywhere on the menu. The hot dog came out fresh and was yummy! It was a bit greasy due to all the oil but the dough was delicious and I liked how they didn't skimp on the bacon. I'm glad I got to try it but not sure if I would get this again as $10 is a lot for a hot dog in my opinion that's in Central Valley!

This place is amazing!! Started with the kindest man running the place. Super friendly. The food!! Wow... we travelled from Copperopolis to check this place out after my son found it on TikTok live. :) We tried the plain pretzel, cinnamon sugar pretzel and pizza pretzel. All soooooo good. Recommend the caramel sauce and cream cheese.... So good. We also had the hot dog bites and I had the jalapeño hot dog. Will not disappoint! We WILL be back to support this sweet family owned spot. Thank you for the great food and 5 star service.

These are literally THE BEST pretzels I have ever had! They are so soft and have a little bit of a crunch on the outside, delicious! They are made fresh to order and their prices are really great! I will definitely be coming back.

Wow! So impressed!! Seen tik tok and knew I had to try it, I'm so glad I did! I'm hooked now! The staff was so pleasant and incredibly nice! The food??? Omg so incredibly delicious, hot & fresh and homemade! The lemonade is so refreshing (and I'm not usually a lemonade fan). We will absolutely be back!!

Oh my god!!! My husband and daughter stopped by after seeing so many good reviews. This place deserves every 5 star they have, no joke. Everything is so fresh, and the kind owners even gave us a free sweet one to try and I couldn't even wait till we tried it and wow I think I'm a pretzel lover. Thank you guys so much

I've been passing by The Grub Hub on 9th for years, never stopping for pretzels because soft pretzels aren't usually my thing. However this resturant kept popping up on social media ans came by to try. After trying them, I was totally blown away! The pepperoni and jalapeño pretzel was amazing, and then I came back and tried the almond pretzel with caramel sauce--it was incredible. I literally devoured both. So delicious! I highly recommend this place to everyone.

another lathrop food plaza try!! i feel like 6.5 seems like a bad rating, but the food wasn't bad it was just fine. it was amazing, but wasn't awful. it was just meh. it smelled so good especially the cheesy dog, but really had very little flavor. the pretzels were cooked perfectly. slightly harder (but not hard) on the outside and a soft inside. the mini dogs had genuinely like almost no flavor somehow but i'd still sit there and eat 40 if they were in front of me. the mini dogs fall out of every single one so be ready to catch it. the cheesy dog also somehow had no flavor despite the melty crispy cheese. the regular classic pretzel was my favorite and the nacho cheese dip made it better but once again the pretzel itself didn't taste like anything. the cheese is definitely one from a can from the grocery store. not the worst not the best.

The one I'm holding is the Almond* Pretzel, and in the back ground is the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Pretzel (I bought it in Feb 2024)

But if you're like me, and just hella sensitive to spicy foods, you gotta exercise caution with this one. My partner and I got food to go, two loaded burritos (one pakora fish, the other chicken masala), a Naan Chalupa with paneer masala, and a chai horchata! It did take about 30 minutes for it all to come together; but I urge you to remember that 'food truck' means 'mobile' and not 'fast food.' Good things come to those who wait! The Chai Horchata is SO GOOD! Like drinking a gingerbread cookie made especially for you by your grandma. I would go back for that alone. In fact, I regret not getting two because I'd definitely have delighted in not having to share. Swing by for that alone. Now the food? My partner ordered everything mild; which has got to be a relative thing because both burritos and the chalupa had such heat that I couldn't take more than a few bites of any of them before my mouth felt like it was on fire! I wish that I had any sort of tolerance because everything was so flavorful; incredibly flavorful! Just too dang hot for my wimpy tastebuds! The loaded chicken burrito was the messier of the two--downright greasy so be prepared! Ask for extra napkins or have some on standby if you take it to go. I'm coming back for you, Sizlin' Masala! The portions are serious, the chicken is juicy, and the breading has a great crunch. What really sets them apart for me is the spice. I've had levels 3, 4, and 5, and they're not simply the same seasoning with progressively more heat. Each level actually has a different pepper profile and flavor. Level 3 brings cayenne and Thai chili, level 4 moves into Thai chili and habanero, and level 5 adds habanero and ghost pepper. You can taste the difference, not just feel more burn. The seasoned fries are great too and they definitely don't skimp on the portions. It is a little pricey for a chicken sandwich and fries, but when you see the size and quality of what you're getting, I think it's worth it. Scratch is easily one of my favorite hot chicken spots.

It is located off a newly renovated street where new high rise development were put in to increase dwelling density and foot traffic. It is not quite there yet, but I can see where this is going. It is held in this square near a business park so there is plenty of parking. There is a grassy square where families like to lounge with picnic blankets and lawn chairs. There's usually a dj dishing out tunes, a beer and wine tent, and about 8-10 food trucks lined up in an organized fashion. It goes every Friday in the warm months so from May to October. If a holiday pops up on a Friday like 4th of July they will skip it. Starts at 5pm and goes to about 9pm. Bulk of the crowd goes from 6:30 - 8. I go to about 2-4 per year since 2017, with the exception of 2020 cuz y'all know why. You can see the food truck line up each week on their website or socials. So I like to scan that and if it looks promising then I'll text some friends/family if anyone wants to meet up after work on Friday. If the weather is nice, it is just a just a festive and social way to start a summer's weekend. Now even tho I like these events I don't always like food truck food. Sure it is trendy and you do get to sample and /or get stuff brought to you in one area. But I often just find many of the food to be just average at best at prices that rival sit down dining. So to me I like scoping these out occasionally but I don't think they are worth going to on a frequent basis. I also feel that there aren't enough places to sit and eat once you get your food from a truck. There is a small area where they put out portable picnic benches, but those fill up with just 20 people or so. Otherwise you have to sit on the lawn and come prepared with blanket or lawn chair, or find a concrete planter box to sit on, or go back to your car to eat. Another reason why food trucks events often leave me hanging. But bring a warm typical Bay Area summer's evening where it doesn't get dark til almost 9pm and you want to be amongst your community and commerce, this event will do you more than fine.

There was even some line dancing going on in the makeshift stage area at some point. Sound was not the greatest, the volume quite low even for a small event, but it was fine. There were about 8 food trucks to choose from, along with a few random vendor/service tents (like Bass Pro Shops). Decided on sliders and garlic fries from the Curveball food truck. The food was okay, good enough to satisfy my hunger (see my separate review on that). I snagged one of the few spots in the grass with shade on this hot evening, though they also have tables and seating here, partially shaded too. An actual restroom (not porta potties) on site, in the Fremont downtown event center building. Also, plenty of space available in the parking lot. This is a pretty low-key community event, free to attend and grab a bite to eat, and just hang out for an hour or two.

I finally decided to give it a try after hearing about the restaurant from food reviewer Dave fiore text. As someone who absolutely loves tacos and is always on the hunt for great local taco spots, I was excited to see how this place compared to some of my favorites. I ordered four different tacos, and overall, they were pretty good. They weren't bad by any means, but they also didn't quite blow me away. The meat was cooked well, the tortillas were fresh, and the tacos had good flavor. The salsa was decent too, although I personally prefer something with a little more kick. Everyone has different tastes, so this is just my opinion. One thing I really appreciated was how clean and organized the restaurant was. You can tell they take pride in keeping the dining area nice and welcoming. The staff was friendly, and my food came out quickly. It's always a good sign when a restaurant pays attention to both cleanliness and customer service. I've eaten at a lot of taco places throughout the Bay Area, so I naturally compare every new place to some of my favorites. While El Halal Mexican Restaurant didn't make the top of my list, I still had a good experience and I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. Not every restaurant has to be your favorite to be worth visiting. I also like supporting family-owned businesses because I know how much hard work goes into running a local restaurant. They deserve credit for creating a clean, welcoming place and serving quality food. Will I come back? Maybe. If I do, I'd probably try something different on the menu instead of the tacos. Sometimes a restaurant's best dish isn't the first thing you order, and I'd be interested in seeing what else they have to offer. Overall, I'd give El Halal Mexican Restaurant a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It was a good experience, I'm happy I finally got to try it, and if you're in the Willow Glen area, it's worth stopping by and deciding for yourself.

What keeps us coming back is how consistent it feels in the best way. It is easy, flexible, and always a good time whether you stay for an hour or lose an entire afternoon there. It is the kind of spot that turns into a routine before you even realize it, and honestly, we are not mad about it.

Spark Social is a great place to host an event. Big ones (company-sponsored), small ones (a group…read moreof friends huddling at a table), really any of them, because they have a couple different set ups that are open for reservations, but they can also accommodate walk-ins with the abundance of seating. Beyond that, the food and drinks are all food truck based. They are all quite good, and there's a wide variety of items. This also means a good variety for folks with different dietary needs, because they are mostly picking their own food. I have always enjoyed my time here, whether it's on company dime or if I'm just hanging out with friends. I do wish that there are more heaters around for the colder days but that's just life in the bay! It can be kind of cold and foggy all seasons here, so if you have a solid group of folks I'd recommend reserving a spot with a fire pit. One more note: parking can be tough. You either have to circle around for street parking, or rideshare here.
