SPARK Social SF is one of those places we end up at again and again, usually without overplanning it. It just works. Open air, a mix of food trucks, people hanging out, dogs everywhere, and that easy San Francisco energy where you can show up however you are and it fits. It never feels like a production, just a good place to land. We have eaten our way through a decent chunk of the trucks at this point, and that is half the fun. One day it is something messy and indulgent, the next it is lighter, but it always hits. Grabbing a drink, finding a spot at the picnic tables, and slowly settling in as the place fills up is kind of the rhythm. It is social without being overwhelming, lively without being chaotic. What keeps us coming back is how consistent it feels in the best way. It is easy, flexible, and always a good time whether you stay for an hour or lose an entire afternoon there. Spark Social is a great place to host an event. Big ones (company-sponsored), small ones (a group of friends huddling at a table), really any of them, because they have a couple different set ups that are open for reservations, but they can also accommodate walk-ins with the abundance of seating. Beyond that, the food and drinks are all food truck based. They are all quite good, and there's a wide variety of items. This also means a good variety for folks with different dietary needs, because they are mostly picking their own food. I have always enjoyed my time here, whether it's on company dime or if I'm just hanging out with friends. I do wish that there are more heaters around for the colder days but that's just life in the bay! It can be kind of cold and foggy all seasons here, so if you have a solid group of folks I'd recommend reserving a spot with a fire pit. One more note: parking can be tough. You either have to circle around for street parking, or rideshare here. read more

We came for my friend's birthday. She rented a cabana for two hours. This is actually the second time she's done her birthday here, so you could say she's a fan of the location. But man oh man... it was a rainy day, and I really think they should consider space heaters or better insulation. Maybe plastic attachable covers around the cabanas for rainy days? Because we froze our asses off. I wore my rain jacket the entire time. She even had to pull out the scarf I gifted her for her birthday just to stay warm. They need a stronger rainy-day protocol. It's hard to spark social conversation when you're mostly focused on not turning into an ice cube. That said, we do love the flexibility of having multiple food trucks to choose from. It's truly a unique space, or families, groups of friends, and couples looking for something to do and a place to spend time together, which explains why it draws so many visitors. What wasn't great was how hard it was to find staff or clear instructions. Halfway through our reservation, she wanted to ask about extending our time, but there was no obvious person to talk to. There really should be a straightforward information booth, especially since Spark Social has two areas separated by a stoplight and crosswalk. Also when I first arrived, trying to locate her cabana, I wandered straight into a themed brunch event they were hosting. I asked some food truck staff, who were kind but understandably didn't know the answer. It turns out some reservations had been moved across the street near the mini golf because the event was loud and busy. I just wish there had been clearer guidance or signage to help us find our group. I recommend spark social to put up larger and eye catching signage & direction posts, kinda like what Disney would do. read more

I actually thought it was going to be an indoor food hall, but it's an outdoor gathering space with a great selection of food trucks, plenty of seating, and a fun atmosphere. I did notice more of a presence of corporate socials on this most recent visit but it did not take away from the light and lively atmosphere. Such a fun space for families and Giants fans! There's real people available in a front office to assist with any questions. Reserving an area was an easy, online process. Our fire pit came with a s'mores kit. Pretty clean overall. The double decker bus is the equivalent to a kid's treehouse. The selection of food trucks changes, but the variety is great for groups. Koja kitchen, shrimp rolls and boba, gyros, Mitchell's ice cream, etc. It's a popular event venue as well, so there may be areas sectioned off. Street parking is hit or miss but I love walking anyway, especially because there's a blue bottle and playground nearby. Highly recommend checking it out if weather permits! read more

I live near Spark Social, and I feel like I come to this area at least one time every 2 months. Also, whenever I have guests coming to visit I make sure to show them what Spark Social has to offer! It's a great spot for bringing people of varying food interests. I try to order from different food trucks each time, which also is a testament to how much variety Spark has. It's also good for all ages, there's a wide area of picnic tables (first come first serve) but they also provide reservations in specific spots for parties that want to secure a location. I love Koja Kitchen, they use to have one at Westfield mall in the downtown area. They have closed down a lot of restaurants so I was happy to see the truck. You order on a kiosk and pay with a credit card. I loved it. I got the short rib Koja. They are a little pricey but worth the money. They have a lot of different options but I chose the classic one. It's been a while since I first reviewed Spark Social, but I wanted to give a shout-out on this being one of the best places to host a party! I've reserved several of the spaces, most recently Corner Cove, and they make it SO easy. Corner Cove easily fit 50 people, and everyone has the opportunity to get their own food/drinks from the food trucks. It's affordable if you split with a few people. They even had a DJ playing on a Saturday afternoon, and it's great for kids and pets. I've also reserved one of the spots with the swinging chairs and large firepit, and it was perfect for our group of 30. read more

The slaw and sauce on top really brought it all together, and it came with rice and beans on the side. I couldn't resist pairing it with an Inca Kola, which hit the spot. I'll just be commenting on the happy hour for this review. I think it's so refreshing to have affordable options near Chase Center given a lot of the places at Chase cost a pretty penny. Mostly you'll find a lot of upscale joints minus Senor Sisig and Baked Bear. This is especially if you're planning to see a Giants game. Walking distance from the stadium is Spark Social which is a variety of food trucks boasting different cuisine-- Asian, Mexican, burgers, pizza, etc. But what my friend and I loved was the happy hour M-F 4-7p. Spark Social in SF, is an open venue hotspot located near the Chase Arena, that focuses on a variety of popular food trucks and open seating. I came here on a Saturday afternoon to grab some food and spend time with some friends. Something to keep in mind is the parking. It's bad and can get very expensive. There is street parking but the meters are not free until after 10pm on weekdays. Now, to discuss my experience. My group tried to rent the famous double decker bus but unfortunately, it was closed due to maintenance. However, we did manage to snag a covered tent right in the middle of all the action. We ordered: the Birria Nachos and Ramen from Domingos International Food Truck. It was so incredibly flavorful, extremely tender, and so ridiculously good. We also went to the: BAO n' Boba, where we enjoyed their delicious pork belly buns, the Shanghai, pork dumplings, and of course, the pork Siu Mai. This truck felt as authentic as you can get without sitting in a restaurant. We had a few more trucks but we were getting pretty full, quickly. After a day of beer drinking and tons of laughs. We made the experience even cooler at the fire pit. So, as the day turns to evening. We request a s'mores kit from the staff. It put a delightful cap on the already fun day. It's incredibly nostalgic when you can hang with friends and roast marshmallows. It even better while sharing laughs and stories with each other. Overall, Spark Social is already fun on its own, with plenty of space and seating for you and friends. Visited on a weekday evening and it was not too crowded. Plenty of food and drink options available with plenty of seating around. I can see how it can get very crowded on the weekends as there isnt THAT much seating, especially if there are private parties reserving areas. All food trucks were slightly on the pricier side but its to be expected at this sort of place. The food we purchased was good quality. We also didn't realize that it continued on the other side of the street (if youre heading towards Chase Center) which was much emptier. Happy Hour is Mon-Fri 4:00pm - 7:00pm and Saturday 8:00pm - Close. Cocktails were fairly cheap at about $7-8 each. All parking was metered at an exorbitant rate per hour. Loved that there were booths set up with dog stuff. Hopefully there are more events in the future. Spark Social is a top spot for group hangouts, a day in the sun, or a study spot in the midst of Mission Bay. I have been going to Spark Social for over a year and it has never missed the mark. Always a good time and something for everyone. Occasionally the trucks change, but one of my favorites is the Poke spot! Fresh fish, fun toppings and a reasonable price for the portions. Huge outdoor food court surrounded with over a dozen food trucks and pretty much any cuisine you could think of (mostly junky food though). It's incredibly popular as a hangout spot for folks watching games at the nearby soccer fields or for company gatherings (where you're often given tickets for food instead of using credit). Be warned that although there's plentiful, gently lit seating both outside and in tented areas, it can get very cold and dark at night. Also, parking is awful in mission bay, so just take whatever you can if driving. read more

Spark Social is easily one of my favorite casual hangout spots in the city. The vibe is always fun and lively, with events happening all the time, whether it's family-friendly, dog-friendly, or just random games popping off, there's always something going on here. I brought my dog to here for Ube Fest over the weekend - he got to meet other dogs, there was a DJ so we danced to great music and one of the food trucks even gave my dog free ice cream because it was so hot out! I really enjoy the variety of food trucks. My personal favorite is the Vietnamese truck, but I still need to make my way through the rest. The bao place that serves ube latte ice cream is incredible!! This is my go-to spot when I want to chill with friends before a game, especially on nice-weather days. Came here for a buddy's birthday bash at Spark Social SF in Mission Bay, and it was the perfect low-key-but-fun spot for a group hang - way better than stressing over a restaurant reservation! We reserved one of the cozy covered spots (like the Porch or a cabana - pro tip: book ahead with code SPARK20 for deals, especially if weather's iffy), and it made everything easy for our crew of 20, even more if you count all of our dogs running around with the kids. Rotating food trucks everywhere meant everyone could grab whatever they wanted - tacos, ramen, poke, burgers, even ice cream from Mitchell's - no one left hungry, and it felt like a legit food adventure. Added bonus: hit up Stagecoach Greens mini-golf right next door for some silly competition before chilling by the fire pits with beers and sangria from the bar. Super fun and cute date night idea! My boyfriend and I came here before heading to Chase Center for a Warriors Game (it was only a 10ish minute walk away so super closeby). There were a number of food trucks, photo booths and games to engage in at Spark Social SF! There were also a number of places you can reserve to sit down for a larger number group (ie. Double Decker Bus, fire pits, alcoves etc)! We ordered from Wicked Star (Vietnamese American Fusion) and Bun Love (gourmet burgers)! At Wicked Star, we kept it light and got the Thai Chicken Salad and the Vietnamese Sticky Wings. At Bun Love, we ordered the Shorty beef slider. Everything tasted delish and we had no complaints! I like that there was a good amount of chicken and avocado in the salad, and the chicken was full of flavor and we enjoyed the Fish Sauce as the dressing. The sticky wings were also very good - I can't really do spicy and they were very accommodating, making my half of the wings non-spicy :') The slider was yummy and not too greasy which we enjoyed! There are two sections for Spark Social SF with one side across the street which included more food trucks and games (ie. Mini golf, hacky sack, etc). Super kid friendly too! I love finding family friendly things to do, so Spark Social was an obvious win for me. We were looking for somewhere our group could have alcoholic beverages, good food, with ample space for the kids to run, and Spark Social (along with its neighboring Parklabs Space) was the perfect option for us! Parking is super easy to find, and after taking one stroll through the vendor booths, you can map out exactly what you want to eat and order from the same QR code posted all around the park (some places weren't on there when we checked, though). LOVED the reservable group party areas. The entire streetfood park feels like a music festival with its tents and campy/outdoorsy vibe.
