They're not consistent. That's the real issue why they got a 3 and not a 5. Idk if it's workers vs owners working the truck when they utterly fail. When they are on point they're the absolute best in the area. The last 2 times though they have been mostly empty inside and more dough than filling. This is what ultimately made it worthless to drive out to their truck to get them. Before that a couple times before they were being served burnt. Not charred and slightly overcooked but burnt that you didn't see bc they were clever enough to place at the bottom of the order and underneath so you didn't see until you got home. Now I have eaten at the place they're at too and it's again hit or miss. If you're in the area and want to give them a try do so. Judge for yourself. I would rate them higher if they were consistent. When at the farmers market they were always consistently great. I will say though that their curtido is absolutely always delicious and I don't mind paying extra for it. I stumbled upon them at the local farmers market, here in Modesto. It looked intriguing, so I gave it a shot.   The jalapeno and queso jumped out at me immediately, so I went with that. I also ordered the polo and queso. Both were delicious. If I had to choose one, I would go with the jalapeno. That being said, I found the perfect bite to be a little of both :)  Like the cashier's shirt says, "Good Things Take Time", they do here. Im mostly rating them based off the farmers market stand in downtown Modesto. I would recommend the chicken and cheese and spinach.

The pupusas are always made fresh to order and they always have a line so expect a little bit of a wait. That's never been an issue for us, considering the quality and the flavor of their pupusas and condiments. The service is always friendly and the price is very fair. Found them at the Grub Hubs location. The food was delicious! I got a chorizo/cheese papusa and a bean/cheese papusa. They came out piping hot and came with a side of pickled veggies and red salsa. The only downside of the service was the very long wait time for my food once I ordered. To their defense there were several large orders in front of mine. Most places go with a healthier thinner pupusas. You can't do that, you have to keep it true to its root like this place. So much flavor , and don't cheap out . I made a pilgrimage to this ever so talked about place to give it a try. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!! Meat to masa ratio was great. Curtido was delicious. They also include a special salsa with the Pupusa. I bought a sampling to try the bean/cheese pupusa, Steak Pupusa, chicken Pupusa... all delicious. If I would rate one higher than the other I think the Chicken was my favorite. The steak was very well done but with the curtido it helped. I could eat the curtido by the spoonfuls! Dont get me wrong, the pupusas here are amazing!! But all the bad reviews regarding customer service are sadly, true. I called ahead to find out prices and I was not impressed by the way the lady answered the phone. Then when I placed my order it was the same thing. Perhaps she was not having it, idk but anyways. Later when I went to pick up my order , she seemed irritated although no one was there. Perhaps cause I asked for extra curtido. 4/13/21 I learn about the food truck in Modesto through my sister in-law; anyhow came and gave it a try! I saw the Pupusa truck, and I already knew what I wanted to try ( cheese rice pupusa, pupusa revuelta, cheese pupusa and empanadas) despite the long line. Unfortunately I was only able to get half of what I wanted... 1) because they were not making rice pupusas :( 2) they had ran out of empanadas (which I wanted really bad to have for breakfast the next day with a cup of coffee) 3) I was only able to order 1 cheese and 1 revuelta and as o got my total, I was made aware that they had ran out of curtido :( Actually then this makes me feel I only got a quarter of the order I had in mind lol At that moment I really was thinking... my meal will not be the same without the curtido, I decided to still order since I already had waited 10 min in line. It took about 15 min to get my order, but I can say that the pupusas were tasty and large size (which is good!) without the curtido and only salga, it didn't feel satisfying (curtido and salsa is a must have with your pupusas) So for now 2 stars because I was only able to get a quarter of what I really wanted to get and because curtido is a must have and they ran out. When I buy pupusas I buy for various coworkers so I place big orders $60.00+ so why do they give me three salsas for a bunch of orders. I ate my pupusas semi dry today and it's the last time I get food for coworkers at this place. They be acting why too greedy with the curtido (slaw) and the damn salsa. From now on I am gonna just order my food at the Mexican taco truck that's in front of them... The orange one. They hooked it up when I got birriah tacos.. I used the damn consome on my dry pupusas.
