My second visit here. This time I had to write a review The Food: I had the pub burger and it was fantastic. The bun was so soft and lightly toasted on the grill. the burger was cooked perfectly, juicy with a great crust on it and it was seasoned perfectly. All around great burger. If I had to add one slight criticism it would be that the bacon, while tasty, just didn't have the pop the rest of the ingredients had. I don't feel like the bacon was loved when it was cooked. I also had the onion rings which were battered which i prefer over breadcrumbs. The Beer: This place has a nice selection of your normal not expensive go to beers and some good local and non local crafts. I've been twice and found craft beers on the menu that I had not had before both times. (believe me that is impressive) Great place for a burger and a beer. (sorry I forgot photos) read more

Randomly took my 4 day old son here for a bite after stopping at the uppa hub. By far the best double cheeseburger I can remember. Beef was cooked perfectly medium and had epic flavor. Was looking for a delicious burger somewhere in Brooklyn for the days Im too lazy to drive into the city or Astoria Queens, glad I found this spot. Make the trip from sheepshead bay and its worth it. All the bartenders are cool, most the time Scott takes care of me. I really like the cigar city IPA, greek fries are delicious and the burgers are cooked to my medium preference, prices are very reasonable for this part of town. Not too many sport fans but they have 2 tv's playing games at the bar. I see some people saying the burger was average for a ten dollar burger, they were expecting something special. Several years and visits after a Yelp Elite Event here, two8two is basically the same. The bar is ok. The burgers unique and tasty. We stopped by recently during happy hour. Although the bar doesn't offer a variety of happy hour cocktails, the Cuzco Fizz with Pisco, St Germaine elderflower, lime juice and sour cherries was refreshing! The host was cool and said we could sit at the bar or a table. He didn't mind that we ended up doing both as after drinks we decided five of us eating at a table would be nicer for convo. The burgers weren't the biggest in the world, but big enough. My regular two8two Burger had cheddar cheese, secret two8two sauce, and awesome roasted poblano chiles which really made the burger stand out. Plus I added bacon. Greasy and soggy bottom but how could it not be? Yum! Too bad I didn't get tomatoes and lettuce. I just assumed they came with the burger, but the waiter never asked if I wanted them. So mention when ordering. We had different fries orders to share and the Greek fries with feta cheese and oregano went first. So delicious! Two 8 Two Burger and a cocktail to end the evening after a night out bar hopping. Oh yeah. First time back here in quite a while. Burgers still taste good and they have a terrific selection to choose from on the menu. The Two 8 Two Burger is a hamburger with roasted poblano chiles, cheddar cheese and two 8 two sauce. Cooked just right and the chilis gave it a nice kick. Love the sauce. Solid craft beer selection, not super large, but enough here to satisfy the palate. The place was empty the night we wandered in and sat at the bar. Nice friendly bartender took care of us. I was in a cocktail mood and they also feature a nice little cocktail list. I had the Presidente - rum, solerno, dolin dry vermouth, pineapple juice and grenadine. At $10 it's a decent price for a well made drink, yet I was a bit underwhelmed by this one. Maybe it was a bit too sweet for me and tasted like juice. I also thought the burgers were a tad pricey for the size that they are. Plus, there is an extra charge for fries. Been here a few times but this was the 1st time I had a Turkey Burger. Now two 8 two has never disappointed me and this time was no exception. Definitely one of the best turkey burgers I've had in my time, kinda made me feel like I was eating healthy with all the greens and such you can see in the burger. Also there is something about a burger that's much bigger then their bread that makes me extremely happy. With a bar in the front, a cozy dining area in the back, and a solid burger menu to boot, Two 8 Two was an easy dinner choice for my girlfriend and I last night. It was a little awkward when three of my students and their families showed up at the neighboring tables at the same time our cocktails arrived, but a few sips in, I managed to forget about them. She ordered the Cuzco Fizz, which was strong and tart enough to cause our lips to pucker after every sip. My own drink, the Across Smith Street, was just as strong but sweetened with the help of a splash of pineapple juice. Not long after, our burgers were ready. She'd gone with the two8two burger figuring "anytime a restaurant puts its own name into an entree, it must be good". Though a little small for my taste, it was a decked out burger with roasted chiles, cheese, and a dribble of their signature sauce. My own choice, the veggie burger, arrived with an unusual presentation. Apparently, the patty was too big for the bun so they cut it up into slices and stacked them on top of each other which made for a pretty tall burger once the tomatoes and lettuce were added. I was already mentally drafting notes about the erratic presentation but it was all squelched by the first bite. This was a damn fine burger. The patty had been nicely seared on the grill so there was a delightful crunch with each bite, and I have no idea what they put into that signature two8two sauce but it was tasty and reminded me of the sauce slathered in Big Macs...in the best way possible. Along with their thin-cut, skin-on french fries, this was a truly good meal. And if I can say that about the vegetarian burger, I'm sure they know their way around their meat options too. Service was spot on, with our waiter checking on us neither too much or too little and topping off our water glasses whenever they ran low. The only drawback I can think of is that pickles do not come with your burger, and asking for them will get you two spears of pickles and cost you an extra 50 cents, as will as extra lettuce and tomato. But, folks, this is Brooklyn Heights, where even breathing the air will cost you something. Other than that, we enjoyed a great meal here and would definitely return again. read more

Nice spot for lunch with a full bar and decent amount of tables. It's rarely ever super crowded so there's never a wait for a table and the food comes out quick. I often get the lamb burger which is fresh ground and seasoned with spices and topped with house made tzatziki (white sauce), paired with fries. It's delicious and filling too. On days in he summer when I'm not that hungry I'll grab a BLT that ones with "two8two" sauce on it, idk what's in that stuff but it's so good. I've tried several drinks on the menu also. They run a margarita special during happy hour; classic margarita on the rocks for $6, it's pretty solid. I've been meaning to try out this place for the longest time and boy, am I happy I did. It's a large space with plenty of bar seating and a huge area in the back along with a backyard patio and it's dim, warm, and inviting - perfect for a lowkey date night or to throw back a few drinks with your friends. First off, their pub burger is incredible. The grilled onions are perfect, the cheddar cheese is melt in your mouth, and even though the bun is one of those barbecue buns you can buy from Wonderbread or whatever, it's actually perfect for the burger because you're not there to eat bread. You're there to eat MEAT. The two8two sauce is some sort of mayo-based topping, a little sweet and a lot savory. My only complaint was that my burger was a little bit on the salty side, probably from the 8 oz patty and the bacon all rolled together, but listen, I'll take a little bit of dehydration for something that delicious. The onion rings were nothing to write home about, but honestly, I was so happy and joyous after that delicious burger, I didn't even care. This is worth every ounce of hype, I assure you. read more

Also, I must give props once again to the sweet potato fries and onion rings-- both very delicious! One thing I failed to mention in my initial review was their great selection of reasonably priced draft beers, so be sure to check those out as well. Also, I recently found out they have Happy Hour each day, so ask the wait staff about their drink specials. In the exploration of the Flatbush neighborhood which I need to do more. My friend and I wanted a nice burger for dinner. Two8Two seems to fit the bill. The restaurant was pretty full the night we went. The wood rustic interior lends to the burger eating but acoustically was a bit loud. I went here on an off day (Xmas Eve), and in the late afternoon, so it was sort of empty but I ended up running into an acquaintance anyway, which was a good omen. The bloody mary I ordered with my burger was interesting - pretty briny with a lil' pickle and all - and I mostly enjoyed it, but the Veggie Burger was off the chain. Firstly, you MUST get it with the sauteed onions as that really makes the burger pop. The patty that they used isn't one I usually enjoy - it was all veggie and no soy - but the way they prepared it made me lop it all up. The Two 8 Two sauce is another must. It's not vegan, though why would you expect it to be in a burger spot. The fries are pretty good too - we got the sweet potato ones. The workers here are so polite and helpful. Two friends and I were trying to find a place to chow down with our dog. We called them and asked if we could bring her, she's 12 pounds and super quiet, into their patio space so we didn't have to leave her and they were super accomodating with us. The server actually brought our dog water first before us! A+ my man! Their menu is small which is perfect for the indecisive type like me! Got the Two 8 Two burger which was delish! Good burger. Nice little place. The waiter was nice and helped get an outside table ready for us quickly. We were given water and then... nothing. We looked over the menu even though we were ready from seeing the menu before coming in. Eventually our server came over and we ordered everything, including drinks. Commence with more waiting. Their meat is supposed to come from a local butcher literally around the corner which I've been to and is fantastic. I found the burgers to be a good size. They are not crazy big but, they are also not tiny like someone mentioned. The turkey burger was full of flavor and between the toasted bun and the crispy bacon was on par with what I expected of a good burger. Wife had the protein burger, it had a ton of lettuce for the wrap, she ended up disassembling it. Flavor was on point though so no complaints. Sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The onion rings were fantastic. Straight up beer batter onion rings. They serve them with ketchup, which is a crime. I've had some great burger experiences here. I would say that I enjoy sitting at the window while enjoying a "Billy Burger" and an IPA. I prefer to go when it's not quite busy with happy hour crowds. Late afternoon is preferred. The burger is simple and juicy. I believe they source their ground beef from Paisanos Butcher shop on Smith Street. I really enjoy the shredded iceberg lettuce that sometimes accompanies the burger. They don't always give you lettuce so I make it a point to ask for it. Also their pickles are really good alongside the burger, I usually get an extra side of pickles. I wouldn't say the fries are the best, but I tend to go for the sweet potato fries. The Bar and the Burger. Simple, wonderful, and shouldn't be hard to execute. Fortunately, two8two wears the mantle well. I've been here twice with my wife. Once, we sat in the back garden with a group, the second time we sat alone at the bar. Both times we had excellent service and both times we had good brews and burgers at a decent price. Note: the food is a la carte. If you order a burger, that's all you are getting. This is a detractor for some, and I admit I think it's pretty lame, but it is what it is. Sometimes it is unfortunate to live in New York. Personally, I think the buns are too small. Both times I have been here, the bun on my burger has been a bit smaller than the burger itself. This, I am not crazy about. Also the bun itself is not the large, substantial bun I am used to with a burger. It is small and low-profile like the little potato buns you can get at the supermarket or like a fast-food-style bun. That, however, is the only comparison to fast-food I will make here as the quality of two8two is anything but. Regardless of my complaint about the bun, I just can't be mad at it. It may not be my preference, but the burgers are delicious anyway and it's certainly not a deal-breaker. My wife and I have had an all-around great experience here and we will be back. Note: there is not a terrible amount of seating here but they do have a large bar to sit at. This is a popular place on Yelp so i made it a destination. I enjoyed the boozy-burger vibe. They clearly put a lot of thought into designing the overall experience. The burger was very small and a bit pricey. They get fresh meat from a local butcher but make no claims about the contents. It is not grass fed or organic or anything. Just beef or in my case lamb. The lamb burger was tasty though. I added an egg and ordered a side of fries. Yes you pay $12 for the little tasty burger and the get the opportunity to order fries. The fries were fine. Well cooked. The style was very fake-fry feeling. Sweet mush recombined into the shape of a fry. Not my favorite style but they did it well. But in the end I leave feeling good. There is a nice bar with decent taps at the front, and a quiet dining room in the back, this place will fit whatever party you come here with. We didn't take very long looking at the menu at went with their signature burger, Greek fries, and blackened chicken sandwich. The signature burger came in at a good price and just the right size, topped with poblano chiles, cheddar and their own sauce. The burger looked delicious, smelled amazing, and (luckily) tasted fantastic! Since the burgers don't come with sides, we shared a Greek fries order and was also thrilled at its flavor, crispiness, and perfect seasoning. One of us didn't feel like burger night so I ordered the blackened chicken sandwich topped with bacon, cheddar, and their sauce. This, too, was another surprise in flavor and presentation. The pictures really don't do it justice as the sandwich came out hot and enticing. The chicken was not dry at all, nor was it greasy. The bacon was crispy and their signature sauce just tied the whole sandwich together so well. I've been meaning to come here for a long time. I actually made my way over after Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy. It was packed since it was one of a few food places open on the block. Food service also took out bit longer than usual, at least according to the bartender. I ordered the signature burger. I must say, the meat was good, but it was a bit on the small side. The chilies on top made it a little bit slimy and only added incremental flavor to it. Also, for $9, it came with no fries on the side, which was a little bit disappointing. They also only give you ketchup in tiny cups. I also tried the sweet potato fries. They were a little soggy and could use more spice. All in all, I would return to give them another shot when it's normal. It's a great atmosphere and I would try one of their other burgers. read more

I came here for a friend's farewell party on Friday night. The space is small, but very cozy. We had a fairly large group, and were given the space in the back. The only option I had was the veggie burger, which was pretty tasty- I just had them hold the cheese. I also had the blood orange margarita, which was most definitely grapefruit, but still pretty tasty. Thankfully, we were automatically given individual bills, allowing everyone to come and go as needed. I passed this spot sooo many times when I was living in Brooklyn, and never went in. When you charge $10 for a burger, you're setting the expectations pretty high (even for NY), and this place definitely falls short. Their namesake burger was pretty bland, not sure what the two8two sauce was supposed to taste like. All I tasted was a cheeseburger with poblano chiles. I've ordered for pickup several times. The burgers are amazing. I like to call in my order bc I confirm the exact timing --the person who takes my order is always super efficient and friendly! I've tried to call the last few weeks and haven't been able to place an order by telephone --just get a recording saying they're busy--and an online order for pickup was estimated for 40-65 min--which wasn't consistent with any other time I've ordered when they've estimated 10-15 minutes for a burger. I'm glad business is picking up but I didn't order bc I didn't want a cold burger and I also didn't want to be standing and waiting longer than necessary bc I was getting this for my drive home at 9 at night.
