Fast forward to February of 2024! I noticed that the HVAC unit did not seem to be working properly. I contacted Diane at AC & H of Tampa Bay and she set up an appointment to have one of their technicians inspect my HVAC unit. The next morning, Bobby thoroughly inspected my HVAC unit and upon completion he advised me he wanted to speak with the staff at the main office because of concerns he had regarding my condenser unit. Thirty minutes after he left my residence, Bobby called and advised me that the condenser unit needs to be replaced. The main office later called me to set up a date and time to have this work done. On the date and time promised, Jeff and Jose from the AC & H of Tampa Bay arrived with the new condenser unit and began the installation process. By the afternoon, my new condenser was up and running. Before Jeff left, he advised me he wanted to schedule a return visit when the outside temperature was warmer to insure the pressures in the unit were correct. He explained the work he did and reassured me that this defective unit was merely an adoration. I fully understand that on occasion any part in a mechanical device can fail. What I must point out was the professionalism displayed by this company from every single employee. They were kind, courtesies and were genuinely interested in getting my HVAC problem repaired. The labor was under an extended warranty I had with AC & H of Tampa Bay along with a warranty from the manufacturer of the condenser unit. All costs associated with the unit and its replacement labor costs were covered by that warranty! A warranty with Air Conditioning & Heating of Tampa Bay means exactly that, they stand by their word and you are covered! This is a family owned and run company and it shows. The are dedicated, professional and most of all HONEST! If you need your HVAC system repaired or a new one installed, these are the people to go to. I highly recommend this company and will continue to hire them when I have HVAC needs! GREAT JOB!

The first service call was…read moreperformed a week or two ago, but I was consulted about replacing a part that still worked, which I chose not to, although the units parts were still under warranty. He could have replaced them for the service charge but didn't and what do I know about air conditioner parts? Then, shortly, this is in June, the early days of summer. another AC failure on a Saturday night. Calling in a service request was met with a full mail box. I called first thing Monday morning and wasn't able to talk to somebody for 30 minutes for the service call which didn't arrive until late in the afternoon, where it was pronounced the part another part had failed, and that he would get the previously injured part to replace that too. The part he did replace cost $192, for a unit guaranteed for 10 years (still under warranty). By the way, you don't get to see the invoice until you pay it. He returned Tuesday and replaced the previously injured part, charged $160 for the service call, the system blew cold over night and failed the next morning. He came back the next day and replaced the dryer, and charged me $569.00 (not itemized although a dryer was replaced) for almost a couple of hours work, tops. Well comes the following Saturday night, and it failed again. The same tech did all this. He is rude, his pants hang down below his ass, he was speaking to some woman on cell in speaker mode almost the whole time he was working, and to justify the price he said to the effect that I live in a nice house and he lives in a shack; is that like white privilege or something. I don't know. I guess that Bart has retired and is no longer involved with the company or the market allows for bad service and he just does not care. I requested a working AC on the system I purchase 7 years ago whose compressor was already replaced once and I pay a semi annual fee to be maintained. The quality was trash, and there was no value in being inconvenienced, and the astonishing claim from that technician that he as performed a valuable service for the value of the money I paid. I pay for protection, but the providers are incompetent.

I will caution you up front - they WILL be more expensive than pretty much anybody else you get a quote from. That being said, whatever you need done, it will be done correctly. And while I'm all about shopping around for the best price, when it comes to my air conditioning unit, I'm just not willing to look for a bargain. I've gone that route, and lived to regret it. After having to wait another day until a tech was sent to my home, I thought the AC issue was repaired and I'd be resting at night with cool air. No so, within hours there was HOT air coming from the vents. My son was guessing the tech could have crossed some wires in the wrong way. So my husband called the company back and again we wouldn't see anyone until the next day. So I had another day and overnight in the high 80s, near 90 degrees. The new tech said, according to him, the previous guy did make an error with the thermostat. By the time this new guy left, he had cool air coming from the vents. I paid him the $195 service fee. Wellll, not so fast! The cool air only lasted about an hour before the heat was back. I turned off the system and began to seek another company. I came to Yelp and discovered a company I used last year, which I had forgotten the name, and noticed my review. Yahoo! I am thankful because that AC company, who is a small business who has been in business for over 50 years, came to my rescue with a short time on the day I called. I didn't have to wait another day or go through another night trying to sleep in high 80s-90 degrees. The business techs even arrive earlier than the promised timeframe. Within 45 minutes the problem was located and fixed. It did happen to be at the thermostat. Tech pulled out his smartphone to locate the online manual and within a few short minutes the AC was back to providing cool air once again. Their service call and repair only cost me $79!!! AND it kept creating cool air all night long. The set temp was reached before midnight. I slept well and I'm very happy with my new forever AC (see my review) company. Bad news here is Anchor is sinking their ship of poor customer service and high charge! So I'm getting off the titanic and into the rescue boat and riding off with MY new AC partnership for all my AC needs!
