So I am not sure what is going on here. There are two buildings. One says "Two Costas" but the door is locked. Next door there is a space called "Luna" which is not even found on this app, but all the pictures for Two Costas are for this place so I am guessing they are the same? But why is it so confusing? Anyway we stopped here on the way to the airport. I ordered a veggie omelette with home fries (was given french fries) and a chicken empanada. The empanada was great and I wish I had ordered more to go. The omelette was just eggs, tomato and green pepper. There was no cheese, so it was incredibly bland and I didnt eat much of it. Service was decent and the space was clean and well maintained. Anyway, maybe I just misordered, but it is a very confusing place so be aware. read more

Two Costas has been a longtime favorite of mine. Anytime I'm in the area, I make it a point to stop by for a latte and one of their amazing butter rolls. Their fresh bread is always delicious and I always take a a dozen rolls home to make sandwiches. The sandwiches and pastries are consistently fresh and full of flavor. Expensive for the quality. The food was mid at best, only good thing was the sugar coated pastry. The service was good, and quick. Very nice comfortable place, unlike the food. The carrot cake taste had a good taste, but TERRIBLE consistency. It was almost just old like my grandmother. The cheesecake was stiff and chewy. I compared it to cheesecake factory, and this was a joke. The strawberry placed on-top was also OLD and SOUR. I love strawberries and cheesecake, and the fact that they can ruin such a beautiful combination is INSANE! The tres leches wasn't as sweet for. It was bland and wasnt up to my expectations. Always fresh rolls and really Good chicken sandwiches. The pastries are pretty decent. Can be quite a wait if the bread it coming in hot but who would complain for waiting for freshly baked goods? I usually come here all the time for their sandwiches and I never had anything bad to say as they were always fresh and delicious. Though today i'm not sure if they can't keep their products fresh from this heat but as I ate my tuna sandwich, their mayo not only smelled but tasted weird. I had heard an article on the difference between Taylor ham and pork roll. When business called for me to visit New Jersey I jumped at the chance to sample this famous sandwich. This quaint and unassuming deli/café served a delicious Taylor ham breakfast sandwich with egg & cheese on a Portuguese roll. It was definitely worth the wait as the sandwich was a home run. I've been thinking about this place since my last breakfast here a year ago. In particular the Portuguese Egg Tarts (Natas) which I love. This second visit was just as good as I remembered it. Service is excellent for how busy it is, and the fact that it is a deli, not a full service restaurant. And we do pay deli prices, a toasted ham and egg croissant with large latte was only $7. Not sure what that other review was going on about bad service because he or she was not Portuguese. I am Chinese and still got the same service as anyone else. However, it does seem like this is the go-to place for the Portuguese in the area. Every table seemed to be speaking Portuguese! Only downside, they wouldn't let me buy all the natas and only let me take 20. Still, not a reason to give Two Costas any less than 5 stars. read more

Linden isn't very entrepreneur friendly. Which I guess is good, because if it was, this would be on our main street and not down the road from me. A main street filled with pizza places, bars that probably pledge a allegiance to the Confederate flag and barber shops. Lots of barber shops. Please do not close down. I will pour money into this place. So many moneys. Open 7 days a week until 8. It's a deli/bakery so you got choices. $5 mini for plastic, which isn't bad at all. You'd hit $5 after getting a decent sized sandwich, a drink and a custard cup. Indoor seating and two televisions. Coffee. Empanadas. Tons of parking in the area also if you're unlike me and don't skateboard. Customer service was also on point. Patient and unnecessarily apologetic. Linden just stepped its game up. The toasta Miata was yummy and so was my latte, cured my craving We also got the Cuban sandwich which was ok. Okay, so until Costas makes good on their professionalism and dignity as an honest establishment- this review will stay. I've been here a number of times. The food is good but the service is not. No one is overly friendly. The only reason people go here is because like I said, the food is good and fairly priced. But if you're not Portuguese, you are treated differently than if you are. I'm Italian which is fairly close enough lol. I say this Bc one of the girls I took there IS Portuguese and she was treated better. It could be the language barrier that makes the difference but I don't think so. So I was here for two hours last week. I bought myself and three girls breakfast. One of the girls bought a sandwich for her mom but paid separately. When the lady rang me up, I was expected to pay so I didn't see the receipt until way after as I shoved it in my purse and ONLY looked at it when I was going to throw it out. That's when I noticed I was charged for the girl's moms take-out sandwich which I confirmed w her that she had paid although I had seen her do it anyway. I call the restaurant and explain this to them. I get switched from one person to another so I assume the second person I talked to was a manager. It was an older woman. She was RUDE and so NOT for the customer. She thought I was lying even though I explained the whole story. She asked why I waited two days to call and I explained that I only saw the receipt Bc I was about to throw it away. She told me TWICE that I would have to come in and show her who the girl was that rang me up! Now the girl that rang me up was not the one that took my order. I stated that I absolutely would not go in there and point someone out and that was not my position to do so. When I disputed this- the lady literally turned her whole story around and said that wasn't what she said... but it was Maybe she realized how ridiculous that sounded. I said I would go in the next day w my receipt but I would not point out a worker Bc that's so terrible to do to someone. I wasn't going to go in there looking for drama. Either they refund my money Bc they did charge twice for a sandwich (this showing either the workers don't communicate or they are told to rip people off as much as they can) or they can even give me $6.50 worth of food. She said, "We'll see when you get here." Needless to say, I never went there but as you can, I did include the receipt that yes, I still have. I was just so disgusted by the accusatory way she treated me for a freakin $6 sandwich and how I would have to wild goose chase and point fingers at workers rather than be kind and professional and not pass judgement so quickly. If I was looking to rip them off I would've went in there without a receipt and demanded something. Instead I called and had a receipt and I'm sure they have copies of receipts in their records. They could've done some work on their part and saw that they charged twice within a ten minute time period for the same sandwich. Instead, the lady treated me like a liar and was going to make me go in there and prove my case. No way! I just won't go there anymore. That's how that goes. I really wish the lady would've treated me nicer Bc I love supporting small businesses- maybe they should read the reviews about how rude they treat people and take a closer look for improvement purposes, Bc in Linden, businesses come and go and it's the ones that treat their customers the best that stay- like Big Blues, Grill Diner, the Long standing Father & Son. All examples of businesses that treat or treated their customers well and have went nowhere. Fighting w customers over $6 makes a business lose way more money than that $6 in the long run. Shoot - they could've given me a couple empanadas or even the chicken sandwich that I paid for without ever having and I would've still patronized their establishment and would have a good feeling about them. There's a review here about a woman who bought steak and the owner treated her sooooo terribly or how people ordered things for parties and the orders were messed up. It's sad but I think we can expect this place to but last forever and maybe then they will learn the in order for a business to prosper, you must treat the customer w dignity. read more

This is a nice small but cozy place to eat breakfast in Linden. The breakfast sandwiches were good (my only complaint would be the cheese--too much is used and the quality is that of like a kraft single) I really enjoyed my latte; however, the empanadas were terrible--flavorless and extremely dry so don't waste you money on those. Great place to get yourself some portuguese delights :) Their dessert are amazing especially the custard cups and it's the perfect spot for breakfast and even brunch. Got myself the best portuguese latte, i'm portuguese but i still have yet to learn the spelling for it, yes i know i am a disappointment haha. Along with the drink i got a ham & cheese sandwich and i gotta say i love coming here! Not my favorite place but it's still a very good place! Typical Portuguese fare. The women at the counter are nice, but.... service is beyond slow. It would be nice if you can pay when you get your food. Bad customer service. I had an awful experience today. I purchased two sandwiches along with two coffee. When I went to pay, the young woman was trying to charge me for items I didn't request. When I asked for a clarification, the woman had the nerve to say that I had taken the merchandise and was trying to get by. When I asked them to look at their security footage, they refused to acknowledge what I said. I have been going to this place for quite some time, and treating me as if I was stealing was uncalled for. The woman who serve the food never even said one word while she just stood there with her mouth shut. This bakery is awesome! There are a lot of Portuguese bakeries in Union County to choose from and this one is one of the best. There is also a place to sit if you're eating in. I usually get the Toasta Mista--a toasted ham and cheese sandwich on a portuguese roll, you can also get it on thick slicked bread, and it was so yummy! Add their delicious cappuccinos and pastels and you have the perfect breakfast. I'll definitely be back again when I'm in the area. The women working that morning are super warm and friendly too. This nice and convenient Bakery and Deli is wonderful. I love relatively close. Thanks to their location I am able to make a quick stop before walking to the train station. On arrival I can enjoy my cup of coffee with a nice hearty breakfast meal that is low cost. They are packed most of the time in the morning, which is a good sign for a young business. It was a rough beginning for them because some of their sweets were not fresh. That's the past now, because they have only kept improving their bakery as time went on. More options to choose from and great service. You are even able to call and make a pre-order. The most imperative is the food, I have not tried all of them. The few amount of food that I have though I enjoyed very much. Mostly the deli menu. There is an abundance of desserts and meals to choose from. I always prefer cappuccino, and I do like their cappuccino very much. The workers are polite and work as hard as possible to please there customers. The more often you go, the more amicable you become with one another. I would definitely recommend people try this bakery. Alone or with a partner. read more

I loved the cuban sandwich here. Huge, cheap, and delicious. I really wanted to try the pastries, but I had no idea what to order. The girl at the counter just told me what everything was, no help when I asked her what was good. Went with the pineapple cake that was wrapped in saran wrap because it looked home made. It was ok, a little dry and tasted like it was made with a very strong extract of... something. Couldn't really put my finger on it.
