This place is really charming. My husband and I stayed here for one night on our way to Taos, and we are so glad we did! We stayed in the casa cactus cabin, and it was so cozy and cute. Everything was very clean, the beds had soft linens and the room was appointed well. Wall heaters worked great to keep us toasty all night. Fraudsters. I stayed for a month and had a great deal of communication with the owners prior to my stay. I was promised one cabin and when I arrived I was booked in another, much less desirable cabin. They also promised that the internet was reliable. There was no access point close enough to any of the cabins for wifi and they knew it. I couldn't find alternate lodging without internet, as the area in general has weak cell service. They added an access point after a week but I nearly lost my job. I bought an antenna to try to boost the weak wifi signal and had it stuck in the window blinds. My dog got caught in the cord and broke one slat. These are standard, white vinyl blinds that can be found anywhere for around $15, and a replacement slat is less than $1. My extended stay required a damage deposit. I told them about the broken blind immediately, and offered to pay for the time involved to replace the slat. They made no effort to fix it so I taped it together so it was functional during my stay. After I left, they charged me $108 to replace the entire blind, claiming they were custom faux wood blinds. I repeat, these were standard, vinyl blinds and they all come with replacement slats when you buy them. When I asked about the exorbitant charges, they stopped communicating with me. I didn't ask for compensation for not getting the cabin that I specifically requested and was promised. I didn't ask for compensation for not having the wifi that they promised. I didn't ask them to reimburse me for the antenna I had to buy. I planned on writing them a good review even after all of that, because they seemed like nice people and it's obvious that they struggle with keeping up the property. Then they have the nerve to try to scam me out of over $100 for a $1 slat in a blind that never would have broken in the first place if they hadn't lied about the internet. Note about the cabins: They have crammed three cabins at the back of the property where there is barely room for two. They are literally inches apart, and the Maverick is in the middle. The only views you will get if you book the Maverick are of the other cabins, it gets zero sun and offers no privacy whatsoever. read more

We've stayed at Two Fox Cabins two separate times now and we've enjoyed both time so much! The owners, are so accommodating and the cabins have a cute southwest vibe! It was our anniversary the second time and they made the trip extra special! We will always stay here if we travel to this side of the state. read more

I reserved a cabin for my son, daughter-in-law and myself on April 30 for three nights over Christmas 2018. On Nov. 7 I had to change my reservation to two nights and it was confirmed again. On Nov. 25 I got an email from Two Fox saying the cabin had been rented for the season and offering me a motel room or a refund if i wanted to look elsewhere. I did not want a motel room and of course I could not find another cabin a month before Christmas. So much for our Christmas plans! *EXTREME WARNING* The operator of this property Patty Burns is extremely eager to charge you additional monies. I would never personally give my information to this woman again and obviously would never stay here as well. We were charged a smoking fee for throwing away a butt in the trash, we never smoked in the shed and were told that it would take three days to fumigate when in fact she had the SHED not CABIN rented the very next night. I called to check. I would be very careful staying here because she will hit you with a fee much larger then what it costs to stay and we didn't even have pet or make a peep noise wise. In additional the shed is pretty nasty, and overstuff with crap, and the bed is lumpy and uncomfortable. Stay at your own risk!!! read more

Pam is an incredible person with an incredible property. My girlfriend and I rented a cabin from her and only have good things to say about the management and the quality of the residency. We were put up in one of the larger, 6 bedroom cabins because they are easier to heat in the winter. The cabin was completely outfitted with appliances, utensils, cookware, and even an electronic fireplace. It was much more modern than we expected. It's location is absolutely prime. You are 20 minutes from the base of the Spanish Peaks; an hour from Great Sand Dunes National Park; an hour from New Mexico; and 10 minutes from the GORGEOUS La Veta Pass. I will be returning in May with my father and cannot wait to return to these awesome cabins! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a getaway! read more

Be careful out there, they charged my credit card and simultaneously responded that they have no rooms. The most generous interpretation is that they are disorganized and/or have a lousy website design. So, I haven't stayed there and cannot comment on the rooms, just the process. Make sure everything is done correctly and be sure to check your credit card charges! Two Fox Cabins is what makes La Veta the preferred in-state getaway for my wife and I. Any time we decide to take a long weekend down in the southern part of the state, we always stay at Two Fox Cabins because it just feels like home. We've stayed in both the smaller cabins and the larger cabins, and no matter the size of the cabin you're staying in, you can expect a clean, livable space. If you're looking for tips on local dining, art, activities, and anything in between, Patty will be more than happy to help you find the experience you're looking for during your stay. This place is one of the best kept secrets of the Cuchara Valley. We will never look beyond these cabins for a place to stay when we visit. Do yourself a favor and look no further either. read more

Owners are extremely friendly. The location is excellent and the accommodations were spotless and top notch. I went with my two year old son and two friends for a wknd away from Denver and loved it. We heard the river from our cabin and all the other guests/residents of the town were extremely friendly. I prefer this to staying in Cuchara. The town felt much more authentic and lively. If you are going to La Veta or the surrounding area, you should stay at the Two Fox Cabins! read more

Two Fox Cabins are truly a hidden gem and one of the best kept secrets in Southern Colorado! Nestled in the picturesque gateway to the Highway of Legends, the cabins are within easy walking distance to the restaurants, wine artist studios and historical attractions that make La Veta such a great place to visit. All of the historical cabins on the property have been lovingly renovated by the owners, Doug and Patty Burns, who are as much of a treasure as the property they own. Each cabin was immaculately clean, the price very reasonable and the decor from western folklore and local artists made the entire place feel like home. Patty knows all the "local" spots for hiking, exploring as well, which she graciously shares with guests. The property is also pet-friendly, which made our pooches happy. Patty made our stay in Cabin 3 & 4 an absolute delight and a wonderful departure point for our Spanish Peaks adventures. Can't wait to return for Oktoberfest! read more
