An elevated (and certainly pricy) breakfast/brunch (and dinner) spot, they're popular for their matcha and coffee bar and bright, colorful plates. I've visited a couple of times for breakfast and have stopped by while shopping on SoCo for an iced latte. It's a good spot but be prepared to pay a premium price for what it is. We spent $85 on breakfast (including 20% tip) so it's definitely not an every weekend, casual kind of thing! The iced lattes alone will run you $7-$8, depending on what you get. And a refill on your drip black coffee is an extra $1, which I think is a bit over the top. The strawberry rose matcha was flavorful smooth, and it really hit the spot. FOOD RATINGS: - Banana walnut bread (4/5): I think this would have tasted better warmed. The bread was cold and therefore a bit dry, but still pretty good. Loved the espresso mascarpone, but toward the end it started feeling too heavy - like eating cake for breakfast. The walnuts and toasted buckwheat are a nice touch for crunch. $11 for a slice, though generous, is a bit much and I can't say it was worth the price. - Steak and eggs (5/5): This should really just be called "steak and egg" because you only get 1 egg, but the steak was perfectly cooked and the egg was gorgeous. The side salad was refreshing and everything went together well. - Seasonal scramble + hash brown (3.5/5): I paid an extra $4 to add a hash brown. Crispy and aesthetic, no hash brown is worth $4. The eggs were beautiful - their signature "soft ribboned" eggs. The eggplant and tomato kasundi was interesting. Reminded me of a curry flavor. Our server was fine. I loved the menu's options. Everything is very light and fresh, and there are tons of gluten-free options, as well. They have a kid's menu, so while it's not "ideal" for kids, they are welcome. What a great spot to jump into on a late Saturday afternoon. My wife and I were looking for something small after walking around South Congress for the first time in a couple years. It a bit shocking with all this new construction in the area that there are still not too many eating options. Lucky for us though, we found Two Hands. We ordered the veggie with hummus plate and the red chilies french fries. The hummus plate came with a ton of hummus and extremely bright and fresh veggies. It was a great choice and I loved the almost cakey texture of the waffle. They didn't hesitate with the lemon flavor which I loved! This was definitely an elevated brunch experience. First time trying out Two Hands on South Congress - this would be a perfect place to bring someone visiting Austin. It captures the newer vibe of SoCo perfectly. We made reservations at 9:45 am on a Monday (holiday), but it didn't seem as if the wait would've been too long without. I got the Seasonal Scramble which came with soft ribboned eggs cooked to perfection layered over an eggplant and tomato kasundi topped with a cilantro/greens salad and paprika oil. These were flavors I had never experienced on a breakfast/brunch plate, and they worked perfectly together. Don't let the paprika oil fool you - it didn't add a strong taste or oily texture to the plate at all. My partner got the B.E.K. roll. Not as outstanding/unique as the scramble, but the smoky tomato relish definitely brought it up a notch from your standard breakfast sandwich. Great portion size as well. The flavor of the hash brown didn't blow me away, but I loved the solid shape and texture. More of this at breakfast restaurants please! Lastly we finished with banana walnut bread. This isn't something either of us would have usually wanted to order, but I saw another Yelper post a picture and couldn't get it out of my mind. It was incredible! The textures blended together perfectly, and the espresso mascarpone on top invoked memories of delicious tiramisu desserts. The food is great and the vibe is super hip :) Located in downtown South Congress, Two Hands has great location and is usually super busy on Saturdays and Sundays. I'd suggest you make reservations in advance if you're visiting during the weekends, but if not you can always put your name down at the front desk and shop/sightsee around the music lane! Their brunch menu features Australian cuisine and they're one of the few brunch places that could actually ensure "healthy" coexists with "yummy". All dishes are well presented and decorated with fresh flowers and herbs. Some of my top picks include the salmon quinoa bowl and the chicken basil bowl. For drinks, their matcha latte is THE BEST!! Everything paired perfectly with one another! As for the seasonal scramble, the flavoring was explosive and my friends were especially partial to the dish. The avocado toast was average, lacking salt & pepper. It wasn't bad but you're not paying for anything special. The crispy chili fries were golden brown and the chili on top striked a perfect balance of tangy and spicy. The hash brown was cooked perfectly with a crispy, golden exterior and a soft, pillowy inside. Finally, the chia bowl was an interesting pair of flavors. A little damp out yet the crew was wiping down chairs and readying for the start of a new day. I sat outside under the cover of some beautiful trees nestled nicely between some new buildings - a regular Austin occurrence these days. I ordered an Americano with a side of Almond milk. The service here is fantastic and the attention to the details is equal. My drink came in a beautiful blue cup with the writing "Two Hands Cafe" and a small spoon for stirring. The drink was a solid example. My meal was the Steak and Eggs - wow! This is hard to pas sup now and I'll probably get this for as long as it sits on the menu. A delicious, well appointed meal for a great value! Steak and Eggs came with a nice portion of steak (medium rare as requested). This was sliced for me and covered with what I believe may have been chimichurri sauce. A side of the best collard greens I've had in a while and a hashbrown made of riced potatoes and what looked like chives that was pressed into a 3"diameter by 1" thick puck of fried golden goodness. If that wasn't enough the name should tell you we have yet to mention the egg which came sunny side up and nestled atop the hashbrown! I was impressed for sure and I look forward to another trip out here. They are very COVID cautious so this only makes it more likely to come back for me. Great job to the team here as the staff was a solid 11/10! My dog got a few pets, a nice water dish, and plenty of attention - his favorite! I went to this place for Sunday brunch. It was very busy but the wait was shorter than the hostess estimated (40 mins vs. 20 mins). She seemed very nice but also pretty frazzled. As it was our first time there, I asked her where people usually waited since the bar wasn't open seating. There are a few other restaurants and shops in the So Co area so I thought she'd mention strolling around but staying nearby but she said she wasn't sure. So you can imagine my surprise, when we leave and turn the corner to find that there is a whole coffee window attached to Two Hands with a small seated waiting area. It was cold so we grabbed a lavender matcha lattes with oat milk. The lavender was good but I found the matcha taste a little overpowering. As I mentioned earlier, our wait ended up being shorter than estimated. When we received the text saying our table was ready, we headed back to the hostess stand inside. We were seated outside. It was very cold but they did have multiple standing heaters and heaters attached overhead on the wall to keep guests warm. I was a little jealous of the outside area at Aba (the Mediterranean restaurant next door) where there were blankets on the couches. I was so cold, I didn't even consider how hygenic it might be, but I digress. The server was friendly and provided many recommendations. To drink we had the Boozy Lavender Lemonade and the Grapefruit Juice. Both were refreshing and the lemonade lived up to its boozy name. The server had recommended the steak and eggs and the seasonal scramble. The steak in the steak and eggs was seasoned well but it was also a little dry. I loved the seasonal scramble and highly recommend it. I think I tasted tomato and turmeric amongst other delicious things. One downside, is that the steak and eggs ended up having a hair in it. The server was apologetic and put in for a new order. She didn't replace the steak and we had already eaten that portion, which I found fair. We ended up ordering dessert. It was the first time any of us had Pavlova and i loved the hard exterior combined with the creamy interior of passionfruit. The berries and edible flowers were a nice touch. After we ordered dessert, the server comped the steak and eggs. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. The only downsides were the frazzled hostess. I'm not sure if it was an unexpectedly busy Sunday brunch or just an off day, which happens to the best of us...and the hair in the food.
