    Blistered green beans
    Quin T.

My husband and I were in the area and decided to stop in for lunch, and I am so glad we did. I hadn't been back since 2021, so it felt like the perfect time to give them another try. The happy hour menu offered a great variety, and we enjoyed the she-crab roll, jalapeño hush puppies, salmon with chimichurri, blistered green beans and several Peach Mezcalitas. Everything was delicious, but what truly made the experience stand out was the service we received from Levi. Levi was attentive, personable, and professional throughout our visit. He was a welcome refresher from my first experience here, and his excellent service did not go unnoticed. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and will definitely be back.

    Steak Frites with Bottomless fries

This review is specifically for their Wednesday steak frites special with bottomless fries. There have been quite a few restaurants in Austin offering great weekday steak frites specials lately, so I was excited to try this one. Unfortunately, the steak missed the mark for me. I ordered it medium rare, but it came out closer to medium-well. The meat also had a bit of a funk to it, which made it seem like it may not have been the freshest cut. The fries were also underwhelming--poorly seasoned and pretty forgettable. Based on this experience, I probably wouldn't come back for the steak frites or another steak/meat entrée. That said, the restaurant itself is beautiful and very vibey, and I could see it being a great spot to grab a cocktail on the patio.

Stopped by during happy hour and only the happy hour menu is available during this time Which is also different than what they show on the website.... A lot of different items on the menu and personally nothing stood out We tried the burger - standard burger with cheese and lettuce pickle slaw The kale salad - kale with dressing and breadcrumbs and radish slices / pretty good but could've used something else Also tried the coffee roasted carrots - unfortunately our least favorite - very odd for us - pickled carrots with hummus and other items but not our favorite at all Service was fine - no issues there - food came out as ordered and within 20 mins Unfortunately they do not validate parking in the garage So do not park in the garage - super expensive Only valet Patio is super nice and dog friendly even have a dog menu!

We went for breakfast and I got the breakfast burrito. It was good. They brought out a hot sauce that I liked better than the sauce that came with it. I wish the bacon was crispier.

Really lovely spot hidden behind the main South Congress street. Brunch on the weekends till 4. Staff were friendly and helpful. Indoor and outdoor seating. I got the chilaquiles verde, very good! The breakfast burrito also looked very good and had potatoes in it. So many fun drink options, including teas and mocktails. Definitely would go again if I lived in the area!

Exquisite environment and delicious plates. Spent a lovely girl brunch w a hardy cocktail maybe for a girl brunch but that's well served. Our host was fine and did let us consider where to sit even to feel out the ambiance before sitting us she was a pleasure we were so unbothered during our girl it was beautiful. Will come back for that burger and maybe even later for dinner it is a nice date spot inside or out

Great experience great food only downside was they offered only canned soda at $5 a can with no refill. Other than that very nice.

Stumbled into this place to grab a cocktail and desperately need to come back for an actual meal. The service was quick for just getting a cocktail. I got an Aperol spritz so nothing crazy but they did a solid job making it. Vibes were so cute! Corn hole with cool outside seating. The indoor seemed vibey but didn't explore it too much!!

Very nice brunch on a nice sunny Austin day. I would highly recommend the donuts which were perfectly cooked. My omelette was good but not over the moon, would probably try something else if I come back.

Ohhh my goodness! My husband and I went out to brunch and it was just incredible! The patio was beautiful, peaceful and the morning had a light breeze. We could not have asked for a better day! Aiden was our server and had great recommendations. We started with sharing the 'LOADED' HASH BROWNS (GF). I wanted to eat it all day but had to save room! It melted in my mouth and I loved how much cheese was on it!! For my main dish, I got the AVOCADO TOAST 'CROISSANDWICH' and the flakiness of the croissant mixed with the avocado was divine. The sunflower salsa added a bit of heat which blended perfectly. My husband got the OMELETTE. We both love goat cheese and truffle anything. The arugula salad was so light and refreshing. The omelette was cooked exquisitely and I don't even know how to explain delightful flavor combination of the truffle butter with the goat cheese! We obviously had to share a bottle of bubbly to really start our day! I am going to go back for brunch but will need to check out the other menus! I highly recommend!

Visited here on a work outing and really enjoyed our time. We had a table of 15 and the restaurant accommodated us very well. The drinks were good- spicy marg and espresso martini. The food was delicious! My favorites were the whipped ricotta appetizer and tuna tare tare. I got the carbonara and it was amazing and so was the Cesar and steak. I overall liked the decor of this restaurant and the outside seating was nice. Parking was a little tricky but there was street parking.

    Yogurt parfait!

Lovely patio, huge cups of coffee, and friendly service make this little spot tucked away in the Hotel Magdalena a great brunch option that may be an easier reservation to land than some other more well known Austin brunch locales. The loaded hash browns are a great shareable plate and the yogurt parfait is a monster. Great spot!

    Apples and endives salad

My gf and I went here on Friday afternoon. I love that the location is a bit secluded so it didn't even feel that we're really close to the busy Congress St (during SXSW too!). We ordered the mozzarella sticks ($7), spritzers ($10), and apples and endives salad ($8) from the happy hour menu. Everything was delicious at a very decent price considering the location. Service was impeccable. We sat way past the happy hour time, and the waitress refilled our water until the end. Such a great spot for happy hour!

    Is there parking validation here?

No there is no parking validation

I have reservations here for dinner in a couple of weeks but recently had foot surgery. The pictures show a LOT of steps outside, leading to the door of the restaurant. Is there an elevator inside?

From my stay at the Hotel, I believe you can avoid the stairs if you take the hotel elevator up to the first floor and access the restaurant from the back door if this is allowed for non- hotel guests.… Read more

They had no issues when taking our second round order while we were seated, but we were asked to leave the table immediately after. This round also took forever and we drank it standing, crowded, in everyone's way. I was embarrassed as it was my birthday, and I was taking a group of 7 other people - new to Austin - here to check out what was one of my favorite spots. I was bragging about it and chose it over other spots on their list. They hated it. I'm disappointed. Our server was great to us and apologetic about the service bar.

There is a parking lot that you can get validation for 2 hrs free, but after that you will be charged. Overall though, it's totally worth a visit! The bartenders are really friendly, the bathrooms are immaculate, and the inside of the place is really cute -- think kinda pink vintage? There are some tables, and big comfy couches around a coffee table in the middle of the bar which is where we sat. I had one of their happy hour cocktails that was similar to a creamy espresso martini, and they are 50% off on happy hour days/times! My friend got one of their floral cocktails which wasn't discounted but I LOVED it personally. I also got a strawberry matcha drink (non alcoholic) that was a little too sweet in my opinion; I finished it but wouldn't get it again. Overall though the cocktails and vibe in there are worth a visit alone! When it's not too hot, the area outside has little mini-chandeliers and is also very vibey.

I usually only go to coffee shops to work, but today, went on a coffee date with my dog instead. There's ground floor parking in the garage that's complimentary for two hours. I kept it simple with a vanilla latte. I noticed they had tacos at the bottom of the food menu, but at $13.25 for two tacos + an a la carte item, I decided to pass. Maybe my expectations were too high (as usual) because it's inside a hotel, but I was hoping for the kind of warm hospitality hotels are known for, but instead, the service felt a bit cold. It didn't exactly make me want to spend more money there. While sitting on the patio, I spotted the food truck outside and thought, "PERFECT. A food truck HAS to be cheaper. Take that Simona's!" I walked up to the window... only to find out it wasn't actually a separate food truck. It was just the pickup window. To order? I had to go back inside to Simona's and place my order with the delightful staff... I ended up ordering two Blue Migas tacos, and honestly, they were just... good, but nothing memorable. They tasted like your average breakfast tacos that you can find all over Austin for less. Despite loving how relaxing the outdoor patio is with its lucious greenery surrounding you and the beautiful French chairs and cafe tables, it's located right next to the hotel pool. If you're visiting on a summer afternoon, expect some extra noise with pool guests. If you're looking for a quiet coffee or a place to work, I'd recommend coming early in the morning instead.

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.
