I did like the very center of it though. I got the mixed greens salad with an egg and it is probably the best salad I've ever had! The fresh lettuces and herbs were so delicious!! The dressing was so good too. I could have eaten two of these and left it at that. I got the chickpea crepe with goat ricotta and orange marmalade. This wasn't my favorite, but I am not a goat cheese person so I was hoping being ricotta I would like it. The crepe and marmalade were good though. Finding a spot to park was tricky but it was worth driving around the neighborhood and a bit of a walk. There is a bar inside that is bright and inviting. Our table was against the wall, near a little fireplace. I was meeting friends. We had zucchini fritti which were great. Our waiter told us his favorites. He recommended the sausage and eggs. I didn't order that but my friend did. It looked great. He cleaned his plate as if he were a little kid trying to be a member of the clean plate club. I ordered the burger. It was perfectly cooked. Such an elevated cafe experience! The vibes are unmatched. I absolutely love the open kitchen, their interior (and exterior) designer needs a raise! Staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. A cute brunch spot with a bit of a bougie taste both on the menu and around the cafe. I made a reservation for four and it unfortunately took so long just to get an order in (and had one of those moments where one of us asked for a drink after they asked and the waiter immediately left to put that order in without asking the rest of us). The food was alright, but for the price, the portions are small and look lonely on the plate. For a place aiming for a nicer vibe, I understand the portion sizes but the food isn't even pretty or complex enough to justify the dollar sign. The crepe was also extremely sweet, something I don't like to start a day off with. I enjoyed the citrus though. Overall, it was okay. Another Yelp Elite friend and I decided to introduce our +1s hoping they'll get along and we'll all be friends. We got sat in the patio, which they had designed with a nice fireplace and also added overhead and the standing space heaters. It was so effective that we got too warm and requested one of it turned off. We had a really sweet server - friendly, kind. We ordered drinks, which were well made but nothing particularly memorable. We order the sweet potato fritters to start with - it was almost entirely dough with no flavors of sweet potatoes. We then had a pizza and a pasta, which was quite bland. The pizza was fine and we also tried their polenta. The ambiance is cute - what a lovely date night spot. Service was 5 stars. But the food was lacking. This place has potential but falls just short. Local Lettuces (10/10) - very refreshing Risotto alla Milanese (10/10) - scallops cooked perfectly Pan Seared Red Grouper (11/10) - our favorite dish of the night. I did not want to share. After reading some great reviews of the Pecan Square Cafe we stopped in for lunch. The restaurant is in a great location with ample street parking. There is patio seating and the inside seating area was well decorated with large ceiling windows for views of trees. Our waitress was very friendly and our order was served quickly. We ordered the pizza and the porchetta sandwich...and they were delicious. Nothing was left on either of our plates. Very cute outdoor area that would be very enjoyable once the temperatures cool down. The inside has a great vibe with a lively bar area. It is very hard to find a decent happy hour and I think Pecan Square may have one of the best offerings around with 1/2 price bottles of wine and 1/2 price pizzas Monday-Friday from 3-5pm. Unfortunately we were not able to enjoy the happy hour, but we did enjoy our meal of zucchini fritti, maltagliati, agnolotti and pork schnitzel. The presentation was lovely and the portions were great and not too heavy. They also have a great wine selection and the Paul Prieur Sancerre paired lovely with all of our choices. Pecan Square Cafe is another spot I really wanted to like but missed on a lot of aspects. Let's talk about the pros first. We came on a Sunday afternoon, but we missed brunch by an hour. Right off the bat, my friends and I were stunned by how beautiful the space is. It's not a very large cafe, but pictures do not do this place justice. It's gorgeous. There is so much natural lighting, and no matter where you sit, the vibe is so nice. I tried my best to capture how stunning the interior is, but I don't think I managed to. It's stunning in a very natural way because they allow the space to speak for itself. There's not a lot of over-the-top decor or furniture, but there seems to be light that shines into every crack of the restaurant. You have to visit during daytime hours to se what I'm talking about. The rest of this review is going to be reserved for the cons. Someone else mentioned this as well, so I'm glad I'm not the only person who felt this way, Our server was really off. He didn't smile a single time, and the other reviewer said her server seemed like he almost "begrudgingly wanted to serve them". I'm not sure if we both had the same person, but that's exactly how I felt with our server. I felt really bad for asking him for a sauce or another piece of silverware, but I certainly should not be feeling that way. His attitude was really not it. The food is incredibly mediocre, and I didn't like our espresso martinis at all. They were incredibly bitter and acidic. The pizza and pesto pasta both were pretty bland and under seasoned, and I found myself just leaving the food on my plate after a few bites. Pecan Square Cafe is also by no means a cheap establishment, so it felt bad to visit and not really like anything that we ordered. read more

We went for my brothers birthday and he has both a gluten and dairy allergy. When he told our server she all but forced him to get the pork chop because in her words "that's the easiest one and won't cause our kitchen to have to work harder". He really wanted the steak and she basically said no. Then when his pork chop came out there were absolutely no sides for him. The cocktail menu was definitely unique and they do have a spritz of the day, which was very tasty. Not really sure if we'll rush back for a second visit. Worth a try at least once though. read more

Out for a solo meal and I could not stop ooing and ahhhhing over EVERY SINGLE COURSE. After a long work day this was such a lovely reward. Literally loved everything about my dinner experience and that's despite the heavy rain this evening. The setting and overall vibe is spot on. Every single staff person I interacted with was stellar. The waitress was very nice and allowed me to get the Chickpea Crepe Suzette. Better option for sure a little tart for my liking but better. Again of all the dishes the one that stood out are the ones that are more brunch centric, such as coffee and the sticky bun. Service: As noted above the staff is very friendly. My waitress was very attentive and helped me find suggestions when I needed. If you're in the mood for a brunch day, this is worth a visit. It was superb. It was beautiful: cozy and elevated at the same time. Our service was perfection, our waitress offered suggestions that were spot on, I'm talking EACH course. Played some weeknight pickleball and needed to refuel with dinner afterwards. My friend and I happened upon Pecan Square and were able to get seated outdoors without having to wait. The ambience if this place is really nice, perfect for a date. The building is behind Clark's Oyster bar and is sort of unassuming until you walk up the path towards it. I thought the design of the restaurant was nice, felt like a fancy cabin lodge. We ordered a few things: Sweet Potato Fritters - Very fluffy but crispy on the outside, I'm not a huge sweet potato person but I really enjoyed these Escarole Caesar - nicely tossed, the croutons were a bit too fried for my liking but some may appreciate the crunch. Handcut Tagliatelle - very nice, a pretty simple dish but done really well Mountain Rose Potato Pizza - I had a slice of this from my friend and thought it was tasty.
