Most of the time the employees are on their phones which should not be allowed except on break. The play pass the buck no one takes blame for nothing being done. He has dementia and does hassle you but you give up so easy to not take him to therapy so he may be able to walk again after his fall in April Do you bill medicare for therapy? I believe you did whether he got it or not. Did I not request finger food for him and he would have soup, mashed potatoes etc and make a huge mess. Did they ever clean the rooms they we so ugly and dirty. The more drugs they can give them to make the Zombies and bill medicare for, the better for them. Sarah was a caring nurse and he had a nice nurse thats name started with a T that understood dementia but for the most part no one cared!!!!!! I was lied to a few times there which made me very upset. I learned real quick it was all about the $$$$$$ not the care of the patient or concerns of the family. They could wait to get him out of there because he wasnt the perfect bed ridden patient. I wanted him out of his be each day. Maybe it was me they wanted to get rid of because I expected way better care than he got and I always was asking why things werent done to help him and treat him like they cared. Would NEVER recommend this facility.

My experience with Ignite Medical Resort Dyer was extremely disappointing and concerning. Based on…read morewhat I observed during my loved one's stay, I believe the facility falls far short of the standard of care and professionalism that its name suggests. On the very first day of admission, there was a cloth chair in my loved one's room that appeared to have dried human waste on the armrest. I immediately brought this to the attention of the staff. After investigating, I was assured that the chair would be removed right away. However, three days later, the chair remained in the room. Throughout the stay, the level of care, responsiveness, and bedside manner displayed by many of the nursing and CNA staff was unacceptable. The facility appeared to be understaffed, and there was a noticeable lack of urgency when patients required assistance. On numerous occasions, we used the call button to request help for my loved one. Not once did a nurse or CNA respond to the call button in a timely manner. Each time, a family member had to physically walk to the nurses' station to request assistance before anyone responded. My loved one shared a room with another patient, and I frequently overheard that patient calling out for help. She could often be heard moaning, groaning, and asking for assistance for extended periods. When staff eventually entered the room, I was shocked to hear them scold the patient, telling her that she was "always calling" and that she "didn't want anything." Witnessing this interaction was deeply troubling and demonstrated a lack of compassion and respect for a vulnerable resident. Another concern was the apparent lack of engagement with residents. Many elderly patients spent entire days sitting near the nurses' station with little to no interaction from staff. They appeared isolated, disengaged, and unhappy. The most disturbing issue occurred when I noticed what initially appeared to be clumps of dirt or lint along the wall behind my loved one's bed. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the area was covered with hundreds, if not thousands, of ants crawling along the wall and throughout the room. I immediately reported the issue to staff. One CNA responded by saying, "Well, I just got here." A nurse then acknowledged that she had already informed the day aide about the ant problem. This indicated that staff were already aware of the infestation, yet no action had been taken to resolve it or relocate the patient. When I expressed my concern and disgust regarding the situation, the nurse rolled her eyes and told me that I should contact maintenance about the ants. I found this response unprofessional and inappropriate, especially given that the issue involved patient health, safety, and sanitation. My final negative interaction occurred during the discharge process. The nurse manager reviewed my loved one's discharge instructions and medications. When I asked questions regarding follow-up medications, I was met with visible irritation and an unwelcoming attitude, as though asking questions about my loved one's care was an inconvenience. I strongly believe the facility should reevaluate its hiring practices, staff training, accountability measures, cleanliness standards, and responsiveness to patient concerns. Patients and families deserve compassionate care, professional communication, and a clean, safe environment. The one positive aspect of our experience was the therapy department. I did observe meaningful improvement in my loved one's therapy progress, and the therapy staff appeared dedicated to their work. They were the bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience. I was relieved when my loved one was discharged from Ignite Medical Resort Dyer. Based on my experience, I would not choose this facility again. I encourage families with loved ones in nursing homes or rehabilitation facilities to visit frequently and remain actively involved in their care. Photos and videos documenting the ant infestation are below.

DO NOT SEND UOUR LIVED ONES HERE…read more Pretty sure they are a big reason my dad passed away way sooner than he should have. They are not set up to take care of sick patients. The person in charge of nutrition didn't even know what meds my dad was on. He went downhill so fast there that we said we were calling 911. They ended up doing bloodwork and sending him after we said that. Got to the hospital and it turns out none of the bloodwork they sent was his. I'm pretty sure they fudged it just to get him out of there so they weren't liable.

My family has been sitting in a dark room daily because the ceiling light needs to be replaced. Their response is to say they don't have maintenance to fix it. They "forgot" to order their powerful pain patch, and they are in excruciating pain, probably going through withdrawal. They keep saying their pharmacy is in Indianapolis instead of making arrangements to get the medication locally. The meals are tremendously lacking. One meal was a tuna salad sandwich with nothing to drink. They obviously don't have a dietitian on staff to ensure the patients receive proper nutrition. The call button goes unanswered for a long time. When I walked to the nurses' station, two staff members were sitting at their computers. People were obviously available to respond. It is sad to have a beautiful facility that refuses to provide the most basic requirements.

Do not let this place fool you, when you first walk in it looks nice but the care here is terrible…read more The nurses are neglectful and will leave a call light sitting for hours. My mom was a diabetic who was staying there because she had a fall and broke her hip, she was only 46. My mom would need help changing soiled pants and she would be left there for hours at a time while nurses would sit there and do nothing at the nurses' station. There would be times I would go to the nurse's station, and I would even ask them if they could come to my mom's room. I was even told one time "It's gonna be awhile" and she just sat there on the computer. They have no sense of urgency. They are completely unprepared to have diabetic patients. I walked in to visit my mom to find her in a state of Hypoglycemia, moaning, groaning, and completely out of it. I had to call in a nurse who claimed "She wasn't gone for that long" my mother was a sensitive diabetic and they knew that but left her unattended after my mom had told them her sugar was getting too low. For about an hour they were running around trying to find something to bring her sugar up and they COULD NOT find anything because no one knew where the needed items were, they were frantically running around telling me my mom would be fine, and they handled the situation unprofessionally after they were the ones that caused the situation, they ended up having to call 911. This was only one of 3 or 4 times this has happened. Two of them I was there for. In any bad place there are always good people though, the people in the cafeteria were always so kind to me and my family and the front desk people as well, just be aware that the cons weigh more than the pros with this place.

I look back at Ignite with mostly positive feelings. The room may not have been beautiful, but was reasonably quiet and quite clean. I thought that the nursing staff, the diet staff and the physical therapy associates were good. When I started physical therapy, I could barely take one step before my blood pressure would drop into the "danger zone". When I left, I very proudly walked 150 feet with a walker. They also taught me some life skills like getting in and out of a bath tub. Going up and down stairs. Even how to eat and swallow. Since being home, my progress has continued to improve. I can walk two miles without any aids. I can drive. I can eat without gagging. I no longer require dialysis. I can live a normal life and that has a great deal of value. Special thanks to Alexa, Anna, Bianca, Joanna, Jeff, Nick, Ray and Wendy for their kindness and humanity.

Before you trust Ignite Medical Resort Hanover Park with someone you love, please read this review…read more If my family had known then what we know today, we never would have placed our father at Ignite. During my father's 26-day stay, someone from our family was with him a minimum of 12 hours every single day. We weren't relying on updates from staff. We were there. We saw what happened. We asked questions. We took notes. We advocated for him every single day. Even with that level of involvement, we constantly found ourselves stepping in because things weren't getting done. Call lights went unanswered. My father's call button wasn't always within his reach when he needed help. Medications were left unattended at his bedside. Delays in care became routine enough that we felt we had to monitor what should have been basic responsibilities. We questioned the wound care he received, medications that were administered without anyone discussing potentially serious side effects, and decisions that never seemed to be fully explained to our family. Over time, the hardest part wasn't just watching his condition decline. It was watching him lose trust in some of the people responsible for caring for him. By the end of his stay, the overnight hours were the ones he feared most because he didn't believe someone would come when he needed help. I've attached one of the photographs we took immediately after removing the bandages from my father's foot after he left Ignite. It is one of many reasons our family still has unanswered questions about the care he received. After my father passed away, we didn't immediately write this review. Instead, we spent weeks reviewing hundreds of pages of medical records, organizing our notes, and preparing a detailed executive review because we believed Ignite's leadership would want to understand what happened. We also made sure to recognize the nurses, therapists, CNAs, and support staff who treated my father with kindness and compassion because they deserved to be recognized. Our review was sent directly to CEO Tim Fields. Amy Hammond, Vice President of Operations, contacted our family and met with us, along with Heintje Miranda, Vice President of Clinical Operations. Amy assured us she would investigate every concern we raised, answer our questions, provide the records we requested, and make sure no other patient experienced what our father had experienced. We left that meeting believing we would finally get answers. Instead, the deadline came and went. I sent a detailed follow-up email listing every document we had been promised, every unanswered question, and every commitment discussed during our meeting. We never received a response. No records were provided. No findings were shared. No explanation was offered. Communication simply stopped. There were employees at Ignite who treated my father with genuine kindness, and our family will always be grateful to them. This review is not about those individuals. It is about the care my father received, the questions that remain unanswered, and the complete lack of accountability from the people responsible for leading this organization. If this is how Ignite responds to a family that was present every day, documented everything, and genuinely wanted answers, I can't imagine what happens to families who aren't able to advocate the way ours did. My family will never again trust Ignite Medical Resorts with someone we love.

My knee has been hurting for 3 years with the hip starting to give pain about 7 weeks ago but with mild pain. My right knee will no longer hold my full body weight. I asked about treatment for my knee but was told we're not dealing with that today. Knowing this wasn't the right course to get the ability to walk again and the dangers in X ray it was time to leave. didn't get to see a doctor yet I'm being billed for a missed appointment which I have no intention of paying since none were available for the primary reason of being there. The various puddles of urine at different levels of evaporation was a sign before X ray. There had been urine on the floor for hours. Hopefully I won't have to wait another 3 weeks to see a professional.

Their dedication and compassion truly made all the difference. My mother received rehabilitation, skilled nursing and memory care while at Spring Mill. The hospice staff (which is separate from the facility) was wonderful, but some of the staff at Spring Mill were horrible. No one wears any name tag or ID, so when I tried to register a complaint, I couldn't name the employee. My mother had dementia and 3 different cancers which were very painful. We were assured that a family member could stay with her overnight, which my nephew did, but the next evening one of the nurse's aides insisted that he had to leave because it was against the rules to stay overnight. The next morning we arrived to discover that my mother had not received any pain meds overnight because "she never asked for them". I again explained that her dementia made it hard for her to remember where she was and why she was there. I'm pretty sure no one checked on her all night. Later that day I overheard the aide telling another staff member that my nephew "looked sketchy" and if he stayed the night she was going to clock out and go home. I went to the nursing supervisor to let her know that some of the night staff seems to be worried about their safety, and she rolled her eyes and said they have no reason to be worried. I went back to that aide and said I tried to bring her concerns to the supervisor and she just looked at me. Then I asked her what exactly she means by the term "sketchy" because I didn't understand, and she said she didn't have to answer to me and she takes excellent care of all the residents. Then I said, "How can you say that when you were ready to leave them shorthanded all night because you didn't like the way my nephew looked?" Next thing I know she's screaming at me while the other staff members are dragging her down the hallway. I told whatever staff members who were there that I didn't want that woman anywhere near my mother because I can't trust her. I never saw her again for the remainder of my mother's stay. The next two weeks were filled with repeating why my mother couldn't ask for pain meds but was obviously in pain, stopping them from rolling her over to change her diaper until AFTER her meds, dealing with nurses who refused to place the drops of medicine in her cheek unless she was alert (some would do it, others would not). I finally figured out that we would be able to take better care of my mom in her apartment with the help of hospice. I was paying a fortune to be frustrated and angered by insensitive people who have no business caring for our loved ones. I later discovered that Medicare.gov has a rating system for nursing homes, and, not surprising, Spring Mill had their lowest rating. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!

I just wanted to take the time to recognize the staff at Thrive of Lisle, as they took great care of me. Shoutouts to CNA's Alan & Harrison; nurses Shirley, Mark and Gina. They are the best! Kellie from activities, Jerome and Sue are always roving the halls and engaging with residents. The positivity and enthusiasm of the staff is truly contagious, and made this long recovery journey easier for me. Therapists Susan, Ed, Keyenna and Tiffany have been helping me work towards my goal to be able to walk again and use my left arm. I love Thrive of Lisle, and the staff here. 2023 was easily the darkest time of my life. I nearly lost my life, and was not sure if I'd ever walk again, or be able to return to the career that I love. The staff at Thrive treated me like family. I can't tell you how much happiness and hope that CNA Alan, Nurse Shirley & Kellie brought into my life during this time. They are truly special people. I still come back to thrive and visit at least 4 times a year. It's rewarding for me to visit the current patients during activities time, as well as spreading positivity and encouragement. I also love seeing my extended family (the Thrive staff). My advice & words of wisdom for incoming patients and their families: * Advocate for yourself as the patient; if you're a relative; please advocate for your loved one. * Treat the staff with love & respect (I promise it'll come back to you ten-fold, and will be a much better experience for you & the staff this way.) * You might be shy at first, but take full advantage of the activities that Kellie puts together! From craft-making to group games; it's a fun time for everyone! (Even the patient's visitors are encouraged to participate). * It doesn't matter if you're bedridden, the staff will make sure to get you out to socialize, shower, or PT. You just need to communicate your needs to them early enough in the day. * Family: PLEASE don't underestimate the power of your visits. Frequent visits will greatly help your loved one as they strive to recover. I had at least 2 family members taking turns visiting me throughout each day. *Keep in mind, you ARE allowed to sit in on your loved one's physical therapy sessions. - Just ask the therapist as a courtesy* * Stay positive & Keep on thriving!
