    The boxes that were packed by me that they then dumped out and left and never moved

    I have used two men and a truck before and had great experiences but I had a truly terrible experience with the Baltimore company last week.  They have completely ignored the problems, refused to help solve the problems they created, and not communicated when they said they would.  I am incredibly disappointed. To start, they were supposed to pack our house and move to the new house a few miles away.  They left the original house a disaster!  Boxes I had packed were dumped out and left spilled on the ground.  My child's room was left strewn with toys and clothes all over the place.  About 40% of the stuff was just not moved at all!  They left trash from their lunch and the moving materials all over the entire house.  They used the bathrooms and didn't flush.  They left the exterior doors open wide open and unlocked.  I have pictures and videos of all of this which the Operations Manager saw and disregarded.  I had to hire another moving company to finish the job. When I talked to Christopher Young on 8/31 he assured me he would work with me to fix this.  He agreed it was unacceptable and wanted to talk to his crew before resolving it with me on 9/3.  He said that the final amount would not exceed $2700.  On 9/3 my husband had to call him and he said he still had not talked to the head of the moving team, Alpha.  He wrote us an email saying he would call tomorrow.  He did not call.  On 9/5 our credit card was charged for over $3000-- with no conversation!  We tried to get in touch and they were not responsive.  They refused to negotiate and would not do any of the things they promised on 8/31. I understand that bad experiences happen but I am incredibly disappointed in the response from a company that prides itself on word of mouth recommendations and repeat customers.  I would like to know if there is anything that can be done--- my family has lost significant time and money because of this poor service.

    6/20/22: Two Men & A Truck did not respond to my review or follow-up email & call. My review remains: Do NOT Use This Company! 6/12/22: In response to the company's reply, I sent an email with detailed information regarding my move. I will post an update on the resolution. Where do I start? It was literally the worst move I ever experienced. When inquiring about their services, I asked if they had movers experienced with packing a POD. Further, I asked for my things to be wrapped. I was told yes they did. I used two men & a truck in the Atlanta area for the same thing & had a flawless experience. They showed up on time and that's the only thing they did right. They had no shrink wrap and it took 3 hours for someone to bring it. There were two people one of which was an inexperienced 18/19 yr old who meant well but did not know how to love things properly and was very weak. They were moving things without wrapping, took the stands off my TVs with asking or giving me the screws & stands to secure, and did not know how to pack a POD safely and how to maximize space. They were extremely slow! The last straw was when they attempted to move my glass dining room table top. The weak mover wasn't strong enough to move it. Another person had to come help, but not before my table was broken. They took advantage of me moving out of a mid rise building, knowing I couldn't see the damage on items going into the POD. They simply did not give a care. It was just about throwing the items by in and they wouldn't be responsible. My neighbor caught them dragging my mattress across the dirty ground. After getting my belongings out the storage POD months later, I'm finding so much damage to my things: glass table ruined, king bed broken in numerous pieces, TV broken. I could go on & on. Please don't use these people if they were the last movers on earth.

    I was incredibly disappointed with the move these hacks performed. I was looking for a full pack and load and the packers missed so many things I'm having to move half my apartment myself because the next day movers wouldn't take any of it. Not to mention the packers apparently mischarged me so I got another $567 bill the next day for the terrible job they performed. I'm still unpacking and tons of the boxes are only half full so things shifted and broke during the move. They also packed my food for some reason so I had to order a ton of takeout to be able to eat before I found it. And one of the movers wrapped a full litter box I told them not to take and got used cat litter all over the floors Id just cleaned. Not to mention the furniture they broke. I've used two men and a truck before from other locations and they were great so I don't know whats wrong with this location but don't ever give them your business!

Patrick and his crew, Renaldo, Nitua, Gerand and Kevin, exceeded the already high expectations I had based upon the reviews. I will happily recommend Bookstore to family and friends and will never use another moving company. Their strength, kindness, commitment and pride in their job and the company, organization, efficiency as a crew (this was amazing to watch- they just flowed as a team of 5 and Patrick was an excellent leader!), was consitent and apparent throughout the entire time they spent with us. I really can't say enough good things about the experience and hope to work with them again when we hopefully buy a place and move in the next couple of years. The price was also incredibly fair, worth every penny for their first-rate and professional work and incredibly pleasant dispositions, just a really great group of guys!

    I moved this past weekend and hired Bookstore Movers for the job. I can honestly say I was blown…read moreaway by the professionalism, efficiency, and expertise of the moving crew. I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

They were flexible with us as we had to reschedule due to weather, and had several complicated moves that were handled very well. As with any move, we took care ourselves to wrap things, communicate our needs and expectations, but I would do that with any mover. Ask questions, clarify and explain what you want. All furniture was wrapped carefully with moving blankets and secured and all breakables were treated with care. I've never seen a team of people work so hard!

They backed their truck into my retaining wall, immediately pissing off my neighbors before a single box was moved. They then showed up with half the crew promised, which should have been my first clue about what was coming next. What should have been a straightforward move from a 3-bedroom home took 13 hours, and they still couldn't finish--forcing them to come back the next morning, while I was under extreme pressure due to a pending home sale. With 18 hours to be out of my house, Zip used the situation to triple the price, leaving me completely cornered. At one point, the police showed up at my door to question one of the movers for 30 minutes. Later, they left a single worker alone for SIX HOURS to finish the job. Completely unprofessional and unsafe. Once my belongings were picked up, I received zero updates for six weeks. No proactive communication. No tracking. No accountability. I had to escalate through three different people just to get basic help or information. And when all was said and done, Zip did absolutely nothing to make it right--no refund, no meaningful apology, no remediation--other than claiming they fired the person who originally quoted me, which does nothing for the damage, stress, or financial harm they caused. This was easily one of the most stressful and mishandled service experiences I've ever had, at a time when reliability mattered most.     I'd give zero stars if I could! These people broke my $1000 coffee table, OVER 4 YEARS AGO!! After…read morebeing told that the $300 table I had found that I was willing to accept a a replacement was too expensive, but that he would take it up with the owner and get back to me. He never did, then when I finally got ahold of someone, a woman answered and told me he died. I'm not saying that was a lie, but as such I have her 2 months to get back to business and try to figure out what she was going to do about my table. That never happened and when I finally did get ahold of someone after the 2 months, they answered, acted like they couldn't speak English, and blocked me! The main reason I hired movers in the first place was to move this table and the matching couch table because they're very heavy! They didn't listen when I told them that they needed to move them first, so after moving the couch, loveseat, recliner, and matching table, theiy were hot and tired! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! DO NOT HIRE THEM!

My movers were supposed to arrive between 12-2pm (with the coordinator I spoke to saying it would most likely be 12), but they did not arrive until after 4pm. They were nice guys; but they didn't handle my stuff with care. I have nicks and a huge new scratch on my dresser -- I should've seen the red flag when they didn't wrap it (I've moved this dresser many times before and movers have always wrapped it) but just wanted to get the move over with. This dresser has stayed in perfect condition for several years and several moves, so I'm a bit heartbroken. I also have a hugeeeeee rip on my mattress (picture also attached). I'm unsure of how this will impact support and may have to buy an entirely new one. Throughout the process, I just felt very uneasy about how they were handling my stuff. They broke another one of items as well as a hallway light in my new apartment. I don't know if I have any recourse here because I noticed these things after they left, and don't have any before pictures. However, I'll try to get in touch with Blue Skies on Monday and update my review.
